Abstract

Colostrum is a yellowish liquid that is produced from pregnancy to 4 days postpartum. However, colostrum cannot be secreted directly because levels of the hormone estrogen are still high. Delays in expressing colostrum can affect exclusive breastfeeding. The choice of type of delivery has an impact on the occurrence of colostrum production in postpartum mothers. Mothers who give birth normally have the opportunity to immediately give colostrum to their babies through the IMD process or early contact. This study aims to analyze the relationship between type of delivery and colostrum expenditure at RSUD Dr. H. Moch Ansari Saleh Banjarmasin. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional design. The respondents in this study were 108 postpartum mothers, taken using a purposive sampling technique as many as 37 people, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Data was obtained from 37 postpartum mothers based on the most age characteristics, namely <20 and >35 years (51%), multiparous parity 21 people (57%), nutritional status ≥23.5 cm (97%), basic level education as many as 25 people (67.6%), SC delivery (59.5%). The highest colostrum production is >120 minutes. The results of Chi-Square analysis obtained valuesp value0.000 (p<0.05)which means accepting the alternative hypothesis, meaning that there is a real relationship between the type of delivery and colostrum expenditure. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the type of delivery and colostrum expenditure. This is because the SC type of delivery slows down the time of colostrum expulsion, occurring at >120 minutes.

Abstract

Antibiotic or wound-covering gel might be used to expedite wound healing, especially incisions. The research compares healing rates of cuts on the backs of Wistar strain white rats (Rattus norvegicus) treated with meniran leaf extract (Phyllanthus niruri) and topical antibiotics. Antibiotics and meniran leaf extract (Phyllanthus niruri) are independent variables in this laboratory experiment. The dependent variable Macroscopic photographs, show the fastest wound healing without infection or allergies. The research was done in the University of North Sumatra Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences lab. Rat Acclimatization, Meniran Leaf Extract and Cream Formula, White Rat Incision, Histopathological Observation, and Data Processing comprise the research method. SPSS 22 analyzes research. Shapiro-Wilk determines data normalcy. For well-distributed data, one-way ANOVA calculated group mean differences (P > 0.05). The Post Hockey test (HSD) showed treatment differences (P 0.05). The Kruskal-Walli test tests irregular data. The study indicated that the average healing rate for cuts in the negative control group (K-) was considerably different from K+, treatment groups P1, P2, and P3. This is because the negative control group (K-) lacks active chemicals that speed wound healing. The 15% meniran leaf extract gel group healed white mice and cut injuries better than the 5% and 10% green betel leaf extract gel groups. The group administered antibiotic cream (K+) was similar to that given 15% meniran leaf extract gel at 15%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test the research hypothesis, namely whether topical administration of coffee extract affects the acceleration of the healing process of cuts on the backs of rats. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the administration of the Robusta coffee extract (Coffea Robusta) can accelerate the healing of cuts in white Wistar rats, which is characterized by an average difference in the percentage of the recovery. However, after the T-test, the results obtained for H0 were rejected, meaning there was no significant difference between the control group, which was only given 0.9% NaCl and the treatment group, which was given Robusta coffee extract. Topical can accelerate wound healing. The results of this study are expected to be suggestions and references for other researchers who wish to study the use of Robusta coffee extract in understanding the healing process of cuts.

Abstract

This study was to determine the effect of green tea extract (Camellia sinensis) in reducing body weight in obese male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus). Obesity is a condition of excessive accumulation of body fat so that a person's weight is far above normal and can endanger health. There was an effect of giving green tea leaf extract on weight loss in male Wistar rats at doses of 4.5 grams, 5.5 grams, and 6.5 grams before and after being given green tea leaf extract. The quantity of green tea extract of 6.5 grams was significantly lower than the other groups. The ingredients that have the most effect on weight loss are Epigallocatechin-3-gallate, L-theanine, and caffeine. So, it was concluded that green tea could be used to treat overweight and obesity because the content of green tea (Camellia sinensis) can reduce body weight and fat levels.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the topical application of coffee bean extract (Coffea) in accelerating the wound healing process of cut wounds on the backs of Wistar strain white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The research was conducted using an experimental design with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatment groups, namely the negative control group (receiving base ointment), the positive control group (receiving antibiotic ointment), and two treatment groups receiving coffee bean extract at concentrations of 1% and 2%. A total of 20 Wistar-strain white rats were used as the research subjects. Cut wounds were created on the backs of the rats using sterile sharp instruments. After the formation of the cut wounds, the treatments were applied topically to the wound area according to the assigned treatment groups. Observations were made periodically for 14 days, and the parameters observed included wound healing time, presence of secondary infection, inflammation, and scar formation. The study showed that topical application of coffee bean extract at concentrations of 1% and 2% significantly accelerated the wound healing process in the Wistar strain white rats. The wound healing time in the treatment groups receiving 1% and 2% coffee bean extract was significantly faster compared to the negative control group (p < 0.05). Still, it did not differ significantly from the positive control group (p > 0.05). Furthermore, the treatment groups receiving coffee bean extract also exhibited a significant reduction in inflammation and secondary infection compared to the negative control group. However, there was no significant difference in scar formation between the treatment and control groups. In conclusion, topical application of 1% and 2% coffee bean extract effectively accelerated the wound healing process of cut wounds on the backs of Wistar strain white rats. This study provides insights into the potential use of coffee bean extract as an alternative therapy for wound healing. However, further research is needed to evaluate the mechanisms of action and possible side effects associated with using coffee bean extract.

Abstract

The resilience paradigm is based on contemporary views emerging from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, and sociology on how youth can bounce back and survive stressful conditions, trauma and risks in their lives. The stress experienced by adolescents makes it difficult for them to carry out academic activities at school. The purpose of this research is to develop a stress adaptation model for adolescent mental resilience. The research design used an explanatory survey research design. Methods: The sample size in this study was 250 respondents with a perpusive sampling technique. This research uses stratified random sampling. The test used is Partial Least Square (PLS), which is a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique that is able to analyze latent variables, indicator variables and measurement errors directly. Results: The results of this study indicate that the resilience factor consisting of social competence, problem-solving skills, autonomy and a sense of purpose and future has a significant effect on adaptation stress. Adaptation stress has a significant effect on coping mechanisms. Conclusion: The discovery of stress adaptation models for adolescent mental resilience is associated with resilience to help adolescents bounce back from adversity and successfully adapt to the demands of stressful situations. Adolescents who have resilience perceive adversity as a challenge, not as a threat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and test the effect of Stevia Rebaudiana ethanol extract in preventing dyslipidemia in female Wistar rats (Rattus Norvegicus) fed a high-fat diet. The results showed that giving Stevia Rebaudiana ethanol extract at 40 mg / 200 gr BW of female Wistar rats given a high-fat diet orally prevented a decrease in HDL cholesterol levels. However, it will increase total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. This study demonstrated that the ethanol extract of Stevia Rebaudiana has beneficial properties in controlling hyperlipidemia, which is presumably due to the antioxidant and glycoside effects of the ethanol extract of Stevia Rebaudiana, which overall contributes to the development profile lipid rats were given a high-cholesterol diet.
