Abstract

Freedom of opinion is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Indonesian constitution and is a major pillar in the country's democratic system. However, while freedom of expression is guaranteed by the Indonesian constitution, in practice, this freedom is often faced with restrictions imposed by the government, especially through social media regulations that restrict public expression. The phenomenon of restricting freedom of opinion, especially through the regulation of social media such as TikTok, has created a tension between the freedom of expression guaranteed by the constitution and government policies. This research aims to analyze the gap between the freedom of opinion guaranteed by the constitution and the reality of its restrictions in Indonesia, focusing on the democratic process, social protests, and social media restriction policies. Using a literature-based qualitative approach with case studies and content analysis from secondary sources (including public data and 2018-2024 reports), the results show that while governments guarantee freedom of expression, the policies implemented often threaten public spaces for expression, reduce political participation, and exacerbate public distrust of the government. In this context, social media, especially platforms like TikTok, play an important role in mobilizing social movements; however, TikTok is also targeted for restrictions, which shows the need for more inclusive policies and prioritizing human rights. The study concludes that the Indonesian government should prioritize human rights principles in restrictive policies, increase transparency in decision-making, and engage communities in policy processes to create healthy and inclusive spaces for dialogue. Abstract

Taxpayer Compliance is a crucial issue in the taxation system, and the TPB model is used as a theoretical framework to understand taxpayer reporting intentions and behavior. This study aims to analyze the influence of variables in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), namely Attitude, Subjective Norm, and Perceived Behavioral Control on Individual Taxpayer Compliance in Reporting Annual Tax Returns at the Pare Kediri Tax Office (KPP Pratama), and to test the moderating role of Tax Knowledge. This quantitative research was conducted at the Pare KPP, Kediri, East Java in 2025. The population was registered Individual Taxpayers who actively reported Annual Tax Returns. A sample of 50 respondents was determined using the Accidental Sampling technique. Primary data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire (1-5), measuring Compliance (formal/material), Attitude, Subjective Norm, Behavioral Control, and Tax Knowledge. Data analysis includes Instrument Test (Validity & Reliability), Classical Assumption Test (Normality, Multicollinearity, Heteroscedasticity, Autocorrelation), Descriptive Analysis, and Hypothesis Test using Moderate Regression Analysis (MRA). Data analysis uses the assistance of the SPSS program for windows version 25. The results of the study indicate that Attitude, Subjective Norms, and Perceived Behavioral Control partially have a significant positive effect on Taxpayer Compliance. Another key finding is that Tax Knowledge is proven to significantly strengthen (enlarge) the positive relationship between each TPB variable (Attitude, Subjective Norms, and Behavioral Control) on Tax Compliance. The implications of this study emphasize that Tax Knowledge acts as an essential driving factor in facilitating taxpayer compliance intentions and behavior to be realized into real Annual Tax Return reporting actions.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of servant leadership and spiritual service quality on organizational engagement through the mediating role of sense of belonging in faith-based communities. Employing an explanatory quantitative design, data were collected from 215 active members of a parish-level faith community through purposive sampling using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via WarpPLS 7.0. Results reveal that spiritual service quality significantly predicts both sense of belonging (β = 0.689, p < 0.001) and organizational engagement (β = 0.145, p = 0.015), while sense of belonging is a strong predictor of organizational engagement (β = 0.649, p < 0.001). Sense of belonging fully mediates the pathway from spiritual service quality to organizational engagement (β_indirect = 0.447, p < 0.001), but does not mediate the servant leadership pathway significantly. Servant leadership shows no direct or significant indirect influence on engagement. The model demonstrates substantial explanatory power (R² = 0.599; GoF = 0.595). The findings underscore that in value-based organizations, spiritual experience quality and psychological belonging are more decisive drivers of engagement than formal leadership structures. Implications for organizational management theory and practice in faith-based settings are discussed.

Abstract

This study explores the complex psychological landscape of Kakeru Naruse, the protagonist of the anime Orange, through the lens of Carl Jung's Analytical Psychology. The research specifically aims to uncover how certain archetypes within Kakeru's psyche fuel his deep-seated depression and overwhelming sense of guilt. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study performs a deep dive into the anime's dialogue and key scenes through content analysis. The findings reveal a profound inner conflict: Kakeru constantly battles between his Persona- the social mask he wears to hide his true suffering -and his Shadow, the dark corner of his mind filled with past trauma and self-destructive instincts. This analysis suggests that Kakeru's behavior is shaped by a "purposive-mechanistic" dynamic; he is simultaneously haunted by his past and driven by his hopes for the future. Ultimately, his journey is portrayed as a fragile, ongoing struggle toward Individuation, or the achievement of a unified Self.

Abstract

The banking sector is currently undergoing a digital transformation that demands high employee performance standards amidst increasing work pressures. This study aims to examine in depth how corporate culture and organizational commitment influence employee performance in the banking sector. The phenomenon discussed in this study is based on the gap between formal corporate cultural policies and the internalization of values experienced by employees in the workplace. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive-phenomenological approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with ten informants who work as permanent employees in the banking sector at various levels, supported by direct participatory observation. The data analysis technique uses an interactive analysis model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The study shows that a corporate culture oriented towards the values of integrity, professionalism, and digital adaptability not only serves as a behavioral guideline but also as a social control mechanism that minimizes operational risks through employee self-awareness. In addition, it was found that organizational commitment, especially affective commitment, is formed through perceived organizational support and inclusive leadership. Employee performance is found to be at an optimal level when there is alignment between an individual's personal values and organizational culture (Person-Organization Fit). Highly committed employees tend to exhibit organizational citizenship behavior that positively contributes to the efficiency of banking services, exceeding their formal Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets. This study concludes that a strong organizational culture acts as a foundation, while organizational commitment is a key catalyst in improving employee performance amidst the dynamics of a competitive financial industry. The practical implications of this study suggest that banking management should focus more on strengthening the emotional aspects and a humane work culture to maintain employee performance resilience in the long term.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership and employee engagement on employee performance through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) method. This study examined 15 scientific articles published between 2015 and 2025 and obtained from various academic databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and ScienceDirect. The selection process was systematically conducted based on inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure the relevance and quality of the sources. The results show that transformational leadership has a positive and significant influence on employee performance through the leader's ability to provide inspiration, motivation, and individual attention to employees. Furthermore, employee engagement has been shown to play a significant role in improving performance by increasing employee emotional involvement, dedication, and loyalty to the organization. The main findings of this study indicate that employee engagement serves as a mediating variable, strengthening the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. In other words, effective transformational leadership can increase employee engagement, which ultimately impacts performance. This research provides a theoretical contribution by strengthening the integration of transformational leadership theory, Social Exchange Theory, and the Job Demands-Resources Model in explaining the relationship between leadership, engagement, and performance. Practically, the results of this study provide implications for organizations in developing transformational leadership styles and creating work environments that support increased employee engagement to achieve optimal and sustainable performance.

Abstract

The implementation of Work From Home (WFH) for State Civil Apparatus (ASN) has again become a concern as the government strives for budget efficiency. Flexible work systems are seen as being able to reduce office operational costs, transportation costs, electricity usage, and the need for work facilities. However, this policy also raises questions regarding its impact on productivity, discipline, supervision, and the quality of public services. This study aims to analyze the relationship between WFH for ASN, budget efficiency, and performance management using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The study was conducted by reviewing various national and international scientific articles published between 2020 and 2026. The results show that WFH can provide benefits in the form of operational cost savings, increased work flexibility, time efficiency, and increased employee job satisfaction. However, WFH also has the potential to lead to decreased discipline, weak supervision, decreased coordination between employees, and a decline in the quality of public services in certain agencies. Therefore, the effectiveness of WFH for ASN depends heavily on the implementation of output-based performance management, the use of digital technology, and a clear and measurable work evaluation system.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Performance and productivity assessments are crucial for improving the effectiveness of village governance. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the performance and productivity assessments of village officials based on previous research. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach. Articles were obtained from Google Scholar, Garuda, and SINTA-indexed journals covering the years 2020–2025. Keywords used included "village official performance assessment," "village official productivity," "village official performance," and "village public services." Of the 85 articles found, 15 were selected for further analysis. The results indicate that four main factors influence the performance and productivity assessments of village officials: work quality, work quantity, communication skills, and teamwork skills. Furthermore, leadership, work motivation, utilization of information technology, and community support are also supporting factors influencing village official productivity. This study implies that village governments need to implement an objective, sustainable, and integrated evaluation system with human resource development. Abstract

Increased trade integration within the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) presents both opportunities and challenges for Indonesia’s base metal exports. This study analyzes the competitiveness of Indonesia’s base metal exports to RCEP member countries and the factors influencing it, using a combination of Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Export Product Dynamics (EPD), x-model, Intra-Industry Trade (IIT), and panel data gravity models. Results indicate that Indonesia holds a comparative advantage in most RCEP countries, with EPD identifying Vietnam, the Philippines, China, and New Zealand as rising star markets, while Japan, Brunei, Myanmar, and Cambodia are lost opportunities. X-model clustering further highlights Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia as potential markets, and IIT analysis shows that Indonesia engages in both exports and imports of similar products, reflecting diversified trade patterns. Gravity model results reveal that GDP, exchange rates, the Logistics Performance Index (LPI), economic distance, and downstreaming policies positively influence exports, while FDI is not significant. These findings suggest that enhancing competitiveness requires focusing on rising star and potential markets, improving logistics efficiency, and strengthening downstreaming strategies.
