Abstract

Tradisi sembahyang rebut merupakan tradisi kepercayaan umat Konghucu sebagai tradisi sembahyang arwah leluhur yang diselenggarakan pada tanggal 15 bulan ke tujuh. Perayaan ini dipercaya oleh masyarakat pada bulan ini pintu alam baka/neraka akan terbuka dan arwah yang berada didalamnya akan turun ke dunia manusia dan pulang ke keluarga masing-masing. Dalam penelitian ini juga akan melihat bagaimana makna yang terkandung melalui komunikasi verbal dan non-verbal yang terkandung dalam tradisi sembahyang rebut yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif menggunakan teori circuit of culture yang akan diimplementasikan dalam tradisi sembahyang rebut dengan melihat representasi, identitas, regulasi, konsumsi, dan produksi yang dimiliki dan hubungannya dalam setiap prosesi tradisi sembahyang rebut. Hasil dari penelitian diperoleh wujud penghormatan kepada leluhur dan Thien berdasarkan dengan firman yang tertulis dalam agama Konghucu.

Abstract

TikTok is a popular social media platform and has become a place for users to share. The popularity of Tiktok social media can be a forum for Indonesian content creators to be creative and have a positive influence on their followers. The aim of this research is to find out how followers perceive the content celebrating National Waste Awareness Day shared by the Tiktok Pandawara Group account using the basis of stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) theory. The approach to this research uses a descriptive quantitative approach using a positivistic paradigm and survey methods. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a total sample of 280 respondents. The calculated results for the reliability test were 0.919, the validity test was 0.772 and the correlation test was 0.654. The results of the research show that followers' perceptions of the National Waste Day Celebration content on the Pandawaragroup Tiktok account are positive. This is in accordance with the assumptions of the Stimulus-Organism-Response theory depicted in this research, where the stimulus in the form of National Waste Awareness Day video content provided can be well received by followers.

Abstract

  This research discusses the analysis of North Sumatra TVRI and RRI broadcast programs ahead of the 2024 presidential and legislative elections. The elections will be held on February 14 2024. The event will be held to elect the President, Vice President, members of the DPR, Provincial DPRD, Regency/City DPRD, members DPD, as well as regional head elections (Governor, Regent, Mayor). The research method used is a qualitative method using desk study and field study techniques, that is, research using the method of collecting data from information as well as carrying out analysis and re-examining secondary data. The results of research by TVRI and RRI have created many programs ahead of the 2024 elections, both at the central and regional levels. Presenting news with the theme "People's Choice" which provides information to the Indonesian people regarding election preparations. The target of this program is to provide information and educate the public about elections so that people can use their voting rights as well as possible. With efforts to provide education to the public so that the 2024 election will be a good election.

Abstract

The situation that shows Soegi Bornean can gain popularity quickly even though the condition of the music industry in Semarang is still inferior to several other cities, indicates that the band applies public relations strategies with external parties to improve its image which has an impact on popularity. So, the formulation of this problem is to describe these indications using John A. Ledingham's relationship management theory. The research method used is qualitative with case studies. The results showed that Soegi Bornean achieved popularity in a short time because it carried out relationship management activities with external parties, such as aggregators and fanbases. In its implementation, Soegi Bornean applies the principles of relationship management and SMARTS model very well until have a positive quality. Therefore, it has an impact on increasing Soegi Bornean's popularity where a public recognises Soegi Bornean as a music group that has physical attractiveness, attractiveness of work, positive personnel characteristics, and is active in the community.

Abstract

Company public relations has a strategic role, especially in the context of communication and information distribution. This research will explore PT Angkasa Pura I's public relations strategy in utilizing Instagram as a digital transformation medium, with the hope of providing a deeper understanding of the company's efforts to communicate and disseminate information through social media. The purpose of this research is to describe PR strategies PT Angkasa Pura I General Ahmad Yani International Airport in disseminating information and communication in the era of digital transformation, especially through social media Instagram @semarangairport. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The theories used are Public Relations, Digital Transformation, Social Media and PESO. The results of this research show that the Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura I General Ahmad Yani International Airport Semarang has implemented a digital transformation strategy through Instagram by applying the PESO theory (Paid, earned, shared, owned) in disseminating information and communicating with the public.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan maskulinitas laki-laki melalui karakter Dom dalam film Jakarta vs Everybody. Perkembangan sosial laki-laki menghasilkan konsep maskulinitas. Gagasan tentang kejantanan memang sering dikaitkan dengan kekuatan dan agresivitas. film ini menceritakan kisah nyata seorang pemuda di Jakarta yang mencoba mencapai impiannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis semiotik sebagai strategi penjelasan subjektif. Studi ini menggunakan analisis data semiotik Roland Barthes, yang terdiri dari tiga tingkat pemeriksaan, yaitu denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa karakter utama dalam film Jakarta vs Everybody, Dom, memiliki enam dari tujuh konsep kejantanan yang diungkapkan oleh Janet Saltzman Chafetz, meliputi: 1) Penampilan Fisik: kuat, maskulin, atletis, dan berani. 2) Fungsional: bertanggung jawab dan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dirinya sendiri. 3) Seksual: ketertarikan terhadap wanita. 5) Intelektual: penalaran yang berwawasan luas, logis, waras, dan obyektif. 6) Interpersonal: penuh perhatian, mempunyai jiwa inisiatif dan menguasai. 7) Karakter personal lainnya: ambisius.

Abstract

The momentum of the 2024 presidential election is an interesting study to thoroughly explore the editorial policy of Harian Jogja in presenting news. The reference of this research is the editorial policy according to Abrar's opinion (2019). The aim is to find out the editorial policy of Harian Jogja in presenting the news of the 2024 Presidential Election in October-November 2023 by applying a qualitative approach to the case study method and data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study revealed that the editorial policies applied by Harian Jogja are (1)National news sources come from part of the Indonesian Business Group and subscriptions to the Antara News news agency; (2)Harian Jogja strengthens newspaper content in the news through images and infographics; (3)News placement is on the main news page; (4)The character of news writing must include the full name and email of the news writer; (5)Journalists of Harian Jogja must comply with general writing guidelines from PWI, the 5W + 1H principle, have news value, and grammar according to KBBI and PUEBI standards; (6)General policies related to journalistic regulations, guidelines, and rules, such as the Journalistic Code of Ethics and the Press Law.

Abstract

Drama is a form of social reality and elevates the reality of society. The drama tells about the family. The family is the first place for children to communicate. Parents play an important role in educating and determining the child's future. In family communication, children get different communication patterns, namely: authoritarian, democratic, and permissive. This phenomenon is found in the Korean drama The Good Bad Mother 2023. The drama is a family drama that tells the story of a mother educating her son hard to succeed in becoming a prosecutor. The child succeeds in becoming a prosecutor and has an accident that paralyzes his entire body and only remembers at the age of seven. Their relationship restarts from non-intimate to intimate. This research is a qualitative research with content analysis method. Data collection techniques with observation and documentation of episodes three and four. The findings in this study show that Young Soon uses authoritarian communication patterns in episode three and their relationship progresses from intimate to intimate.

Abstract

Currently, films have educational capabilities, namely the use of films in the world of education, to be able to convey messages to the audience. One film that has a message about the issue of sexual violence in Indonesia is the film titled "Like & Share". This film conveys many moral messages, thus depicting the situation regarding sexual violence. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the content analysis of sexual violence in the film "Like & Share" using a quantitative descriptive content analysis method. The results of the discussion include:(1) verbal violence with indicators such as swearing, threatening, coercing, and seducing, (2) physical violence with indicators such as rape, demeaning facial expressions, abuse, and poking, (3) gender-based cyber violence with indicators such as video spreading, photo spreading, voice pornography, child grooming, and cyberbullying,  (4) Psychological violence with indicators such as suicide, self-isolation, uncontrolled emotions, and loss of self-confidence.

Abstract

This research investigates the widespread and even impact phenomenon generated by the audience's enthusiasm for YouTube content presented by Nessie Judge. Nessie Judge's unique narrative style has successfully sparked strong enthusiasm among YouTube subscribers, who eagerly await each episode of her content with excitement. This study holds significant significance as it examines Nessie's storytelling ability, often supported by compelling evidence and presented from a deep perspective. The horror genre in the story "Cerita KKN Desa Penari" ("The Story of Village Penari's Internship Program") is effectively conveyed through the use of background sound that creates tension, providing an intense experience for listeners. This phenomenon is not merely entertainment; it also encourages viewers to actively participate in the story interpretation process. Through the application of the six Critical Media Literacy (CML) concepts in analyzing media content, this research emphasizes the importance of critical media literacy as a tool to navigate the complex world of information. Critical media literacy offers profound insights and the ability to see beyond the presented message, which becomes increasingly crucial in an era deeply connected to media. This research encourages a deeper understanding that goes beyond the surface meanings of media messages. Through critical analysis, this study provides the potential for audiences to become more critical in understanding and interacting with media. This research provides profound insights into the impact of media content, particularly from Nessie Judge. However, factors influencing the audience's level of critical understanding of this content remain. The research underscores the importance of critical media literacy in facing the evolving media era, enabling audiences to interpret media messages in a more informed and critical manner. The contribution of this study has a significant impact on the development of knowledge, especially in the cultivation of critical understanding of media content and its role in the evolution of the modern media environment.
