Abstract

This research is motivated by the natural flooding disaster in the Landak sub-watershed area, which can be caused by river overflow due to high rain intensity. Flood discharge can be calculated using the Synthetic Unit Hydrograph method if the available data is limited, such as only obtaining rainfall data and watershed characteristics.Several Synthetic Unit Hydrograph (SUH) methodologies, including SUH Snyder, Nakayasu, Soil Conservation Services (SCS), Gama I, ITB, and Limantara, were utilized in this study. The analyzed data included precipitation data and measured discharge data. Rainfall data are analyzed using the homogeneity test, statistical descriptors, and chi-squared to determine the planned flood discharge. Then, continue with the study of rainfall frequency and analysis of rainfall intensity so that the maximal discharge can be analyzed using three SUH methods: HSS Snyder, Nakayasu, and SCS. The analysis of measured release is conducted by statistically analyzing estimated discharge data. The analysis results are then compared to obtain the percentage error between the discharge plan and the minimum measured discharge. The results showed that the HSS Snyder method was selected for analyzing flood discharge in the Landak sub-watershed basin because it has the minimum percentage error from comparing planned release and measured discharge values. Therefore, for the calculation of flood discharge analysis of the Landak sub-watershed basin, the HSS Snyder method is used with the acquisition of flood discharge plans for the return period of 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 years of 648,880 m3/sec, 896,335 m3/sec, 1025,954 m3/sec, 1132,006 m3/sec, 1252,788 m3/sec, 1335,273 m3/sec.

Abstract

There are various reasons and considerations underlying travellers in choosing a mode of transportation. The diversity of transportation mode is an essential factor for transportation business actors in competing to provide a choice of transportation modes that are very popular or no longer in demand for use by travellers traveling from one city to another. Currently, the most frequently used mode of transportation on the Pontianak - Ketapang city route or vice versa is airplane transportation or travel, and this is because both modes of vehicle arrive in the city of Ketapang without transiting in other towns or regions. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the choice of transportation mode and obtain the probability of airplane and travel passengers. This research is conducted with a stated preference method by distributing questionnaires to people traveling from the Pontianak - Ketapang city route using airplanes and travel modes. For the survey, data is collected using a questionnaire distributed to 420 respondents through Google form using four attributes, namely cost, time, headway, and service. Based on the analysis results for calculating transportation mode choice with the stated preference method, a utility model is obtained as follows: U(PT-TR) = 0.291 + -2.883E-6.∆x1 + -0.226.∆x2 + 0.218.∆x3 + 0.023.∆x4 with an airplane probability of 55.92%, while   the travel probability is 44.08%. The most sensitive attribute affecting the choice of transportation mode is the time attribute. It is because changes in travel time will result in a relatively greater probability of mode choice when compared to changes in cost, headway, and service attributes.

Abstract

In general, Pontianak and the surrounding area have soft soil characteristics with a low carrying capacity compared to other soil types. This condition is the leading cause of several construction failures, especially in constructing transportation or road facilities and infrastructure. One form of construction failure is the state of the road, which has experienced cracks and bumps in a relatively short time after the construction of the road. Innovations in road pavement construction are needed to overcome these conditions. This research aims to obtain the carrying capacity of reinforced concrete road pavement construction with fins by being given a layer of sand on cohesive and non-cohesive soils. This research was carried out by testing numerically through plate modelling with the PLAXIS 3D application and unique software in reviewing the modelling structure. In this study, the effect of fin length at a slope of 30 ° on increasing the ultimate load of slabs on cohesive and non-cohesive soils was investigated using the Elastic-Plastic method and with a computer program, which was then plotted into a graph of the relationship between load versus settlement and a diagram of the relationship between ultimate load vs. fin length. Based on the computer program output results, the five models' most significant soil maximum load (Pu) is 22.5 kN in the 40 cm fin length modelling. Even though they have different parameters, the two soils show the same results and behaviour. These results show that the most optimal modelling in this study is on a 40 cm long finned concrete slab because the soil carrying capacity is higher than other models.

Abstract

Pontianak City has a low ground elevation and a reasonably high groundwater level. The distribution of clean water from regional companies tends to be less than optimal, and there is high rainwater runoff, causing the channel discharge to increase along with the growth of land converted into residential and business areas. Therefore, houses often use fresh water storage, both raw and rainwater, to meet clean water needs. One type that is often used is concrete culverts. However, concrete culverts have gaps in the joints that have the potential to contaminate storage water. The development of modular wells can be an option that is superior in various aspects to concrete culverts. The results showed that installing polypropylene modular wells costs less than concrete culvert wells. In addition, the use of modular wells also has advantages in terms of ease of installation and maintenance, as well as efficiency in land use. Endurance strength Modular wells can carry a load of up to 24 tons/m2. Thus, the results of this study are expected to provide alternative methods of storing clean water in Pontianak City that are more effective and efficient in terms of cost and quality by considering technical and environmental factors.

Abstract

Singkawang City is a coastal city surrounded by mountains with an area of 504 km2. The Singkawang City area often experiences flooding, which gets worse every year. A deeper analysis is needed to determine strategic issues and flood management strategies in Singkawang City. This study analyzes flood control strategies and what mitigation is proper for Singkawang City. The results of this analysis are then used as a guide for stakeholders in making the best decisions to deal with floods in Singkawang City.To identify strategic issues regarding flooding, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on flood issues in Singkawang City was held on 21 June 2023, which credible stakeholders attended. The results of the FGD mapped out which factors are Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. Then, an IFAS and EFAS analysis is carried out to determine the most influential flood control strategy, which will be carried out by AHP analysis to determine the most priority strategy to implement. After that, the strategy timeframe was obtained using SFAS analysis for the short-term, medium-term, and long-term. This strategy is then complemented by disaster mitigation before, during, and after the flood. The analysis results show that the right strategy for flood management in Singkawang City in an integrated manner is the W-O Strategy, namely, improving the weaknesses in Singkawang City so that the existing opportunities can be maximized. The strategy with the highest priority from the AHP analysis is that the government can formulate a strategy for structuring the Singkawang River corridor with a weight of 0.247 and a score of 2.23. As well as getting flood mitigation for before, during, and after the flood.

Abstract

The increase in population in the upper Kapuas Hulu River Basin will also increase the need for land. This increase in land demand can cause land use changes, affecting the runoff coefficient. Based on the reasons above, research was conducted to determine the effect of changes in land use on the magnitude of the runoff coefficient in the upstream part of the Kapuas River Basin from 2012 to 2017 and 2017 to 2022.The runoff coefficient calculation uses the U.S. Forest Service, Hassing, Kodoatie, and Syarief methods. Each method uses different parameters to determine the results. Data processing is carried out using a Geographic Information System (GIS).The analysis and calculations show that the runoff coefficient values obtained in the Upper Kapuas River Basin using the U.S. Forest Service method in 2012, 2017, and 2022 are 0,133, 0,136, and 0,145. The Hassing method results are 0,308, 0,309, and 0,312, and the Kodoatie and Syarief method results are 0,156, 0,167, and 0,173. This value shows that the Upper Kapuas River Basin is in reasonably good condition because the runoff coefficient value is far below 1.

Abstract

Islamic Boarding School has a treatment capacity of 33 m3 and an area of 24 m2. Based on the results of initial wastewater quality tests on communal WWTP, the TSS, COD, and BOD parameters are above the quality standard threshold based on the Wastewater Quality Standard of the Minister of Environment Regulation Number 68 of 2016. This evaluation aims to determine the processing efficiency of communal WWTP and evaluate the processing unit in communal WWTP as well as alternative improvements that effectively reduce the parameters of pH, TSS, BOD, COD, and fatty oils. This research method is descriptive analytics, which analyses problems from data collected descriptively to find solutions to problems. The results of this evaluation show that the TSS, COD, and BOD parameters are above the quality standard threshold. The pH parameter increased by 3.6%, removal efficiency for BOD by 76.4%, COD by 71.9%, TSS by 84.3%, and oil grease by 91.9%. Alternative WWTP improvements are carried out by redesigning the Communal WWTP, which consists of calculating the equalization unit, precipitator I, anaerobic filter, Precipitator II, disinfection, and sludge thickener, Sludge digester, sludge drying bed and analysis of the Budget Plan Cost (RAB). The communal WWTP redesign requires a land area of 52.62 m2 with a processing capacity of 56.8 m3 and a cost budget plan of Rp.157,224,000.00. The redesign results of this evaluation can reduce environmental impacts due to domestic wastewater.

Abstract

Acceleration on projects is frequently used when there is a mismatch between the actual and planned schedules. In addition, acceleration is frequently implemented in response to requests from the project owner to complete the project as quickly as possible to meet specific goals so that the building can be used immediately. The owner of the Dekranasda Building and Hall in West Kalimantan requested that the project be finished immediately so that the Dekranasda Building could be used as the location for a national UMKM exhibition event. The initial plan for this project was scheduled for 152 working days. Because there would be an exhibition event, the project was accelerated to 128 working days. The purpose of this research is to accelerate the project for 24 days. The stages of this acceleration analysis start from finding what activities can be softened, then compiling a network diagram to identify activities on the critical path, followed by crashing analysis to get crash duration, crash cost, and cost slope, then Time Cost Trade-Off analysis is carried out. This research uses the PDM (Precedence Diagram Method) method applied to Microsoft Project to compile a Network Diagram. The results of the acceleration analysis show that the crashing process is carried out until the 12th crashing to meet the target acceleration duration of 128 working days from the normal duration of 152 working days, and the usual 24-day length is shortened. Twelve tasks have been added, raising the overall project cost from Rp. 6,794,007,874 to Rp. 7,091,725,614 by a total of Rp. 297,717,741.
