Abstract

Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) is one of the subjects that is only given in class X in the independent curriculum for Vocational Senior High School (SMK) students. Based on the results of observations, the low enthusiasm for IPAS subjects is because IPAS is a complex subject that combines material from biology, physics, chemistry, and social science so that there is a lot of theory to understand, while vocational schools are expected to have a lot of practical learning so that it is boring for students. Project-based learning (PjBL) is assumed to be very suitable as an implementation solution and is also very dominant in vocational-based schools. The study aimed to determine the increase in enthusiasm for studying science and technology in class X majoring in automotive engineering at SMK Takhassus Wonosobo. The subjects in this classroom action research were 40 students majoring in automotive engineering in environmental matters. The data collection method is in the form of observation sheets and documentation. Based on the empirical data that has been obtained through this research, it shows that before the action the data on students' learning enthusiasm reached 47.50 with the Less Enthusiastic (MB) criteria. After the action was held in cycle I, it increased to the level of 53.75 which also met the criteria for Less Enthusiastic (KB) but these results had not yet reached an indicator of success so the researchers held a follow-up cycle where students' enthusiasm for learning reached 62.50 or with the criteria Enthusiastic (B). Therefore, PjBL learning assisted by innovative media has succeeded in increasing the enthusiasm for learning science and science in class X majoring in automotive engineering, SMK Takhassus Wonosobo

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of social support, problem-focused coping, and psychological well-being for learners. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the relationship between social support and problem-focused coping with psychological well-being in students of the State Vocational School of 1 Wadaslintang. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach to the type of correlation research. The population in this study were students of the State Vocational School of 1 Wadaslintang, totaling 1,148 students. The sample in this study was 300 students, the sample was taken using a simple random sampling technique. The data in this study were obtained using the social support scale, the problem-focused coping scale, and the psychological well-being scale. Test the validity of the instrument using expert judgment and test the reliability of the instrument is calculated using the Cronbach alpha coefficient. Data analysis in this study used regression analysis. The results of the research analysis showed an F value of 645.548 with a significance level of p = 0.000 (p 0.05). These results indicate that there is a positive relationship between social support and problem-focused coping with psychological well-being in students of the State Vocational School of 1 Wadaslintang. It means that if students have high social support and problem-focused coping, then students will also have high psychological well-being. The effective contribution of social support and problem-focused coping to psychological well-being is 81.30%, while 18.70% comes from other factors, meaning that those two factors contributed to more than half of students’ psychological well-being.

Abstract

One aspect considered very important for students in the school and classroom environment is discipline because it is related to the smooth teaching and learning process in the classroom. Discipline in schools is often associated with compliance and the orderliness of school residents in implementing the applicable rules. In this study, we will analyze the process of learning discipline that occurs in class VI SDN 2 Lemahtamba students during the learning process. The approach used in this research is qualitative. The method used is a case study aiming to determine the form of learning discipline in class VI, the factors that influence the process of learning discipline, and the efforts made in instilling learning discipline in students. This research, at the time of data collection, used interview techniques, observation guidelines, and documentation studies that support the research topic to be discussed. The results showed that most of the thirty students had done some form of discipline. However, only a few students were still doing activities that could interfere with learning activities during the learning process. It happened due to several factors that can come from within or outside the students themselves. The teacher has made various efforts to instill discipline in the classroom by making himself an excellent example of discipline in the school. So, researchers can conclude that the learning discipline process for class VI students at SDN 2 Lemahtamba is going quite well but lacks discipline because students still commit violations.

Abstract

Corona virus which has become a pandemic in Indonesia prompted the Minister of Education and Culture to issue a letter that the implementation of education during the COVID-19 emergency on March 24, 2020, was carried out online. Along with implementing the online learning policy at home mandated by the government, the role usually carried out by the education unit has now changed its function in the family unit. Because teaching activities are the core and implementation of learning, the quality of education and graduates are influenced by the teaching and learning process. Therefore, the researcher believes online teaching should get special attention, so students do not feel pressured and frustrated. Teachers can also learn according to their goals with syllabi and lesson plans. Learning that can provide new impetus in the learning process during a pandemic is fun learning, which is the choice, namely the joyful learning model. And so that this fun learning materializes for the learning process, a supportive media is needed, namely Quizizz. This study aims to analyze the motivation and learning outcomes of students who use the writing method of literature study or literature study by analyzing 20 journals, namely 14 national journals and 6 international journals. The analysis results in previous studies found that using the joyful learning model assisted by the Quizizz application potentially could increase students' motivation and learning outcomes during online learning during the covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

The aims of this study were: (1) to describe the steps of the learning process that occurs when using storytelling activities, (2) to describe the steps of storytelling techniques that can be used in learning activities, (3) to find out the situation after participating in storytelling activities from one's own experience. This research is classroom action research that wants to reveal the increase in children's language skills through story telling activities using two cycles. This research started from January to June 2020. The research location was in Pertiwi II Cemeng Kindergarten, Sambungmacan District, Sragen Regency with 20 research subjects. Based on data from the results of children's language skills before being given action by using storytelling activities, it shows that in storytelling activities 15% of children are able to memorize stories, 25% of children are able to understand story content, and 30% of children appear language skills in pre-cycle conditions. Based on data in cycle I, 30% of children showed the ability to memorize stories, 40% of children were able to understand story content, and language skills in storytelling activities increased to 45% of children. The results of children's language skills in cycle II observed that 60% of children could memorize stories, 75% of children were able to understand the contents of the story, and 85% of children showed language skills in storytelling activities. This shows the effectiveness of this storytelling activity in improving children's language skills. This activity can be an alternative solution for teachers who experience the same problem

Abstract

Character education of children is important in relation to children. This is very influential on the nation because it forms the nation's character from an early age. This is because children at this age are very important for character formation. Therefore, it is necessary to provide appropriate educational media that can shape the character of students for the better. The educational media uses educational television shows such as the films Nussa dan Rara. This study aims to determine the benefits contained in the film Nussa dan Rara and to find out how to grow character in second-grade elementary school children in teaching and learning activities through the delivery of the film. In this study, the researcher only took three episodes, namely Tolong dan Terima Kasih (Please and Thank You) episode, Berani Jujur (Dare to be Honest) episode, and Jangan Sombong (Don't Be Arrogant) episode. This type of research is qualitative using case study methods and using auxiliary instruments, namely interview sheets, questionnaires, and documentation. Then the results of this study are expected to contribute to character education and become input for students, teachers, other researchers, and any party in need.

Abstract

The lack of student interest in free-drawing activities is the background for this research. The research was conducted from January 2021 to June 2021. This study aims to describe how to foster creativity in children by free drawing and find out how to increase children's creativity through free drawing in group B Kindergarten Pertiwi II Cemeng Academic Year 2020/2021. Children's creativity needs to be increased, one way is by drawing freely from the basic shape of a circle and then retelling the image. This research is a classroom action research that is collaborative between researchers, school principals, and accompanying classroom teachers. The subjects in this study were group B students of Pertiwi II Cemeng Kindergarten. Data were collected through observation, field notes, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data was checked by triangulation. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative flow model. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in children's creativity through free drawing, namely before the action up to the second cycle in a row shows an increase, namely in children who show a creative attitude increases to 83.33%. Then in terms of quantity the number of children who can draw proportionally increases to 50.00%. The indicator for children doing their assignments on time increased to 62.50%, children who finished drawing and coloring neatly increased to 75.00%, children who dared to tell the results of the pictures they had made increased to 62.59%, and children whose fluency in telling the pictures it has made increases to 50.00% at the end of the cycle. This shows the effectiveness of this drawing activity in improving children's fine motor skills. This activity can be an alternative solution for teachers who experience the same problem.

Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of analyzing the effect of applying the Treffinger learning model on students' higher order thinking skills (HOTS). In fact, low higher order thinking skills (HOTS) of students is a form of applying an appropriate learning model.  Whereas HOTS is one of the abilities that must be possessed by students in the 21st century. Treffinger learning model is suitable to be applied because it is based on the development of the times. The research method used is quantitative research and pre-experimental design. The population in this study were 115 and the sample used is 26 students in class V of elementary school. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling. Data collection techniques using tests and documentation. Hypothesis test using t test. Based on the results of this study, there is a significant effect from the application of the Treffinger learning model on the higher order thinking skills grade students at SD Negeri 1 Triharjo, which is indicated by a significance value of 0.000 (p = 0.05). The Treffinger learning model makes students more active in the learning process and causes changes in behavior in accordance with learning objectives. The Treffinger learning model is expected to be an alternative that educators can use in increasing student HOTS.

Abstract

This study aims to see the potential to improve elementary school students' reading skills using word cards as media. This literature study research was conducted on research sources from undergraduate thesis and scientific journals. Based on the results of the analysis of literature studies that have been conducted by researchers, the results obtained by the previous researchers explained that the interaction activities of learners with teachers when the process of reading the beginning using the media card is done with 4 stages starting from the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The results of the increase in mastery of early reading by utilizing the medium of word cards, beginning with the previous researchers with pre-activity obtained an average percentage of 59.2%, results obtained with an average of 68.8% obtained cycle I, obtained an average of 75.2% cycle II, and cycle III got an average result of 78%. Based on secondary data that researchers conducted in interviews, the source said the process of reading the beginning using the word card media can improve students' initial reading ability compared to the conventional way before and can make students active in the classroom because they are involved during the learning process. This can show that the process of early reading learning activities with word card media can improve the reading ability of grade 1 elementary school students.

Abstract

Education is active, which in the world of education requires adaption to the movement of the times. So far, teachers sometimes use the old method, namely lectures in teaching. Meanwhile, the current millennial generation needs more attractive learning and something more concrete to stimulate the learning of students who have learning obstacles. This announcement is based on the researcher examining a teaching material for learning the plant part of the science subject for fourth grade of elementary school which is still not well prepared which has an impact on the occurrence of learning obstacles in students. From this case, this study aims to design cooperative learning-based teaching materials to reduce students' learning difficulties. The method used is Didactical Design Research (DDR) using 3 hierarchies, namely: 1.) prospective analysis, 2) meta-pedadidactic analysis, and 3) retrospective analysis. The results of this study developed a didactic design in the form of modules and game media to overcome student learning obstacles. After that, a final learning obstacle is tested to prove the effectiveness of the didactic design that the researcher made. 6 types of learning obstacles were found in the final test, which means that there was a decrease in the percentage of learning obstacles. The researcher compared the percentage of students who experienced learning obstacles in the initial and final test questions. In the initial test, there were 9 types of learning obstacles, and 6 types of learning obstacles in the final test. In this study, the results showed a significant decrease in students' learning obstacles. This interpretation of cooperative learning-based teaching material media design is effectively used as an alternative teaching material in conveying the learning of the plant part.
