Abstract

This study investigates the influence of digital marketing, tuition fees, and word-of-mouth (WOM) promotion on students' decision to choose the Faculty of Economics and Business at Dr Soetomo University. This multi-faceted decision-making process is shaped by various factors, including the interaction between digital marketing efforts, tuition fees, and WOM promotions. This study aims to understand how these factors interact and influence student choice. Using a cross-sectional survey design, data was collected from 100 undergraduate students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Dr Soetomo University. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire distributed online via Google Forms. The results showed that digital marketing alone did not significantly influence students' decision to choose Unitomo. However, tuition fees and WOM have a significant partial impact on student choice. In addition, when considered together, digital marketing, tuition fees, and WOM significantly influence the decision-making process. The most dominant factor influencing students' decision is tuition fees. The implications of these findings suggest that while digital marketing needs to be optimised, conventional methods and word of mouth remain important in influencing student decisions. Universities should consider integrating effective digital marketing strategies with strong word-of-mouth campaigns to enhance their recruitment efforts. This study contributes valuable insights for higher education marketers and policy makers who aim to attract and retain students effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of situational leadership on employee productivity with work environment as a mediating variable at PT Len Industri (Persero), a state-owned enterprise in the defense industry sector. The research method used is quantitative method with associative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees of PT Len Industri (Persero). The research sample was taken using the slovin formula, with a total of 220 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of PLS version 3 software. The results showed that situational leadership has a significant influence on employee work productivity by 3.037. In addition, it was found that work environment acts as a significant mediating variable in the relationship between situational leadership and employee work productivity by 5.980. This means that effective situational leadership can increase employee work productivity directly, as well as through improving the quality of the work environment. This research provides a practical contribution for PT Len Industri (Persero) in implementing an adaptive leadership style and creating a conducive work environment to increase employee work productivity.

Abstract

This paper examines the impact of regulations and policies on the development of e-business in Indonesia. As e-business becomes increasingly integral to the economy, understanding the regulatory environment is crucial for stakeholders, including policymakers, business owners, and consumers. The study explores the current regulatory framework governing e-business in Indonesia, identifying key policies that influence its growth and development. Through qualitative analysis of government regulations, industry reports, and expert interviews, the paper highlights both the supportive and restrictive aspects of these regulations. Findings indicate that while certain policies, such as tax incentives and infrastructure investments, have fostered e-business growth, others, including stringent data protection laws and complex compliance requirements, pose challenges. The research underscores the need for a balanced regulatory approach that promotes innovation while ensuring consumer protection and fair competition. Recommendations are provided for policymakers to enhance the regulatory landscape, suggesting measures such as streamlined compliance processes, enhanced digital literacy programs, and increased collaboration between government and industry stakeholders. Ultimately, this paper aims to contribute to the discourse on how regulations can be optimized to support the sustainable growth of e-business in Indonesia, aligning with broader economic goals and technological advancements.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has revolutionized traditional teaching and learning methodologies, offering significant improvements in curriculum evaluation and development. This study explores the utilization of AI in the evaluation and development of an Outcome-Based Curriculum (OBC). AI technologies, including machine learning algorithms and natural language processing, are employed to analyze vast amounts of educational data, providing insights into student performance and curriculum effectiveness. The research highlights how AI can identify learning gaps, predict student outcomes, and recommend personalized learning paths, thereby enhancing the overall educational experience. By leveraging AI, educators can design more adaptive and responsive curricula that meet the dynamic needs of students and industry standards. The findings suggest that AI-driven tools not only streamline the evaluation process but also facilitate continuous curriculum improvement, ensuring that educational programs remain relevant and outcome-focused. This paper underscores the potential of AI to transform curriculum development practices, promoting a more efficient, data-driven approach to education that aligns with contemporary educational goals and outcomes.

Abstract

Auditors are obliged to examine the information presented in the annual financial report and provide an opinion on the fairness of the financial report, so that the annual financial report can be used as a reliable decision-making tool. Therefore, it is very important to improve the audit quality of financial reports from auditors so that stakeholders can make better decisions. This research aims to test and analyze the effect of audit tenure on audit quality. The data used in this research is secondary data, obtained from annual financial reports. The population and sample in this research are property and reel estate companies listed on the IDX for the 2018-2024 period. The sampling technique for this research uses a purposive sampling technique. The number of samples in this research was 54 companies in the property and reel estate sectors with research sample observations of 77 observations. The analysis technique used to test this research hypothesis is multiple regression with SPSS version 22. The independent variables of this research are audit fees, client size, and audit period. The dependent variable of this research is audit quality. The results of this research indicate that audit fees, client size, and audit period have an influence on audit quality.

Abstract

Technology has greatly influenced commercial activity, particularly in the area of electronic commerce, where products or services can be promoted, marketed, sold and purchased electronically. While this has brought many benefits, it has also raised concerns regarding violating Consumer Rights. Law No. 8 Year 1999 aims to ensure legal certainty in e-commerce transactions. This article discusses the regulation of the legal protection of consumers in e-commerce transactions and the problems that it is facing. The research method is based on a normative legal approach. Written law and literature are examined and related to real events. The analysis conducted is descriptive, collecting data and relating it to real events. It is concluded that consumer protection regulations have not been effective in preventing fraud committed by economic actors in electronic transactions. In order to prevent crimes committed by economic actors and to provide a legal umbrella for consumers, the existence of a consumer protection law is expected.

Abstract

An earthquake shakes the earth’s surface, causing structural damage to buildings, houses, bridges, and highways. Analyzing the earthquake resistance of buildings and Lanna traditional houses in Northern Thailand's active fault zones can mitigate these consequences. This study aimed to: 1) assess the earthquake resistance of buildings and Lanna traditional houses in these zones, and 2) examine the knowledge, preparedness, and practices of Lanna people regarding earthquake-resistant housing. The results revealed that 1.80% of buildings and Lanna traditional houses were not strong enough to withstand earthquakes. However, Lanna people in active fault zones demonstrated a high level of knowledge, preparedness, and practice in earthquake-resistant housing. Lanna traditional houses often use locally available materials like wood, leaves, stone, and bamboo, which are flexible and resilient during earthquakes. These materials are more sustainable than modern construction materials due to their lower environmental impact and cost-effectiveness. Engineers play a crucial role in ensuring homes are earthquake-resistant while preserving the cultural and historical essence of Lanna Thai architecture. By integrating modern engineering practices with traditional design elements, they create homes that are both safe and culturally significant.
