This research is entitled “Representation of Ghibah in TILIK Film (Short Movie 2018)”. The purpose of this research is to find out how the representation of Ghibah in the TILIK film (Short Movie 2018). The theory used in this research is Representation Theory. The object of this research is the film TILIK. This research uses a two-stage Roland Barthes semiotic analysis method in which researchers can better understand the meaning of denotation, the connotation obtained in the TILIK film, with visuals as a representation of the dialogue which is the marker in this research. The researcher explained the data analysis with visual as a signifier and audio as a marker then explained the meaning of denotation and connotation. The results of this research describe the social reality that often occurs and is carried out by the community, namely backbiting or gossip other people or Ghibah.

Indonesia is a country that has a diversity of ethnic groups that have different customs and cultures. From various cultures, each has its own traditions and customs, one of which is the tradition of the Minangkabau, there is a culture, namely a tradition called Malam Bainai. The night of Bainai is to redden the bride's nails with crushed henna leaves. The Bainai night event is held at Anak Daro's house, which is held on the night of the day before the wedding day. The formulation of the problem in this study is "What is the meaning of the Bainai night in a Minangkabau traditional wedding in Padang Laweh Village, Sungai Tarab District, Batusangkar City?". The aim of this research is to find out the implementation of the Bainai night at the Minangkabau traditional wedding. This study uses a descriptive method, with data collection techniques using interviews, observation, documentation and analyzing data with qualitative techniques.

The shoot auction tradition is a tradition that is carried out during a wedding reception in Seri Dalam Village, Ogan Ilir Regency which has been attached for generations. This study aims to determine the process and meaning of symbols from the shooting auction tradition in the village of Seri Dalam Ogan Ilir. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach using semiotic analysis from Charles Sander Pierce. This study explains that the wedding reception activity in Seri Dalam Village, Ogan Ilir Regency has a shooting auction culture, namely the bargaining process to get the highest vote or price for the goods offered by the family holding the celebration. The results of the study reveal that in Charles Sander Pierce’s semiotics, it was found that the price auction activity means those who bid with the highest price will be given rewards, namely singing on stage. Goods auctioned in the from of gifts in the from of mukenah, sarong and money. The symbolic meaning of mukenah is that there is a great responsibility as a from of a husband who is ready to teach and guide his wife in matters of religion. While the meaning of the symbol of the sarong is interpreted as covering the genitals in front of the prospective bride. This tradition is held at night aiming to help each other with relatives who are holding a celebration. And this tradition is carried out continously, when the celebration events is over, the family who has carried out the celebration will return the auction as well. Because the purpose of this shooting auction is to ease the burden of the owner’s cost and establish friendship. And the meaning of the symbol of this tradition is an expression of gratitude to Allah SWT. Keywords: Tradition, Shoot Auction, Semiotics Charles Sander Pierce.

The emergence of a new covid-19 variant (Omicron) has had a real impact in Ponorogo. In an effort to overcome the crisis that occurs, it is necessary to pay special attention and handling to the authorities or the community. The health Office as an institution that is at the forefront in responding to health issues must act quickly before the issue develops into a continuing crisis phenomenon. One of the phenomena of the communication crisis in this pandemic era is the emergence of an excessive concern about the impact of the spread of disease and also the policies made by authorized institutions. Referring to the theory expressed by W. Thompson regarding the 4R (Readiness, Radar, Response, Recovery) in responding to a crisis. The purpose of this study was to determine the crisis management strategy of the Ponorogo Health Service in dealing with the issue of the Omicron Variant Covid-19 crisis. This research is qualitative research with descriptive method. Various data collection processes are carried out both primary and secondary, such as: conducting in-depth interviews with the head of the P2P Health Office, taking documentation of the level of affected patients in Ponorogo. The results of this study indicate that the crisis management carried out by the Ponorogo Health Service in dealing with the new variant of Omicron is in accordance with Thompson's 4R theory stage.

Abstract. This study discusses the ethnographic study of Bogor citizens in the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 1441 H, where the rules of the Large-Scale Social Border (PSBB) are still enforced and Bogor residents carry out activities like normal life as usual. Even though in the midst of the pandemic coronavirus always prioritizes social and physical distance. The effort to maintain distance as an effort to avoid direct contact with sufferers of Coronavirus and avoid the transmission of Coronavirus disease through fluids caused by dropping. The culture of the citizens of Bogor is not only happening in Bogor, but even throughout the world in the lead-up to the Eid al-Fitr, always done by buying new clothes, new shoes and cooking delicious food such as cookies for serving on the living room table and ketupat in the form of opor and rendang during Eid. This has become a common activity for residents to shop at Anyar traditional market in Bogor as an ethnographic study of Bogor residents in this research. With the meeting of Bogor residents in Bogor's Anyar Traditional Market, the distance between residents in interacting during transactions and choosing buying and selling goods was not given enough attention and direct contact was feared for rapid Coronavirus transmission. So that the ethnographic study of the citizens of Bogor in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic ahead of the Eid al-Fitr was deemed ineffective during the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in Bogor City.

The social system and structure attached to the concept of masculinity is motivated by the ideology of patriarchy and capitalism, causing the phenomenon of toxic masculinity and placing men in an upper and superior position. The purpose of this research is to reveal and get a representation of the toxic masculinity of a film. The representation of toxic masculinity has been socialized, constructed, and strengthened by a film. This research is a qualitative research with Roland Barthes semiotic analysis approach using critical paradigm with masculinity theory approach, toxic masculinity concept, and film as social reality in order to get a representation of toxic masculinity concept. The results of this study indicate that men are displayed according to social construction according to the patriarchal system, where the construction of men should not show emotions and men show anger. In addition to the patriarchal system, the ideology of capitalism is another ideology that influences the depiction of masculine men.

Regional head elections in Indonesia will be held at the end of 2020, to be precise, on December 9, 2020. Quoted from data taken from droneemprit.id, the 'PILKADA' TREND recorded around (175k) conversations on Twitter social media. The main purpose of this study is to examine the political communication that occurs on Twitter social media related to the pros and cons of the implementation of the 2020 Pilkada. Political communication that is built through Twitter social media, can shape public opinion and simultaneously mobilize massive political support, please note that Twitter has a very strong role to influence, and even shape the results of a campaign (Caplan, 2013, 12). The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data collection method in this study is library research. The results of this study show that the pros and cons of holding local elections are common, because through social media, twitter, political communication can occur massively.

The purpose of this study was conducted as an effort to identify the advantages of tourism in Jodipan Tourism Village and Malang City Topeng Village. The identification of these advantages can then be used as a basis in formulating a communication strategy for the development of a strategic plan from“Jodipan Tourism Village and Mask Village” Malang City e. The strategy is formulated based on the local superior sectors and the uniqueness of the community's social environment. This study utilizes a participatory approach and uses qualitative data analysis techniques. In the formulation of a communication strategy for the development of “Jodipan Tourism Village and Mask Village” Malang City, a situation analysis and descriptive analysis were used. The results of the analysis in this study can reveal the various potentials possessed by “Jodipan Tourism Village and Mask Village” Malang City both externally and internally which can be further developed. Strategies that can be applied are emphasized on developing the theme of the Tourism Village which has a unique cultural arts perspective with strong characteristics and is based on the social strength of the community.

This report attempts to explain and criticize gender representation in the gender bender genre drama “Mr. Queen” which overturned gender and its relation to gender discourse in South Korea and in Indonesia. Using Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis, it is evident that the gender representation in “Mr. Queen” is paradoxical; as if offering a gender discourse that breaks the dominant discourse, but in fact it still represents woman as passive subject who continue to be exploited
