Abstract

The development of Gili Iyang as a new tourist destination has quite complex problems, one of which is due to mutual claims to the oxygen location point between the people of Bancamara Village and Banraas Village. Therefore, this research aims to prevent conflicts of interest between the two villages using a collaborative communication approach. This research uses qualitative methods, including observation and interview data collection methods. The results of this study show that 1) The collaboration process can occur through open communication. 2) Conflict prevention of Gili Iyang tourism management can be done through several stages: consensus, mediation, deliberation, peace declaration, and direct perception. 3) The role of collaborative communication in the joint management of Gili Iyang tourism is based on the willingness to share understanding, open dialog, commit to goals, and build trust. 4) A collaborative communication strategy is built dynamically to increase participation and willingness to build a shared understanding of the importance of joint management.

Abstract

Setiap fenomena yang hadir dalam masyarakat dan membentuk sebuah kebiasaan merupakan cara yang dapat dihadirkan untuk menarik suatu makna dan manfaat secara signifikan. Dengan tindakan yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat, dalam hal ini kaum milenial yang memilki keleluasaan dalam mengapresiasi diri, maka segala tindakan yang dilakukan dalam menentukan identitas dirinya dengan cara memanfaatkan pakaian yang dikenakan. Memperhatikan budaya thrifting secara menyeluruh, perlu dilandasi dengan adanya kesadaran secara utuh, generasi muda dapat melihat tindakan mereka dalam memenuhi tuntutan zaman, dalam hal ini tuntutan dalam bertindak secara penuh pada hadirnya kesadaran. Dengan segala bentuk dan keterbatasannya, ruang- ruang komunikasi selalu hadir dan diberi maknanya pada kesadaran. Oleh sebab itu kesadaran menjadi kunci yang dapat ditarik menjadi kunci utama, dengan mengangkat teori transformasi kesadaran dalam perspektif yang lebih luas. Melalu sudut pemahaman Reza Antonius Wattimena, makna kesadaran untuk melihat budaya thrifting tersebut menjadi sesuatu yang lebih fleksibel dan menyesuaikan kondisi, pemahaman mengenai budaya thrifting dapat dijadikan sebagai pijakan terkait orang yang mampu menghadirkan penilaian positip dan dewasa secara menyeluruh.

Abstract

The Middle Eastern media generally promotes the dignity of women more. The issues facing women who have endured conflict or sexual assault are constantly brought up in the news and widely distributed through movies. Discourse based on media culture demonstrates how firmly the Middle East supports the rights and dignity of women. The desire of the media to demonstrate the strength and might of a nation, a person, or a viewpoint is directly tied to the political and economic interests of this. Power relations are actually depicted in Middle Eastern media by a culture that has evolved from generation to generation. Unlike before the movement to uphold women’s rights, men's right to express their masculinity is now limited. This is the state of the art in scientific writings that take a media, political economy, and history approach to studying Middle Eastern media culture. Researchers in Indonesia still hardly ever use qualitative research methodologies that take a media political economy perspective with four units of analysis, including history, social totality, morality, and praxis orientation, that are connected to media cultures outside of Indonesia (the Middle East). The goal of this study was to determine the Middle Eastern countries' power structures based on their publicized media cultures. The Middle East is particularly receptive to industrialization that helps women, as shown by historical characteristics of the region that produce films and news about women's fights that women always win over males. Furthermore, the Middle East is home to a large number of female political figures, demonstrating that the media's political economy interests in promoting women are upheld there.

Abstract

Aeng Tong-tong Village, Saronggi District, Sumenep Regency is one of the villages that has the largest keris craftsmen in the world. However, it was recently discovered that the participation of village youth in preserving keris was starting to erode and they did not have a good level of concern, which can be seen from their participation in keris craft activities which continued to fade. Based on this problem formulation, this research focuses on the visualization of keris in the form of video documentaries as a new approach to increasing awareness of the youth of Aeng Tong-tong Village towards keris crafts. This research uses a development method that is oriented towards the development of a product whose development process is described carefully through a documentary video product. The results of this research show 1) Documentary video as a medium for socializing the value of the Sumenep keris, 2) Documentary video as a medium of learning and knowledge, 3) Keris documentary video as a means of motivating village youth, 4) Documentary video as a media empowerment innovation.

Abstract

People with disabilities are still often faced with stigma and negative stereotypes from society, they often experience difficulty communicating with other people. These communication difficulties create obstacles in building strong social relationships, so that communication becomes the most important aspect of interactions for people with disabilities. Communication has an important role as a process of creating relationships in social life, including romantic relationships. The importance of communication in romantic relationships has been the focus of this research which aims at exploring the progression of relationships between deaf-hearing couples based on social penetration theory. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with semi-structured interviews with four deaf-hearing couples. Data validity was guaranteed through source triangulation and analysis using coding. The results will describe the progression of the romantic relationship of deaf-hearing couples based on social penetration theory. This research is useful in providing a clear picture of the progression, dynamics and stages of communication that have taken place in the romantic relationship of deaf-hearing couples. The research results show that there is a progression of relationships in accordance with social penetration theory, starting from the orientation phase, exploratory affective exploration, stable exchange, until finally the deepest phase of stable exchange. This research also obtained results that are in accordance with the depth of information from the social penetration theory that applies to the romantic relationships of deaf-hearing couples, namely public layer, personal layer and inner core.

Abstract

Education lasts a lifetime. In this case, education is the main capital for the development and progress of every human being. With education conducted by adults, these adults can learn to know and understand what is the need and concern, especially at the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP). In this Institute, adults are fostered and educated within the scope of learning for farmer groups to get to know and learn in an integrated way the procedures for growing rice and caring for it until the harvest which will be carried out later as they get the results. The role of all managers and coaches at the BPP non-formal institution will be a good capital in efforts to develop and foster the world of agriculture in Indonesia, as well as a form of implementation of how adults get appreciation through the education they learn

Abstract

The Indonesian nation has a dark history of humanity. The existence of humanitarian violations in the G30S/PKI incident and the humanitarian tragedy in the 1998 Trisakti incident are clear evidence of gross violations of Human Rights (HAM). These violations against humanity, to this day, have not found a clear spot. So, in this regard, reconciliation is needed by presenting the theory of collective memory from Maurice Halbwachs, how in this theory we can accept the past and learn to be present and react to it properly. The mistakes that occurred in the past are history, where our nation continues to learn to become a nation that can more maturely and openly appreciate existing human values, for the sake of life and development with humanity.

Abstract

Tradisi sembahyang rebut merupakan tradisi kepercayaan umat Konghucu sebagai tradisi sembahyang arwah leluhur yang diselenggarakan pada tanggal 15 bulan ke tujuh. Perayaan ini dipercaya oleh masyarakat pada bulan ini pintu alam baka/neraka akan terbuka dan arwah yang berada didalamnya akan turun ke dunia manusia dan pulang ke keluarga masing-masing. Dalam penelitian ini juga akan melihat bagaimana makna yang terkandung melalui komunikasi verbal dan non-verbal yang terkandung dalam tradisi sembahyang rebut yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif menggunakan teori circuit of culture yang akan diimplementasikan dalam tradisi sembahyang rebut dengan melihat representasi, identitas, regulasi, konsumsi, dan produksi yang dimiliki dan hubungannya dalam setiap prosesi tradisi sembahyang rebut. Hasil dari penelitian diperoleh wujud penghormatan kepada leluhur dan Thien berdasarkan dengan firman yang tertulis dalam agama Konghucu.

Abstract

Adanya fenomena pernikahan di usia dini pada Masyarakat di provinsi kepulauan Bangka Belitung menjadi sesuatu yang menarik untuk diperhatikan. Tidak hanya dalam usaha untuk mengatasinya, namun kita dapat melihat hal ini dalam segala aspeknya yang lebih jauh. Pernikahan usia dini memang memilki sejumlah risiko yang dapat terjadi, oleh sebab itu dalam perspektif komunikasi antar budaya kita dapat melihat pemahaman secara terpadu Elisabeth Beck-Gernsheim, dalam konteks Masyarakat risiko. Dengan hal yang dapat dilihat secara menyeluruh, Beck-Gernsheim menjelaskan dengan komprehensif mengenai usaha melihat sebuah fenomena pernikahan di abad 21 ini. Maka, sejumlah jalan Tengah yang ditawarkan diharapkan mampu menghadirkan pemahaman yang baik dan menyeluruh. Sehingga pada akhinya terbentuk kesadaran untuk secara terbuka menerima dan memahamai mengenai pernikahan tersebut, bahwa didalam membangun masyarakat yang berbudaya pernikahan merupakan sebuah proses yang bertanggung jawab dalam membentuk dan menghadirkan Masyarakat yang memiliki kecakapan pengetahuan dan sikap yang dewasa dalam berjuang dan mempertahankan sebuah perniakan yang sudah ditentukannya bersama pasangan hidupnya.

Abstract

Marriage in the belis tradition in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has moral and cultural values that are broad and deep enough to be learned together. In the belis tradition, when a marriage couple is about to have a traditional wedding. Both prospective brides and grooms must have a good understanding of what they are doing when they carry out the belis tradition in the marriage. The study of belis culture does require a good understanding in its application, especially when it clashes with culture. The belis tradition can be seen as a way of making prospective couples who are getting married think twice before deciding to use the tradition. Not only is there a certain amount of material or nominal amount that must be prepared, the existence of certain objects or items that can and should be considered as dowry requires each couple to provide these materials and objects properly. Not to mention the existence of other agreements and offers, which of course can be understood. Marriage in the NTT tradition, with the culture of belis, is a phase for each young couple to prepare themselves to enter a new life in their life journey. The belis tradition is a pattern of life in the NTT community that can be used as one of the characteristics inherent in the traditions of our society. with cultural wealth that is certainly inherent and stored in it as a whole.
