Abstract

Postpartum mood disorder is a postpartum maternal psychological problem that includes a range of psychiatric disorders. Postpartum mood disorders can have a serious impact on both the mother and the baby. About 70-80% of women experience mood swings during pregnancy and postpartum. Some experience mild and temporary changes, while others experience significant depression or anxiety. Provides a brief overview of the issue of mood disorders, given their high impact globally. This review will cover aspects such as the prevalence of mood disorders, clinical manifestations, and relevant management strategies. Postpartum mood disorders have a high prevalence, both globally and in our country context. Risk factors include a history of psychiatric disorders, stress during pregnancy, lack of social support, and economic problems. Symptoms vary from mood swings, anxiety, sleep disturbances, to severe symptoms such as psychosis. These disorders can be life-threatening to both mother and baby if not detected and treated quickly. Early detection is crucial and using diagnostic tools such as the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale can help. Treatment involves cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and the use of medications such as antidepressants. This review is not only useful for increasing healthcare professionals' awareness of mood disorders in this period, but also provides important insights into providing appropriate and time-effective treatment. In the context of clinical significance, in addition to pharmacological treatment, interpersonal or cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as family therapy, have a very important role in managing mood disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus induces hyperglycemia. Low insulin production causes insulin resistance and altered protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism. Much research has shown that traditional herbal treatments can treat diabetes. Diabetes increases free radical production. Secondary metabolic plants include antioxidants that treat extreme illnesses like diabetes. This study examines the efficacy of ethanol extract from red betel leaves (EERBL) in lowering blood glucose levels in vivo, the optimal dose, secondary metabolite content based on phytochemical screening, and alloxan-induced pancreatic hyperglycemia histopathology. Mouse. Six 20-30 gram groups of mice were treated. Group III got 0.65 mg/kgBW glibenclamide, and Groups IV, V, and VI received oral gavage EERBL 100, 300, and 500 mg/kgBW. Group I was in standard control without alloxan, and Group II was in alloxan control. Hyperglycemic mice received 150 mg/kg BW intraperitoneal alloxan. Red betel is 96% ethanol-macerated. Oral red betel leaf extract was given for 21 days to monitor blood glucose and pancreatic function. Splitting red betel leaves to male mice significantly altered blood glucose and pancreatic histology. Red betel goes low cuts close and pancreatic histology by 58.4%. Blood glucose readings were Kruskal-Wallis significant at 0.004 or 0.05. Red betel leaf extract reduced blood glucose and enhanced pancreatic histology in male mice.

Abstract

Everyone there must have been injured in some way. Moringa Oleifera leaves have significant antioxidant activity and are just one of many plant-based treatments used to treat pain and speed wound healing. This study aims to ascertain if a cream made from the extract of moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) accelerates the recovery of damages caused by cuts. This study strategy employs an actual or laboratory experimental design based on a pre-post test with a control group. Twenty adult male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) were used. Mice were acclimatized, phytochemicals were screened, and treatment and monitoring were performed using dermapen wounds during the investigation. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and LSD post hoc Test were used to examine the research data in SPSS. Results from a 14-day study on the effects of a cream containing Moringa leaf extract on the wound healing of male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) led researchers to this conclusion. In a recent phytochemical study, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and alkaloids, known to have therapeutic benefits due to their high antioxidant content, were found in Moringa leaf extract. The secondary metabolite chemicals found in Moringa leaf extract significantly affected wound healing, with the best effects shown at an extract level of 10%.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a normal process that produces a series of physiological and psychological changes in pregnant women. During pregnancy there are changes in anatomical, physiological and biochemical adaptations in the body of pregnant women. Parallel to the gradual increase in body weight during pregnancy and central redistribution there are hormonal influences on the ligament structure. These two factors change the posture of pregnant women to make it lordosis which will then be at risk of back pain. Data analysis using analysis used is the Paired t-Test. Result: The significance value of the pre test and post test is 0.001, meaning that there is a difference in Low Back Pain for Pregnant Women in the Third Trimester before and after the intervention. Thus it can be concluded that there is an effect of giving a combination of Herbal Therapy Compress Ball and Pelvic Tilt Exercise

Abstract

Burns are tissue damage caused by heat, chemicals, electricity, radiation, or the sun. The seriousness (degree) of the wound is based on the depth of the wound and the amount of skin affected. This condition can be painful and cause infection if not treated. For this reason, it is necessary to treat and treat burn wounds using various forms of medication to help the burn wound healing process. This study aims to determine whether a cream made from yam extract (Pachyrhizus Erosus) and egg white can speed up recovery from burn damage. In this study, we compared the efficacy of treating burns on the backs of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) of the Wistar strain using jicama (pochyrhizus erosus) extract vs. egg white using a pre-test, post-test, with control group design. This study tests the claim that jicama extract cream heals burn wounds better than egg white. When undertaking this research, it's crucial to consider other factors, such as extract concentration. Another factor affecting this study's results is the small sample size of 24 white mice. A large number of samples in a research study minimizes the chance of generalization errors. Stress can significantly affect wound healing in rats. Therefore, it must be considered as an internal factor. Stress in mice raises cortisol levels, suppressing cellular immunity and slowing wound healing.

Abstract

Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SSJ) is an extremely rare, acute, and potentially life-threatening event; is an immune complex-mediated hypersensitivity reaction that is often associated with drug use. The aim of this study is to describe the Steven Johnson Syndrome experienced by patients with complications of increased ALT and AST levels. The patient is a 58-year-old male with complaints of red spots all over the body and fever before being admitted to the hospital. The skin rash increases in redness all over the body, there are loose and then burst bullae on the neck, chest, and back, it feels sore and burning, there are dry scars on the lips, nose, and ears, accompanied by complaints of red eyes, painful swallowing, and occasional coughing. The patient took dexamethasone, paracetamol, and allopurinol before symptoms appeared. The most common complications in SJS cases are respiratory problems including bronchopneumonia and moderate increases in transaminase enzyme levels that do not cause jaundice. Stopping previous drug consumption and prompt and appropriate treatment can reduce mortality rates.

Abstract

Wound healing, especially incisions, is still a problem in the health sector due to the many cases and treatment approaches used during globalization. This research tested whether ethanol extract cream from gambier leaves (Uncaria Gambir Raxb) could accelerate the healing of skin wounds in male Wistar rats. Pre-test and post-test with control group design were used in this laboratory experiment. In this study, the acceleration of healing was the dependent variable. Meanwhile, gambier leaf extract cream is an independent variable in the laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of North Sumatra. The research process has several stages: Rat acclimatization, Gambir Leaf Extract and Cream Formula, White Rat Incisions, Histopathological Observations, and Data Processing. SPSS 22 analyzes research data. Shapiro-Wilk determined data normality. One-way ANOVA calculated group mean differences for well-distributed data (P > 0.05). The Post Hockey (HSD) test detected significant treatment differences (P 0.05). The Kruskal-Walli test is used for irregular data. In white mice, 15% gambier leaf extract cream healed cuts better than 5% and 7.5%. However, gambier leaf extract cream 7.5% has a performance like 15%. At a concentration of 7.5%, secondary metabolite compounds from gambier leaf extract heal wounds, while low concentrations suppress bacteria, making them less effective. Thus, gambier leaf extract contains antioxidant phytochemicals that can be used as medicine.
