Abstract

AbstractThe issue of Jalabi among teachers of Islamic studies in Ilorin metropolis is a socio-religious practice that needs to be properly scrutinized and checked due to the technicalities involved in the teaching-learning process, cultivation of good morals, discipline and character building which are the ultimate aims of the Islamic studies as enshrined in the National Policy on Education. The study examines the impact of Jalabi on the teaching of Islamic studies in senior secondary schools in Ilorin metropolis. A simple random sampling technique was used to sample 30 senior secondary schools across the three senatorial districts of the state and 260 teachers of Islamic studies as sampled in Kwara state. The researcher-designed questionnaire tagged “Impact of Jalabi on Teaching Islamic Studies Questionnaire (IJTISQ)” was used as an instrument for the study Descriptive statistics in the form of tables and percentages were used to describe the demographic data of the respondents and analyze the results obtained from the questionnaire administered. The results showed that a majority of respondents agreed that teachers who engage in Jalabi neglect regular teaching and that it hinders teachers' effectiveness. Additionally, most respondents disagreed that Jalabi practices lead to impressive teaching of Islamic studies. The survey also found that Jalabi practices prevent Islamic studies teachers from marking students' assignments, tests, and other tasks. However, only a small percentage of respondents agreed that teachers who practice Jalabi fail students arbitrarily. This implies that the practice of jalabi among senior secondary school teachers negatively affects the teaching of Islamic studies in Ilorin. It was concluded that the commercialization of Jalabi practices among senior secondary school teachers of Islamic studies hinders effective and efficient teaching of the subject in Ilorin metropolis, Kwara state, Nigeria. Abstract

AbstractThis research discusses the role of Ma'had Al-Jami'ah Walisongo in optimizing Islamic values for new students at Walisongo State Islamic University Semarang. Where UIN Walisongo Semarang is a religious-based university while there are students who have not come from graduates under the auspices of religious institutions. The purpose of this study is to describe the role and also the output that will be obtained by new students of UIN Walisongo Semarang which the impact will be a support during the study period and after becoming a graduate of UIN Walisongo Semarang later. This type of research uses the data analysis method, namely by presenting the research data. The research is qualitative with a literature approach which means, the results of research data from the literature review are collected and then presented in the form of descriptions that aim to detail the data. The results of the research show that Ma'had Al-Jami'ah Walisongo has a very strategic role to support students during their studies and when they become graduates of UIN Walisongo Semarang later.Keywords: The Role of Ma'had, Islamic Values, New Students, Student Islamic Boarding SchoolsAbstrakPenelitian ini membahas peran Ma'had Al-Jami'ah Walisongo dalam mengoptimalkan nilai-nilai keislaman bagi mahasiswa baru di Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo Semarang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peran dan juga output yang akan didapatkan mahasiawa baru UIN Walisongo Semarang yang mana dampaknya akan menjadi penujang selama masa studi maupun setelah menjadi ulusan dari UIN Walisongo Semarang nantinya. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis data yaitu dengan cara menyajikan data hasil penelitian. Penelitian tersebut secara kualitatif dengan pendekatan pustaka yang berarti, hasil data penelitian dari kajian literatur dikumpulkan kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk deskripsi yang bertujuan untuk memperinci data. Abstract

AbstactThe purpose of this study is to describe the efforts of teachers in developing religious materials and implementing methods of habituating religious materials in early childhood in RA Miftahul Anwar Majenang. This qualitative research method prioritizes direct observation with context analysis in observing each event. The data collection method is direct observation of the field, interviews with related teachers, and documentation of religious material habituation activities. The results showed that educators carried out the implementation of habituation methods on religious material through the planning stage by preparing a daily activity plan program followed by the implementation of learning oriented toward mastery of religious material. This study recommends the importance of consistency and continuity of educators in repeating the material that has been delivered to students to improve student behavior for the better. Metode penelitian kualitatif ini mengedepankan pengamatan langsung dengan analisis konteks dalam mengamati setiap peristiwa. Metode dalam pengumpulan data adalah dengan observasi langsung ke lapangan, wawancara dengan guru terkait serta dokumentasi kegiatan pembiasaan materi keagamaan. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksakaan metode pembiasaan pada materi keagamaan dilakukan pendidik melalui tahap perencanaan dengan menyiapkan program rencana kegiatan harian dilanjutkan dengan pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada penguasaan terhadap materi keagamaan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan terkait pentingnya konsistensi dan kontinyuitas pendidik dalam mengulang kembali materi yang telah disampaikan kepada peserta didik untuk meningkatkan perilaku peserta didik agar menjadi lebih baik. Abstract

Abstracts This research aims to explore the implementation of restoring character education system based on Al-Qur'an in SMAIT Nurul Fajri as an effort to actualize the advancement of civilization. SMAIT Nurul Fajri emerges by providing a strong foundation of Islamic teachings in realizing a civil society in the "post-modern" era. Character education based on Al-Qur'an in SMAIT Nurul Fajri is considered as the main instrument in shaping a generation with noble and responsible morals in accordance with Islamic teachings. Qualitative research method was utilized with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results show that SMAIT Nurul Fajri has successfully integrated the values of Al-Qur'an into the academic curriculum and school activities. Various teaching methods, including problem-based learning and group discussions, are employed to convey the values of Al-Qur'an to students. Additionally, extracurricular activities with religious orientations, such as religious studies and Islamic literature discussions, also become an integral part of character education in SMAIT Nurul Fajri. In the context of the school environment, character development efforts are carried out through special programs that emphasize the importance of attitudes and behaviors in accordance with Islamic teachings. Teachers and school staff serve as role models who inspire students to practice the values of Al-Qur'an in their daily lives. However, the research also identifies several challenges, including the need for a deeper understanding of Al-Qur'an among educators and resource limitations. Nevertheless, the conclusion of this research asserts that SMAIT Nurul Fajri has successfully become a model in restoring the character education system based on Al-Qur'an. The implications of this research provide valuable insights for Islamic educational institutions in developing character education rooted in the values of Al-Qur'an as an integral part of advancing civilization.Keywords: Restoration, Character Education System, Al-Qur'an, Civilization Advancement AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi implementasi restorasi sistem pendidikan karakter berbasis Al-Qur'an di SMAIT Nurul Fajri sebagai upaya aktualisasi kemajuan peradaban. SMAIT Nurul Fajri hadir dengan memberikan fondamen ajaran Islam yang kuat dalam mewujudkan Masyarakat madani di abad “post modern”. Pendidikan karakter berbasis Al-Qur'an di SMAIT Nurul Fajri dianggap sebagai sarana utama dalam membentuk generasi yang berakhlak mulia dan bertanggung jawab sesuai dengan ajaran Islam. Metode penelitian kualitatif digunakan dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SMAIT Nurul Fajri telah berhasil mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an dalam kurikulum akademik dan kegiatan sekolah. Berbagai metode pembelajaran, termasuk pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan diskusi kelompok, digunakan untuk menyampaikan nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an kepada siswa. Selain itu, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang berorientasi keagamaan, seperti pengajian dan kajian kitab kuning, juga menjadi bagian integral dari pendidikan karakter di SMAIT Nurul Fajri. Dalam konteks lingkungan sekolah, upaya pembinaan karakter dilakukan melalui program-program khusus yang menekankan pentingnya sikap dan perilaku yang sesuai dengan ajaran Islam. Guru dan staf sekolah berperan sebagai teladan yang menginspirasi siswa untuk mengamalkan nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an dalam kehidupan sehari-hari mereka.Meskipun demikian, penelitian juga mengidentifikasi beberapa tantangan yang dihadapi, termasuk pemahaman yang mendalam tentang Al-Qur'an dari para pendidik dan keterbatasan sumber daya. Namun, kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa SMAIT Nurul Fajri telah berhasil menjadi model dalam restorasi sistem pendidikan karakter berbasis Al-Qur'an. Implikasi dari penelitian ini memberikan wawasan yang berharga bagi lembaga pendidikan Islam dalam mengembangkan pendidikan karakter yang berakar pada nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an sebagai bagian integral dari aktualisasi kemajuan peradaban.Kata Kunci : Restorasi, Sistem Pendidikan Karakter, Al-Qur’an, Aktualisasi Kemajuan Peradaban

Abstract

AbstactThe purpose of this study is to analyze the use of the WhatsApp application as a communication tool between teachers and students in the learning process. Qualitative methods were used in this study with inquiry narrative methods. Data was collected through discussions and interviews and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through reduction, display, and verification stages. The results of this study show that in the learning process, teachers use the WhatsApp application as a medium of communication in learning. Teachers use WhatsApp to support distance learning, namely as a means of education, and a connector of information. According to teachers, the use of the WhatsApp application can increase student participation and involvement in the learning process. Some of the support features provided by the WhatsApp application, namely ease of access and use by most people, and the class group feature. The inhibiting factors are unstable internet connection quality, damaged smartphones or exhausted data packages, and constrained data package costs for underprivileged students This study can be the basis for the government in formulating policies to increase the effectiveness of using the WhatsApp application as a learning medium between teachers and students.Keywords: Islamic Religious Education, Online Learning, WhatsApp, Teacher and Student Communication, PAI Learning.AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan aplikasi WhatsApp sebagai alat komunikasi antara guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan metode naratif inkuiri. Data dikumpulkan melalui diskusi dan wawancara, lalu dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman melalui tahap reduksi, display, dan verifikasi. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam proses pembelajaran guru menggunakan aplikasi WhatsApp sebagai media komunikasi dalam pembelajaran. Guru memanfaatkan WhatsApp dalam mendukung pembelajaran jarak jauh, yaitu sebagai sarana edukasi, dan penyambung informasi. Menurut guru, penggunaan aplikasi WhatsApp mampu meningkatkan partisipasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Beberapa fitur dukungan yang disediakan aplikasi WhatsApp, yaitu kemudahan akses dan digunakan oleh sebagian besar orang, serta adanya fitur grup kelas. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah kualitas koneksi internet yang tidak stabil, rusaknya smartphone atau habisnya paket data, serta terkendalanya biaya paket data bagi siswa kurang mampu Studi ini dapat menjadi dasar bagi pemerintah dalam merumuskan kebijakan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi WhatsApp sebagai media pembelajaran antara guru dan siswa.Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Agama Islam, Pembelajaran Daring, Aplikasi WhatsApp, Komunikasi Guru dan Siswa, Permbelajaran PAI

Abstract

AbstractThis research is grounded in the premise that education's primary objective is to uphold the oneness of God, which requires educators to be skilled in implementing teaching systems. Abdul Muthalib Muhyiddin, in his book Sendi Iman, first published in 1971, also presented a teaching theory, the relevance of which needs to be explored. The aim of this study is to examine Abdul Muthalib Muhyiddin's perspective on teaching systems in Sendi Iman and its relevance to contemporary teaching theories. The study employs a literature review method, encompassing both analysis and synthesis stages. The findings indicate that, according to Abdul Muthalib Muhyiddin, there are five stages of teaching: introduction, statement (explanation), comparison, opinion (conclusion), and application (tathbiq). The planning process involves determining the subject matter, teaching methods, target class, designated time for teaching, objectives of the lesson, and teaching aids. The goal of teaching is for students to independently acquire knowledge and benefit from it as easily as possible. For teaching materials, Abdul Muthalib used Sendi Iman. The teaching methods include lectures, question-and-answer sessions, assignments, recitation, examples, and step-by-step progression. Assessment, as practiced by Abdul Muthalib, is limited to reviewing the day’s lesson. Teaching skills identified include starting and concluding lessons, explaining material, questioning, providing reinforcement, using instructional media, and classroom management.Keywords: Teaching Stages,  Learning Methods, Islamic Education, Abdul Muttalib Muhyiddin, Book of Sendi ImanAbstrakPenelitian ini bertolak dari latar belakang bahwa pendidikan memiliki tujuan utama untuk menjunjung tinggi keesaan Tuhan dan dalam mewujudkannya diperlukan pendidik yang memiliki kepiawaian dalam menerapkan sistem pengajaran. Abdul Muthalib Muhyiddin dalam Kitab Sendi Iman yang pertama kali dicetak pada tahun 1971 turut menyampaikan teori pengajaran sehingga perlu diketahui relevansinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sistem pengajaran perspektif Abdul Muthalib Muhyiddin dalam kitab Sendi Iman dan relevansinya dengan teori pengajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan yang melalui tahapan analisis dan sintesis. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa dalam perspektif Abdul Muthalib Muhyiddin, ada lima tahapan pengajaran yakni pendahuluan, menyatakan (menerangkan), perbandingan, pendapat (kesimpulan), dan persesuaian (tathbiq). Perencanaan terdiri dari mata pelajaran, methodie (cara) mengajar, kelas berapa akan mengajar, waktu yang ditentukan untuk lamanya mengajar, maksud pelajaran itu, dan alat-alat untuk menerangkan pelajaran. Tujuan pengajaran adalah murid dapat berfikir sendiri mencapai pengetahuan dan mengambil faedahnya dengan semudah-mudahnya. Untuk bahan ajar, Abdul Muthalib menggunakan Kitab Sendi Iman. Metode mengajar terdiri dari ceramah, tanya jawab, pemberian tugas dan resitasi, perumpamaan, dan pentahapan. Penilaian yang dilakukan Abdul Muthalib sebatas menanyakan ulang pelajaran pada hari itu. Keterampilan mengajar yang dinyatakan yakni membuka dan menutup pelajaran, menjelaskan materi, bertanya, memberi penguatan, menggunakan media pengajaran, serta mengelola kelas. Abstract

AbstractThrough the latest approaches in the social, economic and political fields, the latest research shows that Islamic religious education can provide a strong foundation for women to develop their potential and achieve gender equality. This research aims to explore the important role of Islamic religious education in empowering women socially, economically and politically, as well as providing a deeper understanding of its contribution to increasing women's participation in society. The research method used is literature research to analyze the role of Islamic religious education in empowering women, including access to education, employment opportunities, health, involvement in political and social decisions in the Islamic religion. Islamic religious education, which is closely related to the teachings of the Koran and hadith as a guide to life and behavior since ancient times, has played an important role in equality between men and women. Abstract

AbstractThis study analyzes the implementation, challenges, and opportunities of using digital-based learning media in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in Junior High Schools (SMP) in Bandung. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 17 PAI teachers from 17 SMPs. The results showed that although conventional learning media such as textbooks and whiteboards are still dominant, there has been a significant increase in digital media such as PowerPoint, videos, and interactive applications such as Quizizz and Wordwall. Internal challenges teachers face include limited technological knowledge, resistance to change, time constraints, and dependence on traditional teaching methods. External challenges include more technological infrastructure, internet network problems, and limited resources. Nevertheless, integrating digital media offers excellent opportunities to improve the quality of learning, develop 21st-century skills, and prepare students for the digital era. This study recommends comprehensive strategies such as teacher training and professional development, institutional support in providing technological infrastructure, and collaboration between teachers, schools, government, and other stakeholders.Keywords: Learning Media, Digital, Islamic Religious Education, Quality of Learning, Junior High SchoolAbstrakPenelitian ini menganalisis implementasi, tantangan, dan peluang penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis digital dalam Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Bandung. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 17 guru PAI dari 17 SMP yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun media pembelajaran konvensional seperti buku paket dan papan tulis masih dominan, terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam penggunaan media digital seperti PowerPoint, video, dan aplikasi interaktif seperti Quizizz dan Wordwall. Tantangan internal yang dihadapi guru meliputi keterbatasan pengetahuan teknologi, resistensi terhadap perubahan, keterbatasan waktu, dan ketergantungan pada metode pengajaran tradisional. Tantangan eksternal mencakup kurangnya infrastruktur teknologi, masalah jaringan internet, dan keterbatasan sumber daya. Meskipun demikian, integrasi media digital menawarkan peluang besar untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21, dan mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi era digital. Studi ini merekomendasikan strategi komprehensif seperti pelatihan dan pengembangan profesional bagi guru, dukungan institusional dalam penyediaan infrastruktur teknologi, serta kolaborasi antara guru, sekolah, pemerintah, dan pemangku kepentingan lainnya. Abstract

AbstractIn the last five years, the project-based learning (PjBL) model has colored the treasury of learning practices in schools and universities. This article discusses the definition, underlying theory, and elements of the PjBL model and its implications for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. A qualitative approach with a library method was chosen as the design, so that references in the form of books, journal articles, and websites that display information about PjBL, PAI, and the relationship between the two are used to be analyzed through the stages of abstraction, interpretation, and conclusion. Based on conceptual research, this article concludes that project-based learning is a learning process that is expanded with investigations and challenges to stimulate the growth and mastery of 21st century skills in students' real lives, which is based on constructivist, social constructivist, experiential, independent, and discovery-based learning theories. In an effort to maximize the performance of project-based learning, model elements such as syntax, reaction principles, social and support systems must be carried out strictly and optimally. An example of a project-based learning design in PAI learning in schools is included in this article as a development of conceptual implications.Keywords: Project Based Learning, Implications, Learning Model, Islamic Religious Education, SchoolAbstrakDalam lima tahun terakhir ini model pembelajaran berbasis projek (PjBL) telah mewarnai khazanah dalam praktik pembelajaran di persekolahan dan perguruan tinggi. Artikel ini membahas tentang definisi, teori yang melatar belakangi, dan unsur-unsur model PjBL serta implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode kepustakaan dipilih sebagai desainnya, sehingga referensi dalam bentuk buku, artikel-artikel jurnal, serta web yang menampilkan informasi tentang PjBL, PAI, dan keterkaitan di antara keduanya digunakan untuk kemudian dianalisis melalui tahap abstraksi, interpretasi, dan disimpulkan. Berdasarkan penelusuran secara konseptual, artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis proyek merupakan proses pembelajaran yang diperluas dengan penyelidikan dan tantangan untuk merangsang pertumbuhan dan penguasaan keterampilan abad 21 dalam kehidupan nyata siswa, yang didasari oleh teori belajar kontruktivis, konstruktivis sosial, eksperiensial, mandiri, dan berbasis penemuan. Dalam upaya memaksimalkan kinerja pembelajaran berbasis proyek, unsur-unsur model seperti sintaks, prinsip reaksi, sistem sosial dan pendukung harus dilakukan secara ketat dan optimal. Contoh rancangan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam pembelajaran PAI di persekolahan disertakan dalam artikel ini sebagai pengembangan implikasi konseptual.
