Abstract

This study examines the political enthusiasm of female cadres of Fatayat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Asahan Regency, female cadres of Fatayat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Asahan Regency show a strong enthusiasm (passion) in politics even though women's representation in the legislature is still limited. This study aims to analyze the political enthusiasm of female cadres of Fatayat NU, the driving factors, and the obstacles they face. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and field research methods through interviews, documentation, and observation, the study found that Fatayat NU cadres are active in various strategic positions in government and elections. Their political enthusiasm is motivated by an awareness of gender justice, while the main obstacles come from limited human resources and patriarchal culture. To overcome this, Fatayat NU runs a cadre development, advocacy, and research program to strengthen the political capacity of its female cadres.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between peer attachment and academic flow among students of SMAN 1 X Koto. The study involved 177 students and employed the product moment correlation method to analyze the data. The results indicated a significant relationship between peer attachment and academic flow, with a correlation coefficient of 0.420 and a significance level of 0.000. This suggests a moderate relationship between the two variables, meaning that stronger peer attachment is associated with higher academic flow. Conversely, students with weaker peer attachment tend to experience lower academic flow. The findings are important as they show that social support from peers plays a significant role in enhancing students' focus and academic engagement. This study provides insights for educators and counselors to develop strategies that improve peer social support and promote better academic achievement.

Abstract

Customer arrears remain a significant challenge for the Regional Water Company (Perumda) of Padang City, impacting the sustainability of clean water public services. This issue is compounded by the public’s low awareness of timely bill payments and the perception of water as a fundamental right with no financial obligations. Additionally, the inclusion of waste retribution in water bills has led to customer resistance. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Perumda’s policies in managing water bill arrears using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings indicate that initiatives such as penalty waivers, installment payment programs, digital payment services, and persuasive field interventions have not substantially reduced arrears. Evaluation against five policy criteria reveals that current policies fail to adequately address all customer segments, particularly those facing economic hardship and low digital literacy. Insufficient outreach and limited human resources further hinder policy success. In conclusion, Perumda’s policies require improved communication strategies, enhanced public education efforts, and optimized digital systems to achieve more inclusive and effective outcomes in promoting customer payment compliance.

Abstract

Several factors contribute to issues in providing compensation for land acquisition, often resulting in lengthy and prolonged processes. In addition to compensation-related problems, land ownership disputes often arise during the acquisition process. This research addresses the mechanism for providing compensation for land acquisition in cases of ownership disputes, based on justice and legal certainty. It also examines the legal protection for landowners in cases of unlawful ownership claims related to land acquisition compensation and analyzes the judge's decision regarding Tangerang District Court Decision No. 577/Pdt.G/2020/PN.Tng in conjunction with Banten High Court Decision No. 241/PDT/2021/PT.BTN. This study employs a normative juridical method, referring to legal norms through literature review to obtain secondary data. It is descriptive and analytical in nature, using qualitative analysis for data interpretation. The study found that compensation for land acquisition in cases of ownership disputes, such as in Case No. 577/Pdt.G/2020/PN.Tng, is entrusted to the court. Preventive legal protection for landowners in the event of ownership claims is provided through ownership evidence. If this evidence is insufficient, the aggrieved party may file a lawsuit. The judge’s decision in this case was based on legal considerations and the evidence presented. The research recommends that parties harmed by unlawful land ownership claims in land acquisition cases seek legal recourse through the court.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the extent to which the implementation of academic supervision by the principal influences the improvement of teacher performance at SMKN 1 Sangatta Utara. Academic supervision is a professional guidance process carried out by the principal to support teachers in improving the quality of learning. This study uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The results of the study indicate a significant positive relationship between the implementation of academic supervision and the improvement of teacher performance, especially in the aspects of planning, implementing, and evaluating learning. This finding confirms the importance of the role of the principal as a supervisor in improving the quality of education in vocational schools. The study's findings underscore the critical role of principals in fostering a supportive environment for teacher growth and development. By effectively implementing academic supervision, principals can provide targeted feedback and guidance to teachers, helping them refine their instructional practices and enhance student learning outcomes. Future research could explore specific strategies and best practices for principals to maximize the impact of academic supervision on teacher performance in vocational education settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the validity and executorial power of debt acknowledgment letters made privately (non-notarial) in money lending agreements with land rights as collateral, using the Supreme Court Decision No. 2661 K/Pdt/2022 as a case study. Privately made debt acknowledgment letters are often used due to their simplicity, yet they pose legal issues when the debtor defaults and collateral execution is needed. The research employs a normative juridical method with statutory and case approaches. It is based on legal certainty theory, legal protection theory, and justice theory. The findings show that privately made debt acknowledgment letters do not have direct executorial power without notarial authentication or formal registration of collateral rights. Nevertheless, such letters can still serve as admissible evidence in breach of contract lawsuits. The Supreme Court's decision in this case highlights the importance of legal protection and certainty in private law agreements. The study recommends using notarial deeds for debt acknowledgment to ensure executorial strength and legal safeguards for the parties involved.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of online gambling on societal welfare through the lens of Maqashid Syariah, focusing on the principle of wealth protection (Hifz al-Mal). As a negative consequence of technological advancement, online gambling has become widespread in Indonesia, leading to significant economic, social, and moral issues. This research employs a qualitative, descriptive-analytical approach conducted in Paiton District, Probolinggo Regency. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and literature review, and analyzed inductively to identify the real impact of online gambling on community well-being. Utilizing the Maqashid Syariah framework, the study highlights wealth protection and also explores its effects on life (Hifz an-Nafs), intellect (Hifz al-Aql), lineage (Hifz an-Nasl), and religion (Hifz ad-Din). The findings indicate that online gambling directly contributes to worsening household economic conditions, increased psychological stress, and a decline in spiritual life within the community. The study aims to provide comprehensive insights into how online gambling contradicts Islamic values and harms societal welfare. It also seeks to contribute to the development of more effective Islamic economic policies to protect communities from the negative impacts of online gambling.

Abstract

Regional development disparities in Indonesia, particularly in Java Island which serves as the national economic hub, remain a major challenge in achieving inclusive economic growth. Fiscal inequality and differences in regional financial capacity require the implementation of effective fiscal decentralization policies. This study aims to examine the influence of fiscal decentralization instruments—General Allocation Fund, Special Allocation Fund, Revenue Sharing Fund, and Regional Own-Source Revenue—on economic growth across six provinces in Java Island during the period 2017 to 2024. The research applies a panel data regression method using the Pooled Least Square approach, with secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance. The results reveal that Regional Own-Source Revenue has a positive and significant impact on economic growth, while the Special Allocation Fund exhibits a significant negative effect. The Revenue Sharing Fund shows a negative but statistically insignificant relationship, and the General Allocation Fund has no significant impact. Simultaneously, all four fiscal variables significantly influence regional economic growth. These findings suggest that the effectiveness of fiscal decentralization depends not only on the size of the transfers but more importantly on the strategic use of funds and the institutional capacity of local governments. Strengthening local fiscal independence and reformulating transfer schemes are crucial to achieving balanced regional development.

Abstract

Self-medication is a common health behavior, especially for mild symptoms. This study reviews the trends and challenges of self-medication in Indonesia–Malaysia border areas, focusing on Sambas Regency. A descriptive-qualitative literature review was conducted based on 15 relevant scientific articles. The findings reveal that self-medication is influenced by limited access to healthcare services, low medication literacy, cultural norms, and weak drug distribution supervision. Commonly used drugs include analgesics, antipyretics, supplements, and traditional herbal remedies. The border context also facilitates access to cross-border medicines, raising concerns about quality and safety. This study highlights the urgency of implementing community-based health education, strengthening the role of community pharmacists, and developing adaptive and context-specific pharmaceutical policies in remote border regions.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the persistence of self-harm behavior among adolescents with feelings of loneliness. Loneliness can arise due to obstacles in establishing social relationships, lack of emotional support, and experiences of rejection from the surrounding environment, causing students who self-harm to feel isolated both at school and at home. This study aims to explore loneliness in self-harming students based on three aspects of loneliness: trait loneliness, social desirability loneliness, and depression loneliness. The study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The population in this study consisted of students from five public high schools in Pariaman City, totaling 4,051 students. The sample was 70 self-harming students selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was a loneliness questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. The results indicate that most self-harming students fall into the moderate category of loneliness across all three aspects. This finding highlights the importance of addressing loneliness as a primary factor in preventing self-harm behavior among adolescents.
