Abstract

The family is part of the community, preparedness of disaster must be owned by the family because has an important role namely planning for family rescue in the event of a disaster emergency in determining whether or not ready impending disasters. Flood disasters often cause losses such as home, environment, property, and life. The purpose of this research is to analyze of family preparedness in flood disaster in Kendal Regency. The design of this research is descriptive survey approach. The sample in this study amounted to 157 family heads with proportional random sampling technique. Data collecting with form of a questionnaire with the validity test was in the range 0,468-0,786 and reliability test was 0,875. The analysis used an univariate. The results showed that the characteristics of family heads based on gender were dominated by male as many as 155 (98.7%), the average age was 40 years old with the youngest age 23 years and the oldest age was 72 years, the majority of high school education was 114 (72.6%) and labor dominated by 62 heads of family (39.5%). Family preparedness to flood disaster, majority was high categories were 103 heads of families (65.6%). The result of this study prove that people in Kendal regency are ready to face flood disaster.

Abstract

Early initiation of breastfeeding is the right of every baby. The obligation for health workers who provide assistance during labor is giving early initiate breastfeeding. However, not all babies are given an IMD and not all health workers do this. The causes are the lack of motivation of health workers in implementing early initiation of breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the motivation of health workers in implementation early initiation of breastfeeding at RSUD Dr. H. Soewondo Kendal. The research design used is quantitative with descriptive methods. The sample in this study amounted to 28 respondents with a total sampling technique. Instruments in the form of a questionnaire. Data analysis uses univariate. The results showed that the motivation of health workers in implementing Early Breastfeeding Initiation was in the "medium" category as much as 57.1%. Intrinsic motivation of health workers in the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation is mostly done, namely happy when the IMD is successful. Extrinsic motivation of health workers in the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation is mostly done by conducting IMD because there is a policy from the government. This research is expected to be used as input for health workers, especially midwives, in increasing motivation to provide early breastfeeding initiation.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia is only 42%. The low number of breast milk covers is due to the smooth production of breast milk. The smooth production of breast milk can be increased by various efforts, including maternal efforts. This research aims is to assess mothers' efforts to increase breast milk production. This research design is descriptif with crossectional design. The number of responden are 57 responden with total sampling. The results of this study represent the majority of mothers' efforts to increase breast milk production in the "less" category (64.9%) in Kebondalem Village. Efforts that have not been made by mothers during pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding, such as attending breastfeeding counseling and applying warm compresses to the breasts when they feel tight. The mother efforts that done during pregnancy are pregnancy exercise, consume vegetables that can improve breast milk produktion (lactogoge), also early breastfeeding initiation in childbirth periode and family support especially husband, psicological condition and comfort in post partum periode.

Abstract

HIV/ AIDS cases are an iceberg phenomenon with a much less reported number than the facts. A number of data reports that non-professional personnel are one of the highest contributors to the number of HIV/ AIDS cases in Indonesia. Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe sexual knowledge and behavior in the prevention of HIV/ AIDS among non-professional personnel in Kendal Regency. In this study, researchers used quantitative research methods using descriptive survey research design. The research sample consisted of 85 people with a purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that the majority of non-professionals have good knowledge of HIV/ AIDS (58.8%) but their behavior falls into the category of risky sexual behavior (71.8%). The conclusion of this study that the majority of respondents had a good level of knowledge of HIV/ AIDS and had risky sexual behavior.

Abstract

One of the most common occupational diseases in fisherman is dermatitis, lead to clinical abnormalities of polymorphic licensed (erythema, endemias, papules, vesicles, skuama, likenifikasi) and itchy complaints. This study aims to determined the relationship of personal hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) with complaints of dermatitis This research used cross sectional research design. The popoluation of studi are all of fisherman in Sugihwaras Village Pemalang district. The number of samples as much as 58 respondents obtained by using accidental sampling method. Data of personal hygiene and the use of PPE were collected by questionnaire. Data of dermatitical complaints were collected by medical person. Data analysis used Chi Square Test. 47% of respondents have poor personal hygiene and 57% of respondents who didn’t weared PPE are at risk of experience complaints of dermatitis in the body. The result of this research can be concluded that there are positive positive relationship between personal hygiene with dermatitis complaint (p value 0,003) PR (95%CI) = 2,01 (1,24 – 3,27), positive positive relationship between the use of personal protective equipment with dermatitis complaint (p value 0,005) PR(95%CI) = 2,02 (1,16 – 3,55). There are relationship between personal hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with complaints of dermatitis.

Abstract

It is estimated that each year there are 230 million surgeries performed worldwide. The most common response experienced by preoperative patients is a psychological response related to anxiety. Non-pharmacological management of preoperative anxiety hernia with one type of distraction, namely Dhikrpsychoreligius therapy. Quantitative research using pre-experimental type with a one-group pretest-posttest design without control group design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a total of 36 respondents. The data obtained by using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Based on the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, it was found that the pre-test-post-test changes with the results of the Sign value. 0.00> 0.05, so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. There is an effect of Dhikrpsychoreligious therapy on the level of anxiety of preoperative hernia patients in the bay room of RSI Sultan Agung Semarang.

Abstract

Chronic renal failure is a disease caused by a prolonged decline in kidney function. One of the treatments performed by patients with chronic kidney failure is hemodialysis therapy. Hemodialysis therapy is carried out continuously and may result in patient psychosocial pressure. Coping mechanisms are adaptive and maladaptive. Adaptive coping mechanisms are needed by patients with chronic renal failure to improve compilance to hemodialysis therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between coping mechanisms and compilance to hemodialysis therapy in chronic renal failure in the Hemodialysis Room of RSUD RA. Kartini Jepara. This research was quantitative research using cross sectional apporach. This research was conducted on 42 samples using purposive sampling technique. Processing data using the Spearman Rank correlation test. Results this research, respondents who had adaptive coping mechanisms were 41 people (97.6%), 1 person (2.4%) had maladaptive coping mechanisms. Respondents who were obedient in undergoing hemodialysis were 38 people (90.5%) and 4 people who were not compliant (9.5%). The statistics test results p value = 0,001 and Tcount = 0,481. Conclusion, Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected that means that there was a relationship between coping mechanisms and compliance with hemodialysis therapy in patients with chronic renal failure in the Hemodialysis Room of RSUD RA. Abstract

10,34% of the population of Central Java Province are the elderly people. The increasing number of the elderly people results in the indirect negative impact on the famies values which influence the drop of the elderly people’s welfare, lack of their role and status in the families, and loss of supports from their families. This research aims to explore the levels of the social functions of their families in which the elderly people live in Kedungsuren Village seen from the points of views of adaptation, partnership, growth, affection, and resolve. This research was conducted with the domain of quantitative design with a descriptive survey method. The total sampling technique was applied to 82 respondents. The instrument in the data collection was an APGAR family questionnaire. This research used a univariate analysis. The results of the research show that 61 respondents(74,4%), with whom the elderly people live, had less-healthy living conditions while 49 respondents (59,8%) were sometimes satisfied with social function adaptation. Similarly, 44 respondents (53,7%) were sometimes satisfied with the partnership of social functions and 35 respondents (42,7%) were always satisfied with the growth of social functions. 50 respondents (61,0%) were always satisfied with the affection of social functions. In addition, 72 respondents (87,8%) were always satisfied with the resolve of social functions. The families are expected to be able to improve communication, supports, and attention given to the elderly people in order to improve the families’ and the elderly people’s social functions. The level of social function of families living with the elderly in Kedungsuren Village is dominated by the level of unhealthy social function.

Abstract

Gout arthritis is a disease in which joint inflammation that caused by excess uric acid in the joint. The prevalence of joint disease in Indonesia is 7.3% in 2018 and the prevalence of prevalence of joint/ rheumatic/ rheumatic disease 20.1%, the prevalence of Gout Arthritis in Central Java is 25.5%. The major problem in gout artrhitis is pain with mild scale to unrestrained. Efforts to overcome joint pain can be done with pharmacological either non-pharmacological therapy. The non- pharmacological therapies is warm compresses and boiled bay leaves, that believes can reduce pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of warm compresses and bay leaf stew on the level of gout arthritis pain scale. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest with control group. 52 respondents were selected using total sampling technique. This study uses the Mann Whitney test with α 0.05. The results of this study showed p value 0.001 (p <0.05) which means there is a difference between the level of pain scale in patients with gout arthritis before and after warm compress therapy and giving bay decoction. For people with gout arthritis pain, should uses non-pharmacological interventions such as warm compress therapy or take a bay leaf stew to reduce the scale of pain.

Abstract

Syzygium aromaticum L.'s essential oil aromatherapy liniment formula is one of the external medicinal preparations used to relieve rubbing, massage and massage as well as relieving muscle and joint pain. Utilization of Syzygium aromaticum L. essential oil as a provider of active ingredients that can provide natural fragrance, sedative and analgesic effects in the liniment formula. This study aims to obtain the aromatherapy liniment formulation of Syzygium aromaticum L. essential oil so that the wind oil formula that is preferred by respondents and meets the requirements of traditional medicine is obtained. The experimental research the post test only controlled group design. The study was divided into 2 groups, namely the control group and the treatment group, namely the aromatherapy liniment formulation of Syzygium aromaticum L. essential oil with a concentration of 2.5% v / v, 5% v / v, 7.5% v / v, and control. Testing, organoleptic test, irritation test, pH stability test and respondent preference test. The results showed that the overall results of the Respoden's Preference test on the aromatherapy liniment of Syzygium aromaticum L. essential oil showed that consumers preferred the product at a concentration of 7.5% v / v.
