Abstract

Students in the 21st century requires literacy skills in their learning and their daily live. The Indonesian government has supported the literacy of students through school literacy movement program. Besides that, the Indonesian government also has tried to improve the competence of students through integrated science teaching in Junior High School. The real condition shows that the result of learning outcome in science subject and literacy test of students can be classified into low category. An alternative solution to solve this problem is to apply the integrated science student worksheet in adaptive contextual teaching model. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of the application of Integrated science student worksheet on digestive health theme toward the competence of grade VIII students in SMPN 13 Padang. The type of research that used was quasi experiment with posttest-only nonequivalent control group design. Sampling technique in this research used purposive sampling. Instruments for collecting data consist of written test sheet of knowledge competency, observation sheet of attitude competency and performance assessment sheet of skill competency. Data from the research were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis and compare two means test. Based on the data analysis can be stated that the application of Integrated science student worksheet on our digestive health theme has given significant effect toward competence of grade VIII students including knowledge, attitude and skill aspect of competences in  SMPN 13 Padang at 95% confidence level.

Abstract

In 2013 curriculum is required integrated science learning in Junior High School. Integrated learning isn’t implemented well yet. As solution of this problem is to make integrated science student worksheet by integrating the scientific literacy. The purpose of the research is to  determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the student worksheet of integrated science by integrating scientific literacy. The type of research is Research and Development (R & D).  Research design was limited testing this was before and after treatment. Instruments to collect data were expert validity sheet,  practicality assessment sheet, effectiveness of the test sheet form of sheets of  achievement test sheet, attitude observastion sheet, performance, and skill assessment sheet. Data analysis techniques were used in this research as follow: statistic descriptive, graph method, and correlation compare mean. Based on data analysis, there were two of research results. First, student worksheet of integrated science by integrating scientific literacy was very valid with average is 84.80. Second, implemention of integrated science student worksheet was practice acording teachers and students with average value respectively 89.46 and 90.30. In addition implementation of integrated science student worksheet by integrating scientific literacy was effective to improve students competencies including knowledge, attitude and skill competency.

Abstract

This research is motivated that teaching materials in schools have not facilitated students optimally in finding their knowledge. In addition, practicum activities are also not always done in Physics learning, due to the limitations of practicum tools. So that learning is still centered on the teacher and make learners less active and just memorize the formula instead of understanding the concept. This study aims to produce products in the form of RPP and LKPD integrated inquiry guided with virtual laboratory on the material Dynamic Fluid and Gas Kinetic Theory in a valid, practical and effective physics learning. This research was a research development (research and development) using 4D development model. This model consists of 4 stages of define, design,, development and disseminate. However, this study was only done until the stage of development. The data of the research was analyzed by qualitative and quantitative analysis. This research produces products in the form of integrated RPP and LKPD guided inquiry with virtual laboratory assisted. Based on the data analysis can be presented three research results. First, the validity of RPP and LKPD that validated the experts each have an average value of 91.46 and 89.84 with criteria is very valid. Second, the practicality of teachers for RPP is 93.31% and for LKPD is 95.31% and practicality value of learners that is 89.67% who are on very practical criteria. Third, integrated LKPD guided inquiry with virtual laboratory is effectively used in physics learning

Abstract

This experiment is based on the problem that student learning outcomes are still under standard. It happens because the learning is not related with events that often experienced by students. The purpose of experiment is to investigate the effects of student work sheets integrated by flood material to the physics student learning outcomes using Case Based Learning Model. Type of research is a Quasi Experiment. Design of research is randomized Control Group Only Design. The population of research is all the student of grade XI science in SMAN 2 Painan enrolled in the academic year 2013/2014. The sample is selected by cluster random sampling technique; the sample is consisted of XI Science 4 as experiment class and XI Science 3 as control class. The data of research are physics learning outcomes include cognitive domain, affective domain, and psychomotor domain. The technique of collecting data for cognitive is essay; for affective and psychomotor is observation sheet. Analysis of data uses two similarity average test for the cognitive domain, affective domain, and psychomotor domain. Result of data analysis is average student learning outcomes, 71,07 for experiment class and 64,15 for control class toward cognitive domain; 73,3 for experiment class and 70,03 for control class toward affective domain; 78,92 for experiment class and 75,36 for control class toward psychomotor domain. The result of two similarity average test shows t count > t table. The conclusion of research is hypothesis that there is significant effects of Student work sheet integrated by flood material to the physics student learning outcomes using Case based Learning model can be accepted on the real level of 0.0

Abstract

Education in the 21st century is developing very rapidly. It can be seen from the many uses of science and technology in all the aspects of life. The development of technology also has a big impact on education. Learning cannot be separated from the assessment process. Teachers must be innovative, creative, and able to develop and use learning media that are in line with the development of science and technology. The researchers are interested in making assessment application that can be used as a medium to assist teachers in the process of grading assignment given to students. This type of research was an analysis that conducted in the context of the needs to make a skills assessment application. This research was conducted at class X of high school in Padang. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaires sheet containing positive and negative responses distributed by using the google form. The quistionnaires given have been validated by experts. The data analysis technique used was the descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that the implementation of skill learning is not optimal epsecially on the uses of technology for students' assessment and most students lack of motivation in learning. The assignment given by teachers were still not optimal because most of the task were not related to the daily life. Then, the teacher was not optimal in giving worksheets before doing the practice. Therefore, the researcher designs the application of performance skills assessment that is equipped with worksheets based-scientific literacy

Abstract

In the 21st century, education should be able to produce the graduates with holistic and balanced competencies. For this reason, the Indonesian government has created a school literacy program to improve the learning outcomes of students. But the real condition indicated that physics learning with literacy was still limited in reading skill. The solution to this problem was to apply the learning material with scientific literacy and HOTS in the discovery learning model. The purpose of the research was to investigate the effect of learning material with scientific literacy and HOTS in the discovery learning model of fluid material on the learning outcomes of grade XI students in SMAN 10 Padang. This type of research was quasi-experimental research. The research design was Randomized Control-Group Only Design. The research population was all students of grade XI of SMAN 10 Padang. The sampling techniques in this research were purposive sampling and cluster random sampling. The sample of the research was the grade XI MIA 5 as the experimental group and the grade XI MIA 2 as the control group. The research instruments were a written test to assess knowledge, a performance assessment sheet for assessing skills, and an observation sheet to assess the attitudes of students. The research data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity test, and comparison test of two means. Based on the result of data analysis, it can be stated that there is a significant difference the learning outcomes between students who use the learning material with scientific literacy and HOTS and students who didn’t it in the discovery learning model of fluid material at SMAN 10 Padang with a confidence level of 95%. Therefore, the use of learning material with scientific literacy and HOTS in the discovery learning model of fluid material has given a significant effect on learning outcomes of students for three aspects, namely knowledge, skills and attitudes.

Abstract

The purpose of learning process is to create the intellectual and to develop the characters of students. The integration of characters value in learning process is important. One solution to overcome the problem is to develop an module based on ICT to integrate the character values. The general purpose of this research is to produce a module based on ICT to integrate the character valid that valid, practice, and effective to use in learning process. The type of this research is Research and Development (R & D). It uses before-after experimental design. Object of this research is module based on ICT. Subjects of this research are 31 students of X.5 at SMA 10 Padang. The instruments are used to collect the data in this research are: validity sheet, practicality sheet, learning outcomes test sheet, and questionary sheet.  Based on analyze of the data, There are four result of this research. First, module has high validation score 87. Second, the design of this module has menu home, competence, learning evaluation, and download which are completed by video and animation as well as are packaged in CD. Third, the value of practicality of module according to the teachers and students are 85,46 and 87,60. Fourth, this module effectives to increase learning outcomes and develops the character value of the students.   Keywords— Module, ICT, Characters value, Validity, Practicality, effectivity

Abstract

    This meta-analysis study aims to analyze the effect size of the use of the jigsaw cooperative model based on education level, material units, and aspects of learning outcomes including knowledge, attitudes, and skills.  The research method used is a meta-analysis of 25 articles that have been published in various national and international journals and proceedings. The results of this study are as follows: (1) The use of the type cooperative model jigsaw in improving learning outcomes based on education level, more have an effect on the high school level; (2) The use of the jigsaw type cooperative model in improve learning outcome based on material units, more influential on units optics and thermodynamics material for high school level and affect the unit thermodynamics and vibration & wave materials for junior high school level; (3) The use of the type cooperative model jigsaw in improving learning outcomes has an effect on aspects of attitude, knowledge, and skills.

Abstract

The book acts as a source of independent learning, if learning is designed in full. Textbooks are said to be good, one of them is by fulfilling the components of the contextual approach as recommended in the 2013 curriculum. Contextual teaching books connect theories, phenomena and problems encountered so students can implement theories, concepts and principles that have been learned with everyday life. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the presentation of physics textbooks for Class XI High School 1 Semester 1 had facilitated the implementation of a contextual approach in high school. The type of research used is descriptive research and the approach used is a qualitative approach. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The research instrument used in this study was a statement sheet in the form of statements according. The data analysis technique used is the content analysis technique and processed with percentages. Based on the research conducted, it was found that the results of this study were presented in the fourth analysis of physics books in class XI in the first semester which facilitated the implementation of the contextual approach. The book that has been very facilitating and suitable for use by the school is Yrama Widya's book. The Yrama Widya book has the highest and stable value in each component of the CTL assessment with an average value of 82.3%. Whereas the book with the lowest score is Tiga Serangkai with an average value of 64.7% which is categorized as facilitating. Whereas from the CTL assessment component, the four books generally have the highest value on the modeling component and the lowest in reflection.

Abstract

One form of the problems faced by students while studying physics matter is the lack of ability of students to associate with the subject matter of technology and society. To overcome these problems, researcher made the form of teaching materials Student Worksheet based on the concept of Science Technology Society of heat and energy conservation principles. Type of research done including the type of Research and Development (R & D). The collection instruments used in the study is the validity of the sheet according to expert staffs, the practicalities of test pieces according to physics teachers, the practicalities of test sheet according to students, test effectiveness by student learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor. Products and data analysis techniques are described techniques, methods graphic, descriptive statistical analysis, and comparative analysis correlated. Data analysis show two results. First, it has been successfully created worksheets science technology-based society with an attractive design worksheets. Second, Student Worksheet made ​​valid, practical and effective use in teaching physics, in addition, the worksheet can improve student learning outcomes.   Keywords : Student worksheet, STM, learning outcomes
