Abstract

Decubitus is a problem faced by patients with chronic diseases, patients who are very weak and paralyzed for a long time, and is currently even experienced by many patients who are treated in hospitals, especially in ICU rooms. Comatose patients who undergo treatment in total bedrest for too long can cause tenderness and are at high risk of developing decubitus ulcers. This is due to the patient's inability to care for themselves or at least try to change their sleeping position, resulting in pressure on the same area for a long period of time. Efforts to prevent pressure ulcers should be carried out as early as possible since the patient is identified as being at risk of developing pressure ulcers. Therefore, the family plays a role in preventing the occurrence of decubitus ulcers in patients who experience total bed rest or patients who are in a coma in the ICU. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between family knowledge and efforts to prevent decubitus ulcers in total bed rest patients in the ICU at H. Sahudin Kutacane Hospital. This research design is a correlative study. The population is the families of patients who experienced total bed rest in the ICU with a sample size of 40 people in October-November 2023. The research results found that the majority of families' knowledge was good, namely (72.5%). The risk of developing decubitus ulcers in the family is low, namely (45%). There were efforts to prevent decubitus ulcers in the families of total bed rest patients with a p value (p=0.002). Therefore, it is recommended that the patient's family should know and understand correctly about decubitus ulcers so that they can carry out treatment and prevention methods for decubitus ulcers in order to provide good care to patients on total bed rest in the ICU who are at risk of decubitus ulcers.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common diseases in Indonesia. Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by chronically elevated blood sugar levels that can affect many people from all levels of society. One of the risk factors for diabetes mellitus is the level of knowledge, the role of nurses and support from health workers in gangrene prevention behavior. The aim of this research is to determine the role of nurses in preventing gangrene wounds in diabetes mellitus sufferers at H.Sahuddin Kutacane Regional Hospital. This research method uses a quantitative type of correlational research with a cross-sectional research design. The sample was 29 nurse at the H. Sahudin Kutacane Regional Hospital, using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire on the level of knowledge, the role of nurses and support from health workers in behavior to prevent gangrene wounds. The variables studied were the level of knowledge, the role of nurses and support from health workers as the dependent variable and the independent variable was behavior to prevent gangrene wounds. The data analysis used was the spearmen rho correlation statistical test. The results of the study showed that almost half of the diabetes mellitus patients at H. Sahudin Kutacane Hospital had a level of knowledge (25%) with behavior to prevent gangrene wounds, while the role of nurses or support from health workers with behavior to prevent gangrene wounds was (21%). The results of statistical test analysis using Spearman Correlation show that the value Ho = 0.000 is known to be p < (0.05). Which means that there is a role for nurses in preventing gangrene wounds in diabetes mellitus sufferers. As for the researchers' suggestions, the H. Sahuddin Regional Hospital should be able to increase the provision of information and provide leaflets/brochures to diabetes mellitus patients about preventing gangrene wounds as one of the successes of therapy in diabetes mellitus patients.

Abstract

Science integration is a process to perfect dichotomous knowledge so as to produce a complete scientific concept. Curriculum objectives contain competency standards to be achieved from ongoing learning or in simpler language, curriculum objectives, namely what student output will result from learning. A medical education curriculum that integrates Islamic content is a necessity for Muslim doctors. The importance of integrating Islam into the medical education curriculum is to provide provisions for Muslim doctors when facing ethical issues related to the Islamic religion. In order not to stop at just philosophical discourse, the implementation of Islamic integration in medical science must be reflected in curriculum development and learning.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition of decreased hemoglobin, hematocrit and erythrocyte count below normal values. Anemia in pregnancy is called "Potential Danger to Mother and Child" which plays a role in increasing the prevalence of maternal mortality and morbidity. In pregnancy, pregnant women are said to be anemic if the hemoglobin concentration is less than 11.0 g/dL in the first trimester and less than 10.5 or 11.0 g/dL in the second or third trimester (depending on the guidelines used). Risk factors for anemia in pregnant women are divided into 3 basic factors, namely socioeconomic conditions, education and knowledge, indirect factors, namely ANC visits, parity, nutritional status, age and pregnancy distance, and direct factors of iron (Fe) tablet consumption patterns, infectious diseases and bleeding.

Abstract

Diabetic Retinopathy is one of the eye diseases most often experienced by Diabetes Mellitus sufferers. Diabetic Retinopathy damages blood vessels in the retina which can cause temporary or permanent blindness if treated too late. Differences in the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy between races can occur due to a combination of several things, including access to health facilities, genetic factors and other retinopathy risk factors such as ethnicity or race. Blacks and Hispanics have a much higher prevalence of diabetic retinopathy than whites and Asians. These differences were reduced when the analysis accounted for duration of diabetes, glycemic levels, and progression of diabetes, suggesting that these risk factors may partially explain the higher rates of retinopathy in blacks and Hispanics. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), Indonesia is fifth with the largest population of sufferers in the world, which is estimated to increase from 6.5 million to 20 million by 2030. Diabetic retinopathy is one of the eye diseases most often experienced by Diabetes Mellitus sufferers. Diabetic Retinopathy damages blood vessels in the retina which can cause temporary or permanent blindness if treated too late. Diabetic retinopathy accounts for 0.01% of causes of blindness, 0.04% of causes of moderate-severe visual impairment and overall visual impairment in Indonesia in 2020 is 13.2%.

Abstract

Rabies is one of the causes of death in the world. Therefore rabies is a global health problem. In Ubud District, cases of Rabies Transmitting Animal Bites (GHPR) doubled compared to the previous year with the second highest average number of cases in Gianyar Regency. The GHPR case in Ubud does not only affect the local community but also some tourists who stay and vacation in Ubud. If this problem is not addressed it will have a direct impact on the decline of the tourism industry in Ubud. This research aims to obtain an overview of the level of knowledge and prevention behavior of tourists regarding rabies in Ubud as a tourist destination in Bali. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. The sample for this research was 96 tourists who stayed and vacationed in Ubud, both domestic and international tourists. Data was collected through interviews with questionnaires and measurements then analyzed by univariate. The results of this research show that the majority of tourists already have high knowledge of rabies, namely 65% for international and 63% for domestic. As with knowledge, the majority of tourist prevention behavior is classified as good, namely 79% for international and 73% for domestic. It is recommended that the government and related agencies carry out policy improvements to increase public knowledge regarding changes in health behavior in terms of the use of information media to socialize the dangers of rabies to the public, especially the use of electronic media.
