Abstract

This study aims to form the character of Christ in children with special needs so that in their social behavior, they deserve to be treated the same as other children in their right to receive education, including in the church environment. This study attempts to frame the role of Sunday school teachers in instilling the character of Christ in children with special needs in the Pentecostal church environment. The use of qualitative descriptive methods and literature reviews in working on this article is expected to provide an overview of children with special needs, the importance of the character of Christ for children, and the role of Sunday school teachers in instilling the character of Christ in children with special needs in the Pentecostal church environment. It is concluded that Sunday school teachers will play their role optimally when they must be role models, prepare a curriculum with inclusive education that is easy for children to understand, build good communication relationships, and become collaborators for parents or other parties related to children. So that each church also has a special service or mentoring program for children with special needs. This means that in worship, Sunday school teachers have a vital role in forming the Character of Christ in children with special needs by prioritizing fair and wise behavior so that they can inspire parents and other children present.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the way the gospel is spread, presenting new challenges and opportunities for missionaries. The digital age creates cyberspace as a vast and dynamic field of service, so a cyberspace missionary figure is needed who is able to combine the spirit of evangelism with digital skills. This research aims to identify the profile of cyber missionaries and the strategies used in spreading the gospel in the digital realm. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews and digital content analysis of several missionaries active on social media platforms. The results show that cyber missionaries rely not only on theological knowledge, but also digital technology and communication skills that are adaptive to new trends. The novelty of this research lies in the comprehensive mapping of digital missionary profiles as well as the emphasis on creativity and ethical aspects in digital ministry. The findings make an important contribution to the development of effective mission strategies in the ever-changing digital age. The implications of this study highlight the importance of training and capacity building for digital missionaries to be more effective in spreading the gospel in the technological age.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a conceptual framework to strengthen religious moderation through Christian Religious Education, specifically addressing the digital native generation and the challenges of digital extremism. Motivated by Generation Z's tendency to seek religious information through digital media-which increases their vulnerability to extremism and this study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach. Data were collected from various relevant sources, analyzed through thematic categorization and descriptive interpretation, and validated using source triangulation to ensure reliability. The results identified four theoretical strategies: Digital Counter-Narrative Workshop, Interfaith Digital Dialogue, Digital Storytelling, and Faith-Based Digital Citizenship Certification. The novelty of this study lies in integrating the principles of religious moderation-rooted in Christian values such as love and Imago Dei-into a digital learning framework adapted to the characteristics of the digital native generation, thereby addressing gaps in previous research lacking a comprehensive approach. This research provides implications for the development of religious education concepts relevant to the digital age, reinforcing the role of PAK in shaping a solid and harmonious faith identity amid diversity, and preventing exposure to extremist content that could distort the religious understanding of young Christians

Abstract

Abstract:This study investigates the interwoven dimensions of prophetic spirituality, ministry, and the proclamation of tiqvah le-mashiach (תִּקְוָה לַמָּשִׁיחַ)—the hope of the Messiah—within the theological framework of the Hebrew Scriptures. It examines how prophetic experiences, such as divine visions and vocational struggles, shaped their roles as mediators of God's will and as heralds of justice, repentance (teshuvah / תְּשׁוּבָה), and covenant renewal. Through a qualitative and hermeneutical approach, the research engages in a theological analysis of selected prophetic texts, particularly from the books of Isaiah (Yeshayahu / יְשַׁעְיָהוּ) and Jeremiah (Yirmeyahu / יִרְמְיָהוּ), uncovering a rich spiritual tradition grounded in unwavering obedience, moral reform, and eschatological hope. The findings reveal that prophetic spirituality was not an isolated religious experience but a deeply embodied response to divine calling, marked by a commitment to mishpat (מִשְׁפָּט – justice), chesed (חֶסֶד – steadfast love), and tsedeq (צֶדֶק – righteousness). The Messianic prophecies articulated by the prophets are shown to be both historically situated and theologically enduring, expressing a vision of restoration, sacrificial leadership, and divine sovereignty. This study contributes to ongoing theological discourse by emphasising the enduring relevance of prophetic witness and offering a framework for integrating spirituality, ministry, and eschatology in contemporary faith contexts. Its distinctive contribution lies in its integrative theological reflection, which views prophetic ministry as a model for transformative spiritual engagement.

Abstract

Abstract:The learning of spirituality in Christian Religious Education (CRE) is often trapped in cognitive-informative patterns without regard to relational and contextual depth. This article responds to the need for a more integrative and applicable Christian learning practice by exploring the Shema of Israel (Deut. 6:4-9) as a conceptual basis. The formulation of the problem raised is: how can the principles of spirituality learning in Shema Israel be constructed as a contextualised CRE learning practice? The purpose of this research is to construct Biblical text-based spirituality learning using a hermeneutic method through a theo-pedagogical approach for contextual Christian education. This research uses a literature study method by putting the theoretical concept on the theory of faith growth from John H. Westerhoff III. The research found four dimensions of religious learning from the Shema of Israel, namely relational, repetitive, visual, and rhythmic. These four dimensions can be implemented in contextual CRE through intergenerational practices, sustainable pedagogy, visualisation of learning design and integration of faith in the context of life. This research recommends learning practices that build relationships, are continuously repeated, visualised and embedded in the rhythm of daily life as a living and meaningful expression of faith.

Abstract

Abstract:The moral degradation of Generation Z poses a challenge for society and the church due to the increasing identity crisis, inconsistency with ethics, and even the weakening of spiritual orientation in their lives. This condition is exacerbated by rapid digital cultural changes, so that traditional Christian leadership mentoring patterns are no longer able to respond to the moral development needs of the younger generation. As a result, the church needs an integrative approach that combines pastoral counselling and Christian leadership spirituality to facilitate the formation of Christian character and values. This study aims to examine in depth the integration of pastoral counselling and Christian leadership spirituality as a relevant approach in addressing the moral degradation of Generation Z. It uses a qualitative-descriptive method with a literature study approach. The results show that the integration of pastoral counseling and Christian leadership spirituality provides a solid theological foundation for forming an assistance approach that holistically touches on the psychological and spiritual aspects of Generation Z. Through a deep understanding of the dynamics of moral degradation and the application of an integrative model that includes counselling, spiritual guidance, and leadership role models, the church obtains a relevant and transformative intervention pattern. The implementation of this model in church ministry enables the creation of sustainable moral restoration and the strengthening of the capacity of Christian leaders in guiding the younger generation to face the complexities of digital culture.

Abstract

Abstract:This study aims to explore a theo-pedagogical model of Christian learning based on the Israeli Shema as a foundational framework for contextual Christian education. The research seeks to identify how the core theological principles embedded in the Shema—particularly its emphasis on covenantal obedience, holistic devotion, and intergenerational transmission of faith—can inform learning practices that are more relevant to contemporary educational settings. Employing a qualitative descriptive method supported by an in-depth literature review, this study analyses biblical-theological interpretations of the Shema alongside recent scholarly discussions in Christian pedagogy. The findings reveal that the Shema provides a comprehensive learning paradigm that integrates cognitive, affective, and practical dimensions of faith formation, emphasising the unity of belief, daily practice, and community life. The novelty of this study lies in its systematic integration of the Shema’s theological structure with contextual Christian education, offering a fresh framework that bridges ancient Israelite pedagogy and modern learning needs. The study’s implications highlight the urgency for Christian educators to adopt relational, life-oriented, and community-based learning approaches that foster deep spiritual formation and nurture holistic Christian identity within diverse and evolving educational contexts.

Abstract

Abstract:The rapid advancement of humanoid technologies and artificial intelligence has raised significant ethical and theological questions, particularly within the Christian context. This study examines the development of humanoid technology through the lens of Christian theology, focusing on the concept of Imago Dei and principles of digital ethics. Drawing on qualitative, literature-based analysis, the research explores how the spiritual, moral, and relational dimensions of humanity cannot be authentically replicated by artificial agents. The study also highlights potential risks associated with humanoid technology, including manipulation, bias, and erosion of human dignity. By integrating theological reflection with digital ethical principles, the research proposes guidelines for responsible design, deployment, and interaction with humanoid systems. Emphasis is placed on preserving human dignity, promoting justice, and ensuring that technological innovation serves the common good. The findings underscore the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration among theologians, ethicists, and technologists to align technological progress with moral and spiritual values. This approach provides a normative framework for ethically coherent and theologically informed humanoid development.

Abstract

Abstract:This study explores the spiritual expressions of Deaf communities within GERKATIN South Kalimantan and examines how non-verbal forms of worship function as authentic manifestations of Christian and religious spirituality. The research aims to understand how Deaf individuals articulate their faith in the absence of auditory and verbal communication, and how their embodied, visual, and relational expressions form a meaningful spiritual experience. Using a qualitative research design, the study employs interviews, observations, and document analysis to investigate the lived experiences of Deaf individuals, focusing on their religious participation, social challenges, and alternative modes of expressing faith. The findings reveal that Deaf spirituality is shaped significantly by visual engagement, bodily expression, sign language, and communal relationships, all of which serve as powerful vehicles of meaning-making in their religious life. The study identifies a notable gap in public facilities, inclusive worship spaces, educational access, and pastoral support that continues to marginalise the Deaf community. The novelty of this research lies in its articulation of Deaf spirituality as a legitimate locus of theological reflection—demonstrating that silence, embodiment, and visuality are not deficiencies but rich spiritual resources. The implications of this study call for broader ecclesial and societal transformation, encouraging churches, religious leaders, and policymakers to adopt inclusive practices, integrate sign language and visual liturgy, and affirm Deaf individuals as full participants in spiritual and communal life.
