Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a land area of approximately 1.905 million km ². Facilities and infrastructure are needed to support community mobility to balance the land area. One of the infrastructures needed to carry out this mobilization is roads. In building roads, it is necessary to pay attention to safety and comfort aspects so the community can optimally use these facilities. Experts have contributed much of their thoughts to create a road construction used today. Concrete Structure is a common structure used by experts for road construction in Indonesia. Concrete construction was chosen because it is easy to form and stiff so it is easy to adapt to regions in Indonesia. However, road damage still occurs frequently, so a more effective construction system is needed to reduce road damage. In the previous study (Sirait et al., 2022; Syenna et al., 2022), experimental research was carried out in the form of finned concrete slab construction which functions to increase the bearing capacity of the concrete slab. Variations on the tilt of the fins are used, namely 0 °, 10 °, 20 °, 30 °, and 40 °. This study found that concrete slabs with a fin slope of 30 ° produced the greatest carrying capacity of the other sample models. This research is still reviewing the same aspect, namely finding the optimal fin slope on concrete slab samples with variations of fin slope of 0 °, 10 °, 20 °, 30 °, and 40 °. However, the method used is a numerical method by making approximations to the original conditions of the samples. Simulating loading tests on cohesive soils and non-cohesive soils carried out samples. By this numerical method, it was found that concrete slabs with a fin slope of 10 ° had the highest bearing capacity of the other samples.

Abstract

The signalized intersection on Sultan Hamid II Road - Gusti Situt Mahmud Road "“ 28 Oktober Road "“ Selat Panjang Road is an intersection in Pontianak city with high traffic problems. The construction of the Landak parallel bridge initially aimed to reduce congestion, but this created an imbalance that caused congestion. This research analyses the performance of the intersection using the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual method and VISSIM software simulation. Data was collected in the form of intersection geometric data, traffic light cycle time, vehicle speed, and traffic volume taken for three days with a survey tool in the form of CCTV as a recorder at 06.00 - 18.00 WIB. Then, the data collected is processed into the basis of research to calculate the performance of the intersection in existing conditions and develop alternative improvement plans using MKJI 1997 and VISSIM software simulations. In the analysis with the MKJI 1997 method, the North road's service level is LOS C; the East road is LOS C; the South road is LOS B; the West road is LOS F, and the highest degree of saturation is 1.56. Analysis with VISSIM software simulation obtained the level of service of the intersection LOS C. After making alternative changes in cycle time, geometrics, and restrictions on the time of prohibition of passing obtained in alternative 15 with changes from signalized intersections to roundabouts and geometric changes.

Abstract

The research objective was to analyze the level and type of damage from every kind of damage on the Klakah Rejo Benowo road by calculating the rigid pavement condition index value and providing solutions. This study took the location of the Klakah Rejo-Benowo road section, Surabaya City"”data analysis by calculating the Deduct Value, m, TDV, CDV, and PCI. The research results state it was concluded that five types of damage occurred in Jalan Klakah Rejo-Benowo, Surabaya City. The types of damage are Grooves, Patches, Alligator Cracks, Weathering and Loose Granules, and Pits. Damage caused by high rainfall conditions ( 900mm/year) Daily Traffic Volume exceeds the provisions of the Binamarga. After analysis, it shows that the road pavement is in Moderate/Fair condition; field analysis results and values calculated using the PCI (Pavement Index Condition) method for damaged road conditions can provide recommendations for road repairs using the Asphalt Institute MS-17 method, namely patching and resurfacing. Based on the analysis of the road condition values obtained, the solution must be patched and re-coated so that water does not quickly seep into the road layer, which causes more severe road damage.

Abstract

The height of the bridge arch significantly impacts the strength and structural efficiency. Research on the height of the Tayan Bridge arch was conducted to determine the values and behaviour of member forces, structural weight, and deflection and to design the optimal arch height geometry. This research involved five variations of the arch height. The bridge structure was modelled using AutoCAD software. Relevant bridge loading data based on the SNI 1725-2016 standard was inputted into AutoCAD for structural design, and then the structure was modelled and analysed using SAP2000. The analysis results provided information on the bridge weight, deflection, and member forces. The analysis results were then compared with the bridge arch height, and this comparison was presented in the form of graphs. From the analysis results, it can be concluded that the bridge arch height has a positive linear relationship with the bridge weight. Tensile and compressive forces exhibit opposite behaviour. Increasing the arch height with constant value results in weight, deflection, and member force variations. Constantly expanding the arch height also does not lead to an increase in the stiffness of the bridge. Structurally, the optimal arch height is 42.134 meters.

Abstract

Road maintenance on the section of the road classified as a district road in the Sintang sub-district is the responsibility of the Sintang District Government. The financial constraints of the Sintang District Government, allocated annually in the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) of Sintang District, pose a challenge in realizing the plan for district road maintenance, whereas funding for road maintenance needs to be budgeted regularly to maintain the road conditions in good shape, therefore, in this case, stakeholders or decision-makers are expected to be able to consider and decide which road sections should receive recommendations for "urgent," "immediate," and "postponed" maintenance. The chosen road maintenance points must not solely prioritize the lowest construction costs, accessibility, or strategic area value. Indeed, in this case, an analysis is required to integrate various criteria, thus serving as the basis for a decision as the best choice. The research method is presented descriptively, explaining the determination of the scale for recommending maintenance of district roads. The data collection technique is carried out using primary data in the form of documentation photos of each road section and road condition data assessed using the Road Condition Index (RCI) method or road roughness index, as well as secondary data consisting of road inventory data, road condition data, accident data, area size data, socioeconomic data, and maps. The fulfillment of the Minimum Service Standards (MSS) for roads is then calculated based on the collected data. This includes both the MSS for individual road sections and the MSS for the road network. The fulfillment of the road network's MSS is divided into three aspects: accessibility, mobility, and safety. Based on the analysis of the MSS, it is categorized into three recommendations: "urgent," "immediate," and "postponed." After obtaining the recommendations for each road section, they are presented as a map. After obtaining the research results, two road sections fall under the "urgent" recommendation for road maintenance. For immediate recommendations, there are 15 road sections. Meanwhile, 44 road sections are included in the delayed recommendations for road maintenance to be carried out.

Abstract

Flood occurs when water overflows its banks due to inadequate channel capacity. Flooding typically results from too much precipitation, which prevents the channel from handling the water flow and results in a deluge. Pontianak City frequently faces severe and protracted flooding when it rains. Both high rainfall and rising sea levels, which impact the Kapuas River, might result in flooding. This argument states that this study was done to anticipate sea level rise for the next six years, which will impact Pontianak City's water flow height using tidal data from Pontianak's Climatology Maritime Station from 2016 to 2021. The average rate of sea level rise, calculated using the least squares approach, is 1.579 cm/year. With an increase rate of 0.017 cm/year, the average sea level rise forecast for the Kapuas River for the next six years is 1.789 cm. It will be necessary to reduce floods in the future to avoid the effects of water flow.

Abstract

Flooding is a recurring seasonal hazard that occurs when water overflows its natural channels and inundates surrounding areas. In the last three years, Singkawang City has experienced frequent flooding that has disrupted community activities, including education and public services, although no casualties have been reported. To reduce flood impacts, comprehensive and integrated flood management is required, beginning with the identification and mapping of flood-prone areas. This study aims to analyze tidal characteristics and assess flood vulnerability in Singkawang City by producing a zoning map of flood-prone areas. The analysis used several parameters, including distance from the coastline, river buffer, land slope, land elevation, and land cover. Flood-prone areas were mapped using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) combined with the weighted overlay method. The results show that 24,048.449 ha (43.947%) of the study area are classified as safe from flooding, while 19,938.498 ha (36.436%) are categorized as not vulnerable. Vulnerable areas cover 9,068.206 ha (16.571%), and very vulnerable areas cover 1,666.860 ha (3.046%).

Abstract

As part of transportation infrastructure, road infrastructure is essential in increasing community mobility and accessibility. When traffic volume increases or changes its characteristics, the intersection is the first thing that shows the inability to serve the increased traffic. Because intersections are critical points of the traffic system where vehicles from different directions meet, obstacles and traffic jams at intersections will affect the capacity of the road concerned, so the level of service at the intersection will decrease, including the speed, safety, and comfort of road users. This research aims to evaluate the performance of the third and fourth unsignaled intersections in Pontianak City (with a case study of the intersection of Jl. Sultan Abdurrahman-Jl. Sulawesi and the intersection of Jl. Alianyang-Jl. Putri Dara Nante-Jl. Putri Dara Hitam) and analyze alternatives to improve the performance of unsignalized intersections using Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia and the VISSIM program application. The intersection performance analysis results for existing conditions at the third unsignaled intersection have a level of service value of A, and at the fourth unsignaled intersection, a level of service value of B. Based on the intersection performance analysis results, the intersection in its existing condition does not require any treatment or recommendations to improve its performance road infrastructure.

Abstract

Abstract

Construction project work has several essential components: construction workers, tools, materials, and other needed facilities. The placement of tools, materials, and facilities in construction projects affects the efficiency of movement (traveling distance) and the level of worker safety (safety index). It is the background of this research aims to analyse the placement of tools, materials, and other facilities in the construction project of the Kubu Raya Regency Education and Training building. In this study, indicators to point out the placement of tools, materials, and other facilities have been optimized by using some indicators such as movement efficiency (traveling distance) and the level of worker safety (safety index). Four alternative placements were drawn up (including the existing placement in the current project), analysed, and assessed which alternative is the most optimal. The other options are selected by analysing those four alternatives using the Analytical Hierarchy Process method and evaluated by weighting ranking. The analysis results show that alternative 3 is the optimal alternative to the traveling distance and safety index indicators. Alternative 3 represents that the placement of tools, materials, and facilities on the project is carried out by conditioning the access space between facilities, which is made capacious to reduce the barriers of workers in moving from one facility to another
