Abstract

This research aims to see how effect of HOTS-oriented worksheets on heat and kinetic theory of gases on students' critical and creative thinking ability with guided inquiry model in grade XI SMA Al-Istiqamah Pasaman Barat. The type of research used is quasi-experimental. In this research, two classes were used as the sample class, where class XI IPA 1 was the experimental class and class XI IPA 2 was the control class. The difference in treatment between the two classes is that in the experimental class the product given is HOTS-oriented worksheets while in the control class the product given is conventional student worksheets in schools. For the treatment equation in the two classes, the learning model used is the guided inquiry learning model. The technique for collecting data was a written test with HOTS oriented questions. Critical and creative thinking skills are the basis for assessment in this research. The results of the study after being given treatment in both classes found that the highest skill score between the two classes was the value obtained by the experimental class. Based on the research that has been done, it is concluded that after being given treatment to the sample class, there is an increase in students' critical and creative thinking skills for each indicator. The improvement of students' critical and creative thinking skills on each indicator got higher results in the experimental class than the control class.

Abstract

 Science teaching should be done in an integrated pattern according to the demands of the 2013 curriculum. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology materials were integrated into a discussion of the science. Science. In the 21st century the curriculum development of science need to be done to improve soft skills and hard skills of students. The government has demanded to improve student learning outcomes by integrating learning skills and integrated science teaching in junior high school. However, the real condition indicated science that teachers were still having difficulty in implementing integration of the physics, chemistry and biology learning material in science teaching. This can be seen from the average value of knowledge test result of students was 40.91 and this average value can be grouped into low category. The solution to solve of this problem was to apply science learning material on the our respiratory and the excretory theme by integrating learning skills to improve student competence. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of science learning material on the our respiratory and the excretory theme by integrating learning skills on the competencies of VIII grade students in SMP N 7 Padang. This type of research was posttest-only control designed. The research population was all eight grade students in SMPN 7 Padang. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The research instruments consisted of an observation sheet for attitude aspect, written test for knowledge aspect, and performance assessment sheet for skills aspect. The data which obtained were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and comparison of two means test. The result of the hypothesis test stated that there was a difference in the competence between students who used the integrated science teaching material with learning skills on the theme of respiratory and excretory theme with students who didn’t use in aspects of knowledge, attitude, and skills. This indicated that the use of integrated science learning material with learning skills on respiratory and excretory theme has given a significant effect on the competence of VIII grade students in SMPN 7 Padang.

Abstract

Objective of this research was to determine the effect of the use of worksheets based science technology society (STS) toward students competence at grade VIII in SMPN 1 Kubung. Type of research is quasi-experimental is the randomized control groups only design. As population in research was all students grade VIII in SMPN 1 Kubung in academic year 2011/2012. There were two instrumens to collect the data, those are written test for cognitive domain, observation sheet for affective domain and scoring rubric for psychomotor domains. The data analysis techniques in this research uses compare means test standard of quality 0,05 for cognitive domain and affective domain. Based on the data analysis it can be concluded that the use of worksheets based STS in physics learning significant effeck to word competence of students in SMPN 1 kubung Kabupaten Solok.   Keywords: teaching materials, worksheets, and  science community technolog

Abstract

Integration of science teaching material in Junior High School is required in the 2013 curriculum. The integration of teaching material includes Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as sub disciplinary of science. Integration in science can improve competence of students. However, the real conditions which were found in school show that the integrated science teaching wasn’t suitable with the expected conditions. The solution of this problem was to apply the integrated science textbook on motion theme in adaptive contextual teaching model. The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of the application of integrated science textbook of motion theme in adaptive contextual teaching model toward the competences grade VIII students in SMPN 8 Padang. The type of research which conducted was quasi experiment research with one group pretest-posttest design. The research population was all students of grade VIII in SMPN 8 Padang that registered in 2017/2018 academic year. The samples in this research were grade VIII C which obtained by using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument for knowledge competence was multiple-choice written test, attitude competency was observation sheet and skill competency was performance assessment test. Data analysis techniques in this research were descriptive statistics analysis, simple linear regression test, product moment correlation test, comparison test and determination coefficient. The result of this research shows that the application of integrated science textbook of motion theme in adaptive contextual teaching model has given significant effect on the three competences of grade VIII students including knowledge, attitude and skills at SMPN 8 Padang at 95% confidence level.

Abstract

The achievement of students’ physics competence in high school learning process is still relatively low. One contributing factor is the learning model used by teachers cannot invite students to be able to find and solve the problem of Physics and also the instructional materials used by teachers not yet fully using the scientific approach. Besides, the use of ICT in learning is not optimal. To overcome these problems, it is applied inquiry learning model using teaching materials of scientific approach that is integrated with ICT. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of applying a scientific approach based teaching materials through ICT in inquiry learning model of grade X SMAN 1 Padang. To achieve this goal, the Pre-experimental research design was conducted. In this study, the experiments were carried out with no exercise control over the influenced variables and the preferred was treatment without any control group. The population in this study was students of grade X SMAN MIA I Padang enrolled in the academic year 2015/2016. The sampling technique is by purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is a test that sheet write to the competence of knowledge, attitude observation sheet for competence, and performance pieces for competency skills. Data analysis techniques used in this study is the linear regression test for competency knowledge and skills and used the graph to the competence of attitude. Based on the study that has been done, the data obtained for the all three students’ physics competences. First, on the competence of the students’ attitude has increased in general to each meeting. Second, on the competence of students’ knowledge, there are affections of teaching materials of scientific approach based through ICT in inquiry learning model for the competence of knowledge with values rtest> rtable, the percentage of impact is> 15%. Third, on the competency skills with good criteria, but rtest >rtable, the percentage of impact is>13%, so that it shows the influence of teaching materials scientific approach -based through ICT to inquiry learning model to competence skills

Abstract

The demands of the  Century must have the competence of critical thinking, communicating, linking global issues and having the ability to read and write. The government's efforts to meet the demands of the  century are to improve the curriculum and the School Literacy Movement program. But the reality at senior high school does not illustrate the ideal conditions. The solution of this problem is to use physics teaching materials with scientific literacy. The purpose of this research is to overcome this problem by developing physics teaching materials with scientific literacy. and determine the validity of physics teaching materials with scientific literacy. Research conducted includes the type of Research and Development. The object of this research is physics teaching material with scientific literacy about the material of rotational dynamics, rigid equilibrium, elasticity and hooke law. The data source of this research is the result of the validation of experts including physics lecturers at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNP as validators. Based on data analysis from research that has been done, obtained physics teaching materials with scientific literacy about rotational dynamics, rigid equilibrium, elasticity and hooke law which are very valid with an average validity value of 90.51. So, it can be concluded that physics teaching materials that contain scientific literacy on the material of rotational dynamics, rigid equilibrium, elasticity and hooke laws are valid.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of Handout oriented scientific approach to science learning outcomes-physics class IX students of SMP Earth 2 Padang in the 1st half of the school year 2014/2015. The research is a "quasi experiment" with the draft "only randomized control group design. Sampling was done by using purposive sampling. Data research include learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. The research instrument in the form of a written test for cognitive learning outcomes, observation sheet for affective learning outcomes, and the scoring rubric for the assessment of psychomotor performance. Data analysis of learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor the experimental class is better than the control class. Conclusion of the study is the hypothesis that there is a significant effect of giving handouts oriented scientific approach to science learning outcomes-Physics Students junior class IX Earth 2 fields can be accepted at the 0.05 significance level.

Abstract

Science lessons in junior high school are conducted in an integrated manner according to the mandate of the 2013 curriculum. Integrated IPA learning incorporates several subject from various fields of study of Physics, Biology and Chemistry. Reality at school indicatesthat the veterinary defender has not been applied optimally the IPA materials.One of the integrated science lesson students connercetd type and living being. The purpose of this research is to invertigate the effect of the book of students integrated scienceconnected type with theme of blood fluid on learning outcomes learner SMPN 8 Padang. This type research is a quasi-experimental research. The from a research design will be used is the static group comparison. Population in this research is all students of class VIII SMPN 8 Padang. Sampling in this research by purposive sampling technique.The data in this study were analyzed, aquality two everaging test and t- test then tested the determination of the influence of independent variables for both aspects of competence. The results showed that the average value of knowledge in the experimental class was 8 higher than the control class . The average results of class experimental class  were higher than control class  namely, 84,84 and 80,78.Thues the use of books of natural csience students withconnected type with the theme of blood fluid has a significant influence on the competence of knowledge and skills of grade VIII students.

Abstract

One of the factors that lead to low learning outcomes of students is the poor ability of learners in solving physics problems.This problem-solving skills can be improved through learning using the Creative Problem Solving model. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of applying creative problem-solving model to study physics competency achievement of learners.Type of the research is quasi experimental study design by randomized control group only design, The research population includes all students of class X MIA that registered in the second semester of the academic year 2015/2016. Sampling technique was purposive sampling continued with cluster random sampling.  The research data is the grades of competence of knowledge, attitudes and skills of students.The research instrument was the ultimate test for measuring the competence of knowledge,observation sheets to measure competence of attitudes,performance assessment sheet to measure competence of skills. The research data analyzed by the equality test of two average and regression and correlation test. Equality test of two averages performed for the value of the learning outcomes of each competency of both class sample. Regression and correlation test performed to the value of learning outcomes of class knowledge experiment competence.Based on the analysis of data obtained by the average value for the experimental class and the control class in a row on the competence of knowledge is 83.47 and 78.16, on the competence of the attitude that is 87.04 and the average value for the experimental class and the control class in a row on the competence of skillis 88,7 and 83,3. Data for the competence of knowledge, attitudes and skills of both classes of samples normally distributed and have homogeneous variances, so performed test the equality of two average by t. From the calculation results obtained t value for competence and knowledge are 2.773 t table = 2.00; on the competence acquired attitude t ie 7.1911 and t table = 2.00; and the competence acquired skills t are 4.189 and t table = 2.00. The degree of correlation value of creative problem-solving model to value knowledge competency is moderate, and the influence of the model of 31.10%. So, the conclusion from this study is there a meaningful impact on the implementation of creative problem-solving model for the competence of students studying physics class X SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung received

Abstract

The 4.0 Industrial Revolution era that is currently being faced is based on digitalization, so that new literacy and disasters are needed in facing this era. The 2013 curriculum is one of the government’s efforts to accept this 4.0 revolution. The purpose of the 2013 curriculum is to increase student competence. Based on preliminary research that integration of literacy in learning were still low. Solution of this problem is to develop physics learning material that contain new literacy and disasters. The method that used in this research was Research and Development (R&D). The object of research was physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster. The data collection instruments used were preliminary research, validity dan practicality test questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical analysis. The preliminary research instrument based on observation, book analysis, and analysis test literacy student. The average of value observation that integration literacy in learning  was still low with value 34.72, the result of analysis in five physics book was still enough with average value 41.47, the result of literacy test was still low with average value 40.00. The validity instrument of physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster consists of four components, namely the feasibility of content, presentation, linguistics, and graphic. Validity of physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster was very good with average value 86.27. The practicality instrument consists of four components, namely the easy to use, interesting, clarity, and benefits. Practicality of physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster according to teacher was very good with average value 83,65 and according to student was good with average value 79.52. Physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster for class XI is valid and practical.
