Abstract

Goyor Woven Sarong Industry in North Wanarejan Village, Pemalang, was introduced by Tasman in 1942. At that time, the tool used was a non-machine weaving tool (ATBM). The people were then interested and followed in Tasman's footsteps to become weaving artisans. From 1942 to 1986, the existence of the handicraft industry was not constant; in 1987, the woven sarong industry started to rise, marked by the emergence of the home industry. In 2002, when North Wanarejan village was formed, the weaving industry developed significantly, marked by an increase in the number of weaving entrepreneurs. In 2017, North Wanareja was designated as a Tourism Village called “Kate Sargoy”. The Goyor woven sarong industry has had a positive economic and social impact in North Wanarejan. Many people work in the woven sarong industry. The workers earn higher wages than the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR) in Pemalang. They gain welfare while working in this sarong industry. The woven sarong industry also encourages the growth of a close relationship between employers and workers. The existence of this industry changes the women's role to become more productive.

Abstract

The problem that the authors examine is whether the implementation of the Wandalea customs and postamble in the modern era in the adat implementation process is still by last year's implementation or whether there have been several processes removed to reconstruct the implementation of adat and discussions regarding the implementation of Wandalea customs and postamble and the values contained in the process when the implementation of the adat Vandalia and posambu included items and tools used at the time of the implementation of adat, the authenticity of the tools remained or had been replaced with more modern tools compared to before. In the implementation of the Wandalea and Posambu adat, several things need to be considered; there is no debate because these two customs are still the same as last year; both were carried out only at that time. Again, some tools are replaced with woven baskets shaped like baskets and replaced with bamboo-woven plastic bags that are no longer approved. The problem that I will examine is how the process of implementing wandalea and posambu, as well as the objectives of carrying out traditional wandalea and posambu and values contained in the process during the implementation of wandalea and posambu customs for the Buton Wally Tribe in Kahena Hamlet, Batu Merah, Sirimau District, Ambon City. Then, to filter the data in the field, the author uses observations and vice versa; observations are made to observe the process of implementing the Wandalea and Posambu customs and the impacts that occur if they do not carry out the process, while the author interviews with traditional leaders and community leaders in Kahena Hamlet, Batu Merah. The results obtained in this study, namely the Wandalea and Posambu customs, were carried out by the people of Buton Wally as a form of gratitude for the gift Allah SWT gave for adding new family members. Indigenous Vandalia and posambu become an obligation that must be carried out for couples waiting for new family members' arrival. The impact of adat Vandalia and posambu when it is not implemented is that children born from the womb of the mother will experience disability, abnormalities and other adverse effects. It must be underlined that this traditional procession is carried out on the first child of a married couple and is not done for the next child.

Abstract

Since ancient times, the Malays have been known as a maritime community, predominantly inhabiting the western part of the Archipelago. Unbeknownst to many, they have played an active role in fostering social relations and building solidarity, contributing to forming a unified nation-state, with the Malay language serving as a vital symbol of this unity. This paper explores the role of the Malay language and Malay relations in building solidarity among the peoples of the Archipelago. To address these questions, the paper aims to (1) Explain the role of the Malay language as a cultural symbol that unites various tribes and nations within the Archipelago, (2) Discuss how Malay history and culture have strengthened national integration, and (3) Examine the consensus that legitimized Indonesian as the language of unity. The data and information in this paper are derived from a literature review of various research reports, book reviews, and documents to describe relevant theories and information from the past and present. These resources are then organized for analysis. The study results indicate that the relations among Malays in the Archipelago, particularly in trade and culture, have effectively built solidarity among tribes, ethnicities, and groups. This solidarity, primarily facilitated through the symbol of the Malay language, has had positive implications for forming a nation-state.

Abstract

This study aims to trace the evolutionary history of the internet across generations, culminating in the fifth generation (5G). Over the last decade, internet technology has undergone rapid development. Each generation of internet technology—1G, 2G, 3 G, 4G, and 5G—comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages. This article provides an overview of the features and specifications of these internet generations. It examines when Indonesia first adopted internet technology, including identifying the figure known as the "father of the internet" in Indonesia. The internet serves as a medium through which people access information from distant places they may never visit in person. It has become an essential communication tool, enabling connections at any time and from any location. The internet is also instrumental in simplifying human tasks. As inherently social beings, humans find it difficult to detach from social media, relying on the internet for activities such as browsing, chatting, and online learning, all of which have become integral to daily life.

Abstract

This study is titled Traditional Ports on Ambon Island and Their Existence for the People of Maluku. The research problems addressed in this study are as follows: How have the traditional ports of Ambon Island developed? And to what extent do these ports contribute to enhancing community mobility? The research method employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The purpose of this study is to apply maritime history research using historical research methods. By using an approach that considers development and social mobility, the study aims to produce a historical work that is not only descriptive-narrative but also analytical-structural. It is also hoped that this research will contribute to the enrichment of Maluku historiography, which still needs to be more sparse. Practically, this study will be useful, especially for government practitioners and policymakers, particularly in regional government agencies related to this issue. It will also be valuable for local government, especially in the Ambon Island and Lease Islands area, and for the people of Ambon City in general. Through a study of community development and change, this research can inform steps and policies to advance the community in the future without losing local wisdom.
