Abstract

In Indonesia, several training pieces have been conducted to develop HOTS-based science questions for elementary school teachers. However, few studies examine how elementary school teachers developed HOTS-based science questions. Hence, the current study is a case study that aims to analyze HOTS-based science questions developed by elementary school teachers in Indonesia. This study employed a descriptive-analytical method by analyzing 60 HOTS-based science questions developed by elementary school teachers. This study involved two raters from one of Indonesia's universities, who are experts in assessing learning for elementary school level to assess the questions. The aspects that are assessed are aspects of conformity with HOTS questions criteria, conformity with the criteria of thinking ability of elementary school students, and conformity with the quality of good questions. This study's findings show that many problems do not meet the first aspect, especially at non-algorithmic points, multiple ways, and multiple interpretations. Next, in the second aspect, most of the question does not use illustration to strengthen the developed question's information. The third aspect is a relatively fulfilled aspect by most developed questions. However, only a few developed questions are judged not to meet this aspect. Hopefully, this study's findings can be an evaluation material for policymakers in education to increase the training quality of HOTS-based science questions for elementary school level in Indonesia.

Abstract

A cemetery acts as an active decomposition site and contains bacteria which most likely have antibiotic resistance. However, related data to the phenomenon is limited. This study aimed to compare the diversity of bacteria inside and outside the cemetery and examine bacterial antibiotic resistance. First, samples were collected from three different spots inside and outside the Bonoloyo public cemetery in Surakarta, Central Java. Then, the bacteria were isolated by spread plate method on NA medium and were observed using Gram staining after 48 hours of incubation. Also, bacterial resistance against cefepime, bacitracine, and ampicilin were examined. As the results, bacterial populations inside and outside the cemetery area are 3.4x106 and 4.6x106 CFU/gram, respectively, with a diversity of 38% and 34%, while 28% of isolates are collected from both areas. The result of morphological observation showed that 15 and 21 isolates are respectively round and irregular, white to yellow colour with raised (16 isolates) and flat (19 isolates) elevation. Gram staining showed 48 isolates are coccus and 2 are bacilli, with 23 isolates of Gram negative and 27 isolates of Gram positive. Bacterial isolates showed resistance against cefepime (50%-50%)  and against bacitracine (52%-43%) each from both areas of the cemetery, while resistance against ampicilin was relatively low (33%-21%). The number of bacterial populations and bacterial diversity inside and outside the cemetery area are not significantly different. In fact, the resistance of the soil bacteria population collected from cemetery soil are higher than that collected from soil outside the cemetery.

Abstract

Cemetery is an area provided  for burial and acts as an active bodies disposal site. One group of bacteria which is likely to be found with a high population is the proteolytic bacteria because the human body is made up of 46.85% protein. The exploration of proteolytic bacteria from public cemetery in Indonesia has not been conducted as so this research is necessary and become the main objective of this study. This research is a non-experimental study to isolate soil bacteria from Pracimaloyo public cemetery in the district of Kartasura.  Skim Milk Agar (SMA) is used as selective media. Proteolytic capacity was determined using the proteolytic index (PI). Potential proteolytic bacteria isolates were identified based on  morphology features and PI values > 2 were isolated from P23 and P22 isolates. Bacterial proteolytic isolates are dominantly colonies of white to yellowish with irregular and circular shapes. Gram-staining results indicated that bacterial isolates with proteolytic abilities are belong to Gram-negative bacili bacteria. The highest PI value of bacterial isolates exhibited by P23 isolates and possibly belong to the genus Bacillus. The study has discovered  that Pracimaloyo holds the potential as a proteolytic soil bacteria habitat dominated by the Gram-negative group.

Abstract

Every child has the right to learn regardless of whose parents they were born. Children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) who work abroad also have the right to study in general. Many factors hinder the children of foreign migrant workers from being able to attend school, one of which is the lack of Indonesian schools abroad. The Community Service Program (KKN) was held at the Sentul Guidance Studio in Malaysia for almost one month. This service program aims to increase basic literacy and introduce Indonesian culture to children at SB Sentul. The partner in this service is from the management of SB Sentul, namely Mr. Shohenuddin as the administrator of SB Sentul. This service used the Special Guidance observation method. Special Tutoring Activities are activities that aim to focus on teaching children who need special attention, such as for example it is difficult to understand the material presented, they speak a foreign language every day so that Indonesian is difficult to understand, etc. This activity is carried out every Monday-Friday and of course this activity requires a long process and a teacher must have full patience. The results obtained by the children have increased in terms of their basic literacy and the children are getting to know their culture, namely Indonesian culture

Abstract

Education is something very important that needs to be guided for children. Learning guidance strongly supports the crucial development of children's learning because it is not only available within the school system. The existence of this learning guidance program can enhance quality educational services for children. In education, students are encouraged to learn through various methods. This activity is more relaxed compared to other forms of education. All students are not forced to memorize only but they must understand and be interested in what we teach because learning is more enjoyable when using interactive methods. Educational services can also be interpreted as educational services. The word "service" itself has several meanings, ranging from personal services to services as a form of learning outside of school, which has a significant impact on students' motivation to learn. Therefore, the implementation of learning through a play-based approach is applied to motivate students in their learning journey, making them more creative and active thinkers, capable of solving problems. The Community Service Program (KKN/KI) has been successfully carried out, starting with an observation of the community center, program planning, consultation with the program implementers, and the execution of the program. The KKN/KI program includes teaching practice and implementation. The results obtained from this program include improving the active and engaging learning process, as well as enhancing students' skills in the learning process. The KKN/KI program also serves as a platform for training and learning for students, contributing to their respective universities where they are enrolled in this activity.

Abstract

Background: A public burial place (TPU) is used to bury the dead. There is an active decomposition of corpses in the soil, which produces soil nutrients and minerals that can support the growth of microorganisms in the ground, including pathogenic bacteria. Pathogenic bacteria have a more severe impact if they are resistant to antibiotics. Methods: Soil samples were taken in the Bonoloyo TPU area, Surakarta, Central Java, at 3 points each of 2 depths of 20 and 50 cm. Soil samples were inoculated on NA (Nutrient agar) media using the spread plate method. After 48 hours, colony counting and morphology observations were carried out, followed by gram staining. Isolated bacterial isolates were tested for resistance to 3 types of antibiotics. Results: The average population of soil bacteria in blocks 12, 17, and 21 at a depth of 20 cm is 4 x 10⁶ CFU/g; 8 x 10⁶ CFU/g; and 1 x 10⁶ CFU/g, while at a depth of 50 cm, it is 2.3 x 10⁶ CFU/g; 6 x 10⁶ CFU/g; and 4 x 10⁶ CFU/g. The morphology of bacterial colonies is irregular (26 isolates), flat elevation (19 isolates), and the color of isolates is predominantly white. The Gram staining results obtained 23 isolates are Gram-negative, and 22 are Gram-positive with a dominant cell form in cocci. Antibiotic resistance tests showed that the bacterial isolates were resistant to ampicillin (28.9%), Bacitracin (64.4%), and Cefepime (57.8%). Conclusions: Burial soil bacterial populations at Bonoloyo TPU at different depths did not differ markedly, with numbers ranging from 1 - 8 x 10⁶ CFU/g.
