Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the level of validity on the worksheet of students based on comic models guided discovery learning on business material, energy, momentum, and impulse for grade 10 high school or equivalent. The method used in this research is research and development using 4D developed by Thiagarajan. In this study will be determined until the development stage, so that only through 3 stages, namely define, design, and develop. The object used in this study is a worksheet of students based on comic models guided discovery learning on business material, energy, momentum, and impulse. Data obtained from this study were obtained from the validity test through the validity sheet. The validity sheet contains four components distributed by five validators. Data obtained from the validator were processed using the kappa moment equation (k), and the results obtained were 0.79, which was included in the high category. This shows that the worksheet of students based on comic models guided discovery learning on business material, energy, momentum, and impulse for grade 10 high school is valid.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are still not optimal shows learners is still difficult to understand the concepts and principles of physics. One possible cause is the use of media that do not support learners to develop critical thinking skills. Interactive multimedia CD in problem based learning models aided LKPD is expected to be effective ways to improve the critical thinking skills of learners. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of interactive multimedia CD in problem based learning models aided LKPD the critical thinking skills of students grade X SMAN 1 Padang. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a randomized control group design ppretest- posttest design. The population in this study were all grade X SMAN 1 Padang MIA Academic Year 2016/2017. Sampling was done in two stages, using purposive sampling to determine the grade educators to be used and cluster random sampling to determine the appropriate sample class. The instrument used in this study is in the form of a written test about the description. Data obtained from the critical thinking skills score is performed on the answers of students who identifies indicators of critical thinking skills. Data were analyzed with the equality test two averages using statistical t test and regression and correlation to determine the relationship between independent variables and variable control. The test results showed thitungtcount of 2.57 is outside the reception area of Ho. This shows the significant difference from the average value of critical thinking skills between the two classes of samples. Product Moment Correlation analysis showed 31.40% critical thinking skills are affected by the implementation of interactive multimedia CD in problem based learning models aided LKPD and the remaining 68.6% is influenced by other factors. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant impact on the use of interactive multimedia CD in problem based learning models aided LKPD against citical thinking skills of students in the 5% significance level

Abstract

Science is an important subject in school learning. Science can improve students' thinking skills to solve problems in daily life. Base on the reason, students should be understand science well. The real condition shows that students' science compatence is low. One solution of this problem is to use interesting teaching materials which is related to daily life. The purpose of the research is to investigate the influence of implementation of student worksheet by integrating REACT strategy in contextual learning toward student competence of  grade VII SMPN 29 Padang. Type of research is a quasi experiment with randomized control only design. The research population was all students of grade VII SMPN 29 Padang that registered in academic year 2016/2017. Sampling technique was purposive sampling. The sample of the population consist of 34 students in the experimental class and 33 students in the control class. Instruments research consist of three parts namely learning result test sheet  for knowledge, observation sheet for attitude, and performance assesment sheet for skill competence of students. Data  were analyzed by  descriptive statistical analysis, normality and homogeneity test, and comparison of two means test. Based on the result of data analysis can be stated that student worksheet by integrating strategy REACT in contextual learning gives significant effect toward students competencies at 95% significant level

Abstract

Low of student`s learning outcomes in physics subject predicted due to the underdevelopment of its critical thinking skills. So, it needed some effort to develop critical thinking skill by applying the deemed appropriate strategy to develop the ability to critical thinking by adopt a strategy of Problem Based Learning (PBL). The purpose of this research is to investigate  the relationship between critical thinking skills with the characters in the PBL-based learning in class X SMAN 5 Padang, and relationship between the character of critical thinking to student learning result in PBL-based learning in class X SMAN 5 Padang. Type of this research is "Correlational". The population of this research is the Tenth graders of SMAN 5 Padang enrolled in the academic year 2013/2014 as much as 5 classes. Sampling was carried out in two stages, the first stage with Porposive Sampling, and the second stage cluster random sampling. Instrument that is used to test to critical thinking skills is CCTST, and questionnaires CCTDI for critical thinking character. Statistics used were Pearson Product Moment Correlation.. For the critical thinking skills versus critical thinking character by using t test analysis, obtained t = 2,854 and t  table = 2.04 at significance level 0.05, it means t-test is outside the reception area of Ho, then Ha is accepted by the correlation coefficient obtained was 0,442 with a standard of 5% real meaning. For the coefficient of determination obtained amounted to 19.53% means 19.53% of the character is affected by critical thinking skill. The rest is affected by other factors. The character of critical thinking based on the results of t test analysis obtained t = 2,280 and ttable = 2.04 at significance level 0.05, it means t-test was in the reception area of Ho, then Ha is accepted with a correlation coefficient of 0.376 was obtained with a 5% means that there is a significant relationship between The critical thinking character and learning outcomes. For the coefficient of determination obtained was 14.20%. It can be concluded that the presence of a significant relationship between critical thinking skills and character with learning outcomes in PBL based learning in class X SMAN 5 Padang

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to increase the activities and learning outcomes of physics in class XII IPA 5 SMAN 7 Padang, using an integrated Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model of Science  Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The method used is classroom action research, which consists of two cycles. The data collection instrument used observation sheets and test learning outcomes. Observation data were processed using percentage techniques and graphical analysis, while student learning outcomes were processed using descriptive statistics. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of STEM integrated PBL learning models can increase the activity and learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine comprism of student learning outcomes between problem based learning and discovery learning model in static and dinamic fluid. The population of this research are science students in SMAN 1 Bukittinggi. There are two sample classes in this research, they are experiment class I which applies problem based learning model and eperiment II which applies discovery learning model. The result of this research that there are significant differences in physics learning putcomes between problem based learning and discovery learning model. Based the result of research, author provided some suggestion, that: 1) problem based learning and discovery learning model can both develop physics learning outcomes, but problem based learning is better, 2) in order to increase physics learning outcomes than the findings, it needs to do the next research that combine problem based learning with another teratment.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the Padang city is in the area which allows suffered tsunami that required to improve preparedness against disaster. The learning was applied is Pictorial Riddle Approach video type in Inquiry Learning. The purpose of research is to determine the influence of Pictorial Riddle Approach video type to learning results of student in inquiry learning on wave material integrated by tsunami. The type of this research is Quasi Experimental research. The population in this research is all students of class XII at SMAN 3 Padang are listed in academic year 2012/2013. Class sample was determined by cluster random sampling technique. The instrument is used to collect data is written tests for the cognitive domain. The result of the data analysis is the learning results of student to cognitive domain for the experiment class and control class are 87.10 and 82.50. The hypothesis test for the cognitive domain is tcount > ttable at significance level 0.05 and dk 61. The conclusion is the hypothesis which states that there is influence of Pictorial Riddle Approach video type to learning results of student in inquiry learning on the wave material integrated by the tsunami in grade XII SMAN 3 Padang is acceptable.   Keywords — pictorial riddle, inkuiri, video, hasil belajar, gelombang, tsunami

Abstract

This investigation is support on the number of students who are less active in physics learning. Learners tend to be less courageous to ask questions and express their opinions on learning, thus causing the physics competence of learners to be lower than the minimum limit set by the school. The use of cooperative learning model is rarely. Also still limited teaching materials to help learners on learning. The functional of study to investigate the effect of applying the learner sheet in the model of cooperative learning type Think Talk Write completed with a time token to the physics competence of students of class X MIA SMAN 14 Padang. The type of research conducted is Quasi Experiment Research. Sampling is done by Purposive Sampling technique. Research instruments include knowledge competence test, attitude and skill competence observation sheet. From the data case study can be expressed the results of this investigation, there is a significant difference of competence between learners using the learner's Worksheet in the cooperative learning model of type talk talk write completed time token with learners who do not use, Furthermore the influence of student worksheet application in cooperative learning model type think talk write has a meaningful time token against the competence of students of class X MIA SMAN 14 Padang at the real level of 0.05.

Abstract

In the revised 2013 curriculum, students are required to have skills that fit the challenges of the 21st century. To train these skills is to apply the right model in learning, namely the guided inquiry model. The availability of guided inquiry models in learning can be seen from the lesson plans. All lesson plan at public high schools has not been identified whether they have a guided inquiry model. Therefore, this research aims to find out the availability of guided inquiry models in lesson plan Physics grade XI Semester 1 in high schools. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The population data in this study are all lesson plan Physics High School grade XI semester I used by 15 districts in West Sumatra. The samples in this study were lesson plan Physics in high schools grade XI Semester I from 7 schools created by teachers. Based on the research that has been done, the availability of the guided inquiry model in lesson plan physics grade XI semester 1 obtained the results of the analysis that lesson plan with the highest availability category is lesson plan 3 with a percentage of 83.3% in very available category. The lesson plan with the lowest availability is lesson plan 1 and lesson plan 6 with a percentage of 16.67% in the unavailable category. Thus, it can be concluded that the availability of the guided inquiry model in the lesson plans for grade XI semester 1 is categorized as sufficient available.
