Abstract

This research was conducted at a typical souvenir shop from Riau "Yolanda" Pekanbaru which is located in the tourist market or the market under Jalan M. Yatim Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the marketing mix has on sales of durian lempuk and what policies are taken by the company to increase sales of durian lempuk. The sampling method used accidental sampling, which is a sampling technique based on chance, namely anyone who happens to meet the researcher and meets the requirements to be used as a sample. The sample used in this study amounted to 71 people. Data analysis in this research is quantitative analysis using multiple linear regression method and the data is analyzed using SPSS 17.00 program. The results of hypothesis testing show that the calculated F value is 13.105 > F table is 2.35, then the hypothesis is accepted. Then the regression model shows that simultaneously product, price, promotion and distribution affect consumers to the sale of durian lempuk at the typical Riau souvenir outlet "Yolanda. The value of R Square is 0.443, which means 44.3% of products, prices, promotions and distributions affect consumers towards the sale of durian lempuk at typical Riau souvenir shops, while the rest (100% -44.3% = 55.7%) is influenced by -other reasons not investigated in this study.

Abstract

Bond ratings issued by rating agencies assist investors in selecting bonds. Bond ratings are very useful for investors and issuers, namely providing information about the company's ability to pay off the bonds issued. The rating issued gives a signal to investors on the quality and risk of a bond. The rating process is carried out by the rating agency by taking into account various factors, such as financial factors through financial ratios, earnings management measures and corporate governance mechanisms. This study aims to provide empirical evidence that earnings management, financial ratios and corporate governance mechanisms affect bond ratings. The subjects of this research are companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and listed on PT. PEFINDO 2008-2011. The sample selection was done by purposive sampling method, in order to obtain 11 companies that meet the criteria with 4 years of observation. The data used in the form of secondary data derived from the financial statements and bond rating database of PT. PEFINDO, while the data analysis used logistic regression analysis. The results show that earnings management, liquidity ratios, managerial ownership and audit quality have an effect on bond ratings. Meanwhile, the activity ratio, market value ratio, institutional ownership and independent commissioners have no effect on bond ratings. The conclusion of this study is that of the 8 variables used in this study only earnings management variables, liquidity ratios, managerial ownership and audit quality can be used to predict a company's bond rating. Suggestions that can be given are that the next researcher can replace the research sample using financial companies, add a complete corporate governance variable and be careful in interpreting a company's financial ratios.

Motivation and work environment together have an influence on employee performance with a contribution of 37.6%. Suggestions that can be given in this study are indicators of the need for security, namely the absence of a better future guarantee from the company. It is hoped that the need for security can be overcome, such as by having a pension fund after the work period is over or an old-age guarantee. The indicators of social needs are the lack of interaction between employees at work and the indifferent attitude between employees. It is hoped that social needs can be overcome by the company holding tours or recreation with employees so that relations between employees are closer, creating working groups for employees. From the work environment variables, the weakness in the lighting indicator

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of corporate governance mechanisms on earnings quality with business strategy and financial performance as mediating variables. The analysis was carried out using the SEM-Warp PLS 7.0 application with two relationship models; direct and mediation. The first test analyzes the direct effect of corporate governance mechanisms on earnings quality. The corporate governance mechanism is measured by four proxies (number of commissioners, percentage of independent commissioners, percentage of audit committees with financial or accounting education background, and percentage of public ownership); and earnings quality as measured by four proxies (persistence, predictability, variability, and smoothness). The mediating effect of business strategy and financial performance is measured by proxy of intangible asset value and ROA analyzed through the indirect model. The results obtained in this study are different from result of previous studies that show corporate governance mechanisms in public companies in ASEAN have a negative effect on earnings quality. However, business strategy and financial performance partially mediate (competitive mediation) to function as a suppressive or substitute effect. This explain why the overall effect of corporate governance mechanisms on public companies in the ASEAN region has been significantly practised in many previous studies.
