Abstract

Foreign exchange reserves are essential for assessing a country's financial stability, especially in countries highly dependent on international trade, such as Indonesia. Various economic factors, including inflation, exports, imports and changes in exchange rates, influence Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves. Domestic inflation is essential in determining a country's currency and stability. If inflation is high, the exchange rate will increase, which in turn will impact the size of the country's foreign exchange reserves. Therefore, controlling inflation is essential in maintaining the stability of foreign exchange reserves. Exports and imports also significantly influence a country's foreign exchange reserves. The higher the exports, it shows that the country is more advanced and can generate foreign exchange reserves. Imports are the opposite of exports. The country's foreign exchange reserves are usually used to make payments for import activities. This means that the country's foreign exchange reserves will decrease further if imports are higher. This research uses time series data from 2010 to 2020, so the analysis used is the Error Correction Model (ECM). Based on the research results, it was found that to increase the country's foreign exchange reserves, it is necessary to increase the value of exports and exchange rate stability and reduce the value of inflation.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Islam urges every Muslim to work and comply with all Islamic principles. The Centre of Statistical Data (BPS) of Sukohajo noted that 94.8% of Sukoharjo’s population is Muslim. This indicates that Sukoharjo has great economic potential, especially in the field of halal lifestyle. This paper conducted a study with the aim to analyse the application of Islamic business ethics to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sukoharjo. Research Methods: This research employs a qualitative analysis with a descriptive analysis method. Primary data were obtained through interviews and documentation with 28 MSMEs in Sukoharjo as the research sample. The data is then analysed by data reduction, data display, and data verification. Results: The result shows that the majority of MSMEs in Sukoharjo Regency have implemented Islamic business ethics such as honesty, fairness, greetings, trust, and selling halal products. However, religious activities for employees lack the practices. There are several internal and external factors shaping the implementation of Islamic business ethics of MSMEs in Sukoharjo, namely internal factors (beliefs) and external factors (science, family, social environment, experience, and type of business). Conclusion: The study humbly urges the Indonesian Ulema Council to incorporate Islamic business ethics in their teachings, shaping a better understanding of society and leading the optimisation of the application.

Abstract

Madurese are famous for their nomadic culture and trading skills, with Madurese warungs scattered across Indonesia's major cities. These stalls thrive with small capital thanks to perseverance, solid community networks, and high work ethic. This research explores the potential and social impact of Madurese warungs with a community-based Islamic business perspective, using qualitative methods with purposive and snowball sampling, as well as interviews, observations, and discussions. The results show that the success of Madura warungs depends on the quality of goods, good service, competitive prices, and 24-hour operations. In addition to economic impact, these stalls also increase social interaction, strengthen community ties, and promote inter-ethnic harmony. The findings show that Madurese warung not only contribute to the economy but also strengthen community networks. The research identifies policies to increase positive impacts and address challenges, such as business management training for MSMEs and cooperation with local governments. Thus, Madura warungs can continue to grow and provide greater benefits to local people and the Madura community.
