Abstract

Activities at Kemala Bhayangkari 70 Masaran Kindergarten still used conventional painting media using crayons. Initial observations show that learning activities are less attractive to children, activities are less varied monotonous, and learning is more often carried out in the classroom so that the space for children to move is less free, resulting in creativity that does not look optimal. Rubber bands have the potential to become a medium for children's painting activities in kindergarten because children often find them and are often used by children to play. This classroom action research was carried out at Kemala Bhayangkari 70 Masaran Kindergarten in the Odd Semester of the 2022/2023 Academic Year with the research subject being group B students with a total of 31 children consisting of 16 boys and 15 girls. In this research, the independent variable is creativity in painting with indicators of fluency, authenticity, detail, neatness, harmony. The data collection methods used are observation and documentation. After the researcher held the first cycle by applying the rubber band media, it was obtained that in the first cycle, it increased by 71.67% with the criteria of Developing as Expected (BSH). But the results obtained have not been maximized because they have not reached the mutually agreed success indicator of 80%. For this reason, researchers and collaborating partners held cycle II, with the same learning and activities with a variety of varied color choices. The results achieved in research in cycle II the average percentage of children in 1 class was 84.73% with the Very Well Developed (BSB) assessment criteria. The data shows that children's creativity has increased, for this reason, researchers have succeeded and achieved mutually agreed indicators and it is proven that painting with rubber band media can increase the creativity of Kemala Bhayangkari 70 Kindergarten children  Masaran

Abstract

Ideally grade 4 elementary school students should have understood the contents of the reading well, but in reality, there are still difficulties in understanding the main points of a text. This is marked when students have enabled to determine the main idea of a particular paragraph because of a lack of attention in learning. If this problem is not followed up, the learning objectives can be difficult to achieve. By conducting this research, the researcher wants to know whether reading by applying the SQ3R method can work effectively so that the level of student understanding will increase. Researchers used a qualitative approach in their research, then Classroom Action Research (CAR) with Kemmis and McTaggart models as research methods. The place that has been determined by the researcher is SDN Karodangan which is located in Taktakan, Serang. The main points discussed by the researcher were students who were in grade 4 which consisted of 9 students. The action that has been carried out has proven an increase in students' reading comprehension skills. Before the action, the average value of students' reading comprehension skills was 43.3 and 22.2% as a percentage. When the first action, the average value of students' reading comprehension skills obtained was 60 and 44.4% as a percentage. Then the second action, the average value of students' reading comprehension skills increased to 85.5 and 88.8% as a percentage. Based on the description of thedata, it concluded that the SQ3R method has proven to be effective in capturing students' attention so that their understanding can increase.

Abstract

Children's literature plays an important role in the stage of child development, through children's literature adults can communicate with children so that literature can be used to improve language skills and abilities. One aspect of language skills is writing skills. In fact, there is still a lack of writing skills, especially writing poetry, one of the reasons is that students think writing is an exciting and less interesting activity. In the 2013 curriculum writing poetry is contained in learning Indonesian for grade IV elementary school. In writing poetry, it is necessary to have an image or imagination as a picture that beautifies the work. The purpose of this study was to find out the kinds of images contained in the book Tunas Bangsa Penuh Pengorbanan, based on the analysis, it was used as teaching material for writing poetry for fourth-grade elementary school students, teaching materials were made that were interesting, innovative and easy for students to understand to increase creativity in ideas student. Data collection techniques using document analysis and analysis techniques using data reduction, data display, and data verification. Based on the research, obtained as many as 6 kinds of imagery in the book Tunas Bangsa Penuh Pengorbanan, including 45 visual images, 31 auditory images, 4 tactile images, 7 movement images, 3 smell images, and 14 intellectual images. From these findings, the book of Tunas Bangsa Penuh Pengorbanan contains quite a lot of imagery that can be used as teaching materials for elementary school students writing. This book with many varied images is very suitable to be used as a material for stimulating students' imagination when learning to write.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze using Rasch model through the Winstep application on learning obstacle data and Sundanese ethnomathematical didactic design using Engklek game to measure the mathematical modeling ability of students in second grade of Elementary School. Culture-based mathematics learning can increase students' understanding, especially traditional games. One of them is Engklek game which can be developed as a mathematical modeling learning design for children. The indicators of mathematical modeling ability were simplification, mathematization, and problem-solving abilities. In the Rasch model, the researchers chase the output Item Measure to know the items level of difficulty, Item Fit Order to measure the level of items suitability in measuring the ability of mathematical modeling in students, Person Measure to determine the student's ability level to work on the test instrument and Summary Statistics as a summary of the overall statistics of the test instrument. This study was structured with a quantitative approach using quantitative descriptive methods. The data analyzed were learning obstacle data totaling 61 data, initial didactic design data as many as 28, and didactic design revision data totaling 9 data. From the data, it was found that all items were appropriate in measuring students' mathematical modeling abilities, but there were still things that needed to be evaluated in the questions' interaction with students. The student's ability in each mathematical modeling indicator varies and was grouped into the “high" ability level of 27 students, 35 students of “mid” level and 27 “low” level students, and 3 students groups. The results of this analysis could be a validation that the learning carried out was feasible and has the potential to succeed in increasing students' modeling competence

Abstract

Comprehension reading is activity to absorb information from reading material, understand, know the meaning or implied meaning of reading. In the world of education, especially in elementary school, reading skills are very important in addition to the other three language skills. Of the four language skills that must be mastered by students, most of the difficulties experienced by students are difficulties in reading comprehension. Difficulty in reading comprehension will hinder students in absorbing the information presented in the form of reading in the form of books, magazines, newspapers, documents and others. This study aims to find out, analyze and describe the difficulties experienced by students in reading comprehension on fairy tale texts in class III SDN Tegal Kidongdong in the 2021/2022 academic year and make learning media in the form of animated videos based on the difficulties experienced by students. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis method which aims to analyze the phenomenon based on the documents obtained from the research. The subject of this research is a document in the form of student worksheet answers. Data collection techniques used in this study were participant observation, in-depth interviews and document analysis. The results of this study are the difficulties experienced by students, namely difficulties in reading comprehension with a literal level of understanding, namely finding the characteristics possessed by characters in fairy tales, then difficulty in reading comprehension with a literal level of understanding, namely finding paragraphs that show moral messages and finally having difficulty reading comprehension with the level of understanding of interpretation, namely finding the moral message in the fairy tale. Based on the knowledge of these difficulties, the researchers considered it to make learning media in the form of animated videos to be accessed by all third grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Problem Solving is important because it is expected to provide students with the ability to solve problems in theory or practice in everyday life, one of which is in learning mathematics because every human activity is always related to mathematics. This paper will discuss the effect of didactic design on fractional material on the problem solving abilities of students at SD Negeri Sepang for the 2021-2022 academic year. This is because the methods of learning mathematics in improving students' problem solving abilities are very diverse, one of which is the didactic method of mathematics. Based on this, this paper was made with the aim of knowing the effect of didactic design on fractional material on the problem solving abilities of elementary school students. The method used is quantitative with experimental techniques. A quasi-experimental design is analyzed using SPSS 21 for Windows. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that after the learning method using the didactic design on fractional material was applied, students' problem solving abilities increased even though in the moderate category after applying the didactic design learning method on the fractional material. This can be seen from the increase in the average posttest result of the experimental class of 61.354 from the average of the experimental class's pretest result of 27.917. Meanwhile, the average N-gain score for the experimental class was 0.4641 which was categorized as moderate. The results of hypothesis testing with paired sample t test. The effect of didactic design on fractional material on students' problem solving abilities is that there is a significant effect because based on SPSS output, the Sig- (2-tailed) value is 0.000 0.05.

Abstract

Students' characteristics greatly influence learning outcomes in class. Students lack concentration when doing electrical experiments in class because of monotonous learning. In addition, some students make mistakes when stacking cables and electrical components, leading to confusion and prompting them to seek assistance from friends who may not fully understand basic electrical stacking techniques. Teachers can use differentiated learning to implement strategies to improve students' learning outcomes. There are three elements: visual, auditorium, and kinesthetic. We expect students to be more concentrated with this differentiated learning approach, and with proper learning, they can perform electrical experiments correctly as the classroom learning process aligns with their learning style. The research aims to improve students' learning outcomes in 5th grade SDN Rejosari 01 Semarang Teaching Year 2023-2024 through differentiated electrical experiments. The researcher employs classroom action research (CAR) in conjunction with the PJBL method, which undergoes two cycles of differentiation involving 27 students from 5B SDN Rejosari 01. At each cycle, there is planning, implementation, observation, evaluation, and reflection. In the pre-cycle, 4 students (44.44%) showed improvements in their visual learning style, with an average score of 68.88. Cycle I became 6 students (66.67%) with an average of 77.78, and Cycle II became 8 students (88.89%) with an average of 90. Thus, the application of differentiated learning in the Electrical experiments in the fifth grade of SDN Rejosari 01 Semarang has improved the learning outcome from the target of 75. Therefore, we can conclude that this class action research is effective.

Abstract

Character education is an effort to educate children to make good choices and implement them in their daily activities so that they are able to play a real role in their surroundings. Character building from an early age provides a strong foundation for shaping the character of caring for the environment. Attitudes and behaviours that always try to avoid damage to the surrounding environment and restore natural damage that has occurred are the character of caring for the environment. A healthy school environment is needed to support the teaching and learning process and to adjust to clean and healthy living habits. This study aims to find out the picture of character education caring for the environment in science subjects at SDN Kalibata 04 Pagi. The narrative inquiry method was used for this study with data collection techniques in the form of storytelling, field notes, interviews, and documentation. Based on research that has been carried out it has been applied for a long time to habituate environmental care. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, instilling the character of caring for the environment, it can only be done in remotely active learning. So student’s interest in caring for the environment cannot be seen in distance learning. Therefore, researchers developed an environmentally caring character education program in science subjects during face-to-face learning to meet four aspects, including cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and interests.

Abstract

Online learning is learning that uses online applications to support learning activities. One of the online applications that can be used as online learning media is Google Classroom. Based on the results of interviews with the sixth-grade teacher of the State Elementary School of Cibonteng, it can be seen that mathematics is the subject that is considered the most difficult by students, especially geometry. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online learning using Google Classroom on building materials at State Elementary School of Cibonteng, Walantaka District, Serang City on student learning outcomes. The research method used is a pre-experimental design, and the research design is a set of pretest-posttest designs. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observation, and written tests. The data analysis technique used in this research is the normality test of the data and the hypothesis test. The results showed that the use of Google Classroom in online learning could effectively improve student learning outcomes in the geometry material, this can be seen from the results of the paired t-test with the pretest and post-test results are 0.16, meaning that the p-value 0.05, then H0 accepted and Ha rejected. In addition, the results of the Google Classroom N-Gain Test are 0.12, which means they are in the low category. These results show that this learning influences students' learning success. These practices can be the basis for selecting and improving teachers in the future.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects found at every level of education from elementary school to high school and even college.  However, it’s often heard that mathematics is one of the subjects that most students are uninterested in, of course there are many things behind this case. This is in line with the discovery of researchers in the field who are majoring in education. After making several observations in various schools, the researchers found several things that caused this to happen, among others the low interest of students in learning mathematics from the beginning, students’ difficulties in understanding the lesson material and students’ lack of enthusiasm for learning. Researchers realize that there are differences in students’ interests and abilities in mathematics lessons, but researchers are interested in students who actually have an interest in mathematics but are less enthusiastic in participating in learning. After going through various interviews, researchers found several reasons why students were less enthusiastic in participating in mathematics learning activities in class. Including class situations and boring learning processes, too much lesson material that was delivered by the teacher, and the delivery of lesson material that was difficult to understand by students. The research conducted aims to overcome the problems encountered by developing learning media so that it is expected to increase students’ enthusiasm in participating in mathematics learning. The selected learning media is a popular board game called monopoly that is modified in such a way as needed with reference to using the ADDIE model and integrating the media with local culture that is local wisdom of the Baduy society.
