Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the concept and implementation of character education in early childhood, particularly in preschool education settings. The research approach used is qualitative, with a case study method applied to several early childhood education institutions in Indonesia. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of learning activities. The research findings indicate that the success of character education in early childhood is influenced by various factors, including the role of educators, the learning methods applied, and support from the family and school environment. Educators play a central role in introducing character values through positive behavior modeling and approaches tailored to the child’s developmental stage. Play-based and storytelling learning methods have been found to be effective in helping children understand and internalize these values. This journal also identifies challenges in the implementation of character education, including educators’ lack of understanding of basic principles of character education and limited time to fully implement a character curriculum. This highlights the need for better training programs and support for educators to help them understand and develop effective character education strategies. In conclusion, character education in early childhood requires a collaborative approach between schools and families to ensure children receive consistent and sustainable character learning. Thus, this study recommends strengthening partnerships between schools and families, as well as adjusting the curriculum to be more flexible so that character values can be taught optimally.

Abstract

One important component of learning is the assessment or evaluation process. Most evaluations will use items as tests, but not necessarily all items used are of high quality due to unvalidated difficulty levels. This article aims to provide an understanding of item difficulty and how to measure it as well as the importance of analysing item difficulty in language learning tests. The method used in this article is a literature review that examines the application of analysing the difficulty level of test items in language learning and its importance for learning. The results obtained are that it is important to analyse the level of difficulty of the questions to determine the quality of the test so that it can be feedback for learning; increase the validity and reliability of the test, adjust students' abilities, and improve the quality of the test for the next time. The formula used in item analysis includes a difficulty index denoted by the letter P (proportion), with an interval of 0.30-0.70 said to be a good question (enough).

Abstract

This study aims to improve the practical performance of Maritime Vocational High School students through the Explicit Instruction model, focusing on enhancing competencies in safety and basic navigation of shipping. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with the Kemmis and Taggart model, consisting of three cycles including planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 25 students from class XI of the Nautical Ship Commerce major at SMK Poetra Samudra. Data were collected through observation sheets and practical assessments covering aspects of work preparation, work knowledge, and work skills, verified by maritime industry instructors. The results of the cycle evaluations showed a model effectiveness level of 88% (very good category), with significant improvements in competency scores from cycle I to cycle III, particularly in work skills (56.3% increase). Limited trials indicated that the implementation of the Explicit Instruction model had a positive impact on improving students' practical competencies, especially in procedural skills and safety procedures, with an average score increase to 3.6 (very good category). Teacher and student responses to the model were also in the very positive category, as reflected in increased engagement and discipline during practice sessions. Therefore, this learning model is deemed effective, systematic, and contextual for implementation in maritime vocational education to enhance technical competencies and professional work readiness.

Abstract

The article aimed to train teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Gadingrejo in implementing the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework in classroom learning. Rapid technological advancements require teachers to continuously update their technological competencies to effectively support teaching and learning processes. The quality of learning is determined not only by teachers’ mastery of subject matter and pedagogical skills but also by their ability to integrate technology meaningfully into instruction. Moreover, the use of educational technology contributes to the development of students’ digital literacy and critical thinking skills. The training introduced two technological tools: Google Classroom as a web-based digital learning platform and Adobe Animate as software for developing engaging and interactive learning media. The results indicated that all participating teachers were able to utilize Google Classroom effectively as a digital learning platform. However, additional training is required for Adobe Animate, as many participants experienced difficulties, particularly in understanding ActionScript. This article contributes to strengthening teachers’ TPACK competencies by providing practical training in digital learning platforms and interactive media development, thereby supporting innovative learning practices aligned with 21st-century education demands.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of proactive personality, psychological capital, and perceived organizational support on innovative work behavior, with knowledge sharing as a mediating variable. Mediation testing focuses on the relationship between perceived organizational support and innovative work behavior to understand the social mechanisms that drive employee innovative behavior. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique with a minimum working time of 1 year as the criteria, the population in this study was 315 and the sample used in the analysis was 190 employees from three hotels in Purwokerto. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a 5 point likert scale, then data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). the result showed that proactive personality and psychological capital had no effect on innovative work behavior, while perceived organizational support and knowledge sharing had a positive and significant effect on innovative work behavior. Furthermore, the result of the mediation test demonstrated that only knowledge sharing significantly mediated the relationship between perceived organizational support and innovative work behavior. This finding confirm that, in addition to individual factors, sosial and work environment factors such as organizational support and a culture of knowledge sharing are important in fostering innovatiion in the evolving hospitality workplace

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a fundamental role in shaping children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and moral capacities, yet many learning models still separate the development of creativity from character formation. This paper examines the integration of the STEAM learning model with the local wisdom of Maja Labo Dahu from the Dana Mbojo community as an innovative and culturally relevant approach to early childhood education. The study aims to analyze how STEAM, with its emphasis on exploration, creativity, and problem-solving, can be aligned with values of honesty, responsibility, respect, and constructive self-awareness embodied in Maja Labo Dahu, and how this integration contributes to children’s creativity and character development. Using a qualitative descriptive library research method, the study systematically reviews journal articles, books, research reports, and official documents selected purposively based on relevance and academic credibility. Data were analyzed through content analysis to synthesize conceptual linkages among STEAM, cultural values, creativity, and character. The findings indicate that the integration of STEAM with Maja Labo Dahu creates a holistic learning environment that enhances children’s creative thinking while grounding their actions in ethical and culturally meaningful values. STEAM activities become more contextual when infused with cultural narratives, modeling, habituation, and collaborative learning that reinforce moral awareness and social competence. The study concludes that this integrative model is highly relevant for Indonesian early childhood education, as it bridges global competencies with local cultural identity, enriches pedagogical practices, and provides a theoretical contribution to culturally responsive and ethnopedagogical learning frameworks

Abstract

Digital transformation through the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly changing the dynamics of modern work and creating new psychological risks for employees. This study aims to analyze the influence of AI Adoption on Depression, as well as to test the role of Psychological Safety as a mediator and Ethical Leadership as a moderator in this relationship. Using a quantitative approach with SEM-PLS, this study involved 195 employees from the financial sector, selected through purposive sampling with a minimum tenure of one year. The results show that AI adoption has a positive effect on depression and also has an impact on psychological safety. Furthermore, psychological safety has an insignificant effect on depression and mediates the relationship between AI adoption and depression. On the other hand, ethical leadership has a positive effect on psychological safety but does not moderate the of AI adoption on psychological safety. These findings indicate that psychological stress due to technology adoption is more influenced by AI-based work demands than leadership factors. Practically, this study emphasizes the importance of strengthening a psychologically safe work environment to minimize the negative impacts of digitalization and support employee mental well-being.
