Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description or description of the mathematical literacy of class VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 19 Palu on statistical material. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were students of class VIIIA SMP Negeri 19 Palu who had a visual learning style with the initials ID and auditory with the initials FR. Data was collected through written tests and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the profile of students who have a visual learning style (ID) in solving statistical problems are: (1) ID identifies any information that is known and asked in the question; (2) ID writes down known data using symbols and writes the average in the form of verbal sentences; (3) ID uses the mean or mean formula and substitutes the appropriate data; (4) ID writes the conclusion correctly. Then, the results of this study also show that the profiles of students who have an auditory learning style (FR) in solving statistical problems are: (1) FR identifies any information that is known and asked in the question; (2) FR writes down the known and average data in the form of verbal sentences; (3) FR uses the mean or mean formula and substitutes the appropriate data; (4) FR writes the conclusion correctly.

Abstract

Pare (Momordica charantia L.) is a plant that grows in the tropics, namely Asia, the Amazon (South America), East Africa and the Caribbean. The bitter taste of this fruit gives rise to several benefits including stimulating appetite, curing jaundice, improving digestion. Bitter taste in bitter melon is caused by the content of momordicosides of the triterpene glucoside group or kukurtibacin. This study aims to determine the levels of flavonoids in bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.). The method used in this research is the maceration extraction method using ethanol as a solvent. The extraction results were analyzed qualitatively by adding Mg and HCl powder to determine the presence of flavonoid compounds. While the quantitative test was carried out using the differential pH method in an acidic atmosphere, namely at pH 1 and pH 4.5. Determination of flavonoid content of bitter melon extract using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at 520 nm and 700 nm wavelengths. The results obtained in the qualitative test showed that the bitter melon extract contained positive flavonoids. The results of the quantitative test showed that the total flavonoid content in the bitter melon extract was 0.41 mg/100 g.

Abstract

Kaledo (donggala ox leg) is one of the famous culinary in Central Sulawesi. The number of restaurants that provide kaledo menus causes problems, due to the lack of utilization of the bone waste, causing problems in the environment. People still don't know that beef bones still contain protein. Protein serves as a form of new tissue during the growth and development of the body. This study aims to determine the protein content of beef bones from kaleo waste from the city of Palu, Central Sulawesi, which was taken randomly from a kaledo restaurant. Determination of protein content in beef bones from kale waste using the Kjeldhal method. In the results of calculations that have been carried out with three repetitions, it was found that the protein content in Repetition1 was 3.85%, Repetition2 was 3.59% and Repetition3 was 4.2%. The average protein content of beef bones from kale waste is 3.88%. The results of this study are expected to be a source of information about the protein content contained in beef bones from kaleo waste and can be used further as a substance in the utilization of bone waste.

Abstract

Steroids are secondary metabolites, steroid compounds can be used as antioxidant and anti-cancer compounds.This study aims to determine the levels of steroids in fruit, flour and chayote biscuits using the maceration extraction method, the determination of levels using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results showed that the steroid levels in each sample were 0.235±0.03 gram/100 g, on chayote flour by 0.435±0.02 gram/100 g, and on chayote biscuits by 0.556±0.04 gram/100 g.

Abstract

Galangal (Alpinia galanga) is a nutritious plant that can cure various diseases. This part of the plant, such as the rhizome, functions as a traditional medicine. This study aims to determine the inhibition of the fungus Candida albicans using galangal extract. Galangal extract was made using three different kinds of the solvents, namely hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol. The suspension of Candida albicans fungus was obtained from the Biology Laboratory, FMIPA, Tadulako University. Fungal test using the well method. The results showed that the inhibitory power of galangal extract against the growth of Candida albicans using ethyl acetate and methanol was greater than that of hexane. Based on observations, the percentage of inhibitory power of galangal extract on the growth of Candida albicans with hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol as solvents was 0% for hexane, 1,70% for ethyl acetate, and 4,70% for methanol.

Abstract

This Study aims to analyze and describe the effectiveness of Online Learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic on Motivation and learning outcomes of Students’ SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo. The Research Method used was Descriptive Quantitative Research. The Subjects of this study consisted of 2 teachers and 171 students. The data collection instruments used were assessment data, interview texts and learning motivation questionnaires. Based on the research and analyze of interviews showed that online learning during Covid-19 pandemic is still less effective in improving Students’ learning than face-to-face learning.  It was shown in the average value of learning outcomes before the pandemic (226.23) which was higher than the average value of learning outcomes during the pandemic (117.77). in addition, it was also found that level of students’ motivation toward online learning was in the positive category with a doubtful attitude, namely 67,34%. The students need to be accustomed to accessing the internet a lot, especially on online learning applications so that students can be trained to use applications when learning so, online learning process becomes effective during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the level of hardness and the degree of acidity (pH) in groundwater in Mapane Tambu Village, Balaesang District, Donggala Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the concentration of the water hardness level and the degree of acidity of the water, complexometric method was used to determine the level of water hardness using three samples and obtained the results of sample A 15.61 mg/L; sample B 9.40 mg/L and sample C 19.22 mg/L, with a total hardness level obtained an average value of 14.74 mg/L classified in the low hardness category. Then the degree of acidity (pH) was measured using the electrometric method with a (pH) meter with three variations of sample results and the results obtained were sample A 7.713; sample B 8,511; sample C 6.916. The determination of the degree of acidity (pH) of the water obtained in the three samples was in accordance with the regulation of PERMENKES Number 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010 concerning the quality of clean water which was in the pH range of 6.5 - 6.8

Abstract

Analysis of Fatty Acid Content of Eel (Anguilla Bicolor) from Lake Poso. Skipsi, Chemistry Education Study Program, Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education, Tadulako University, Palu. Advisor Sri Mulyani Sabang. The purpose of this study was to determine the fatty acid content of eel (Anguilla Bicolor) originating from Lake Poso. The method used to analyze the fat content was the shoxletation extraction method. The results showed that the fat content of eel (Anguilla Bicolor) from Lake Poso = 1.94%. Meanwhile, to determine the fatty acid composition of eel, it was analyzed using gas chromatography with the composition of fatty acids found in eel (Anguilla Bicolor) including saturated fatty acids 51.89%, monounsaturated fatty acids = 42.68%, and unsaturated fatty acids. plural saturation = 7.99%. Eel has many benefits for the human body, eel meat is rich in protein, vitamins, fatty acids, and micro elements (minerals). The content of vitamins in eels include vitamin A, vitamin B1, and vitamin B2, as well as micro elements such as Zn (Zink). In addition to vitamins and micro elements, eels also contain unsaturated weak acids needed by the body, including omega fatty acids which are useful for the development of children's brain cells.

Abstract

This study aims to increase student interest in learning in class X MIPA SMAN 1 Moutong through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions. The method in this study is a quantitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were all students of class X MIPA 1 SMAN 1 Moutong totaling 36 people who were registered in the 2021/2022 academic year. The results showed that before carrying out learning using the Problem Based Learning model on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions, the percentage of student interest in learning was 27.78% or included in the low category. The results of the teacher's observations obtained that the percentage of meeting 1 was 84.61% and the percentage of meeting 2 was 86.53%. The results of student observations obtained an average meeting 1 of 83.12% and an average of meeting 2 of 86.45%. Then after doing learning by applying the Problem Based Learning learning model on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution material, student interest in learning has increased, with the percentage of student interest in learning at 77.78% or in the high category. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions can increase student interest in learning in class X MIPA SMAN 1 Moutong.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the critical thinking skills of students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 5 Palu on the material of Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solutions. This research is a descriptive research. The sample of this study was 60 students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 5 Palu. The data collected was in the form of critical thinking ability test results obtained by giving questions in essay form as many as 7 valid questions. Furthermore, the data collected was analyzed based on indicators of critical thinking skills which include interpretation, analysis, inference, and evaluation respectively 45.50%, 27.08%, 27.08%, and 23.54%. The average result for all indicators of critical thinking ability of students in class XI MIPA is 32.53%. This shows that the critical thinking skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 5 Palu are still lacking.
