Abstract

This study was motivated by the need for science education that can develop critical thinking skills in elementary school students through a contextual and sustainable approach. The integration of Project-Based Learning (PjBL), Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), and STEM is seen as a relevant innovative strategy, but its implementation in the field has not been fully structured. This study aims to analyze teachers' perspectives on the application of ESD-STEM integrated PjBL in photosynthesis learning and to examine its implications for the development of students' critical thinking skills. The research used a qualitative approach with an instrumental case study design conducted in three public elementary schools in Bungursari District, Tasikmalaya City. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, learning observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed through a process of reduction, categorization, and thematic interpretation. The results showed that teachers had implemented project-based learning that encouraged active student involvement and fostered problem identification, cause-and-effect analysis, and data-based conclusion drawing skills, although the integration of ESD and STEM was still implicit and not yet fully systematic. This study concludes that the development of structured and reflective PjBL-ESD-STEM integrated teaching modules is necessary to optimize the development of students' critical thinking in sustainability-based science learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of descriptive writing skills among elementary school students, particularly in terms of idea development, paragraph organization, and spelling accuracy, as identified through a preliminary study in the fourth grade at SDN Pasirjaya. The learning environment, which is still oriented toward final results without focusing on the writing process, has resulted in students being unable to write systematically and elaboratively. This study aims to analyze the need to develop the RANI (Readiness, Analyze, Name, Interpret) Learning Model as the basis for designing a process-based writing learning model. The research used a qualitative approach with a preliminary study design (needs analysis). Data sources included 28 fourth-grade students and 12 teachers at SDN Pasirjaya, with data collection techniques in the form of diagnostic tests, learning observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that 43% of students were in the category of adequate writing ability, 29% were poor, and only 28% were good, with an average score of 68. These findings indicate the need for a structured, explicit, and process-based learning model as the basis for developing the RANI Model in the next stage of research.

Abstract

This study investigates the determinants of investment decisions among culinary Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Balikpapan, Indonesia. It addresses the critical need to understand why MSMEs, vital to economic resilience, often underutilize formal investment channels despite growing financial access. The research specifically examines the direct effects of financial literacy, financial inclusion, and gender behavior on investment decisions, and tests whether investment experience moderates these relationships. Employing a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected via surveys from 130 MSME owners/managers and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings reveal that financial literacy and investment experience have a significant positive direct impact on investment decisions. Contrary to expectations, financial inclusion and gender behavior showed no significant direct effects. Furthermore, investment experience did not function as a significant moderating variable. The study concludes that for culinary MSMEs in this context, practical knowledge and direct experience are paramount drivers of investment decision quality, overshadowing the role of their access to finance or gender-based behavioral predispositions. These results emphasize the importance of designing MSME support programs that prioritize experiential financial education over generic access expansion. The research contributes to behavioral finance literature by providing a nuanced, context-specific model for MSME investment behavior.

Abstract

This study investigates the determinant factors affecting the intention to stay among Account Officers at Indonesia's sole sharia bank employing the Grameen model to serve underprivileged women. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), it analyzes the influence of attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on retention intentions while evaluating the moderating role of compensation and benefits, particularly working facilities. Data were gathered via a structured survey and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the measurement model and structural relationships. Results indicate that all three TPB constructs significantly predict intention to stay, with perceived behavioral control emerging as the strongest factor. This underscores that Account Officers' confidence in managing job demands is pivotal to their retention decisions. However, compensation and benefits did not moderate these relationships, implying that in mission-driven roles like microfinance, financial incentives do not substantially influence the psychological and social drivers of sustained employment. These findings extend TPB's application to sharia microfinance banking, providing empirical insights into retention in community-oriented jobs. They highlight the importance of bolstering psychological support, supervision, and social ties as more effective retention strategies than compensation alone.

Abstract

The general lebak lebung auction is an area consisting of lebak, lebung, rivers and nyurung land (the term ex marga nyurung land is land that comes from/because of mud) which is naturally in the deep water season and a breeding ground for fish or other biota. This paper aims to describe and analyze the implementation of policies on the procedures for implementing lebak lebung auctions in 4 sub-districts in Sekayu District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study are that the implementation of policies on the procedures for implementing Lebak Lebung auctions in 4 sub-districts in Sekayu District has not been optimal due to the ineffective communication of policy makers and implementers, the low quality of human resources implementing the policy, and conflicts between farmers and land owners around Lebak Lebung and Rivers. To overcome these obstacles, the Regional Government is expected to better supervise the management of objects and improve coordination between Policy auction makers and implementers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of creative individuals in the development of superior captured fish products in Teluk Santong Village, SAMOTA area, Sumbawa Regency. Human resource creativity is an important factor in increasing the added value of fishery products through product innovation and business management. This associative study involved 97 respondents consisting of fishermen who had participated in product development training activities. Data were collected through questionnaires and processed using Smart Partial Least Square (SmartPLS) software to test the relationship between variables. Creative individuals were the independent variable, while the dependent variable was the development of superior products, with training as a medium for capacity building. The results showed that the creativity of capture fishermen had a positive and significant influence on the development of superior products through training. This means that the higher the level of creativity possessed by fishermen, especially after participating in training, the greater their ability to develop products based on captured fish with higher economic value and competitiveness. This finding confirms that the development of creative individuals is a key factor in driving local economic transformation based on marine and fisheries potential. Therefore, the sustainability of creativity-based training and mentoring programs needs to be strengthened to encourage the creation of sustainable superior product innovation in the SAMOTA area.

Abstract

The mangrove area of 6,286.80 hectares, managed by KPH Banyumas Barat on the coast of Cilacap Regency, faces various anthropogenic pressures, including land conversion to fishponds, residential expansion, and port or fishing infrastructure. However, comprehensive studies on the temporal dynamics of mangrove land cover change in this area remain very limited, even though this information is essential for formulating effective conservation and management strategies. This study aims to examine the multitemporal dynamics of mangrove land cover change (2019–2024) in KPH Banyumas Barat, Cilacap Regency, using a machine learning approach that combines Sentinel-2 imagery, multispectral vegetation indices, and Random Forest classification on the Google Earth Engine platform. The results show a decline in mangrove cover of 533.6 ha over the 2019–2024 period. Two phases of change were identified: during 2019–2022, mangrove area showed an increasing trend of 46.4 ha, while during 2022–2024, mangrove area decreased by 580.1 ha due to both natural and anthropogenic processes, which may weaken the ecological functions of the area, reduce coastal protection against abrasion, and threaten the livelihoods of coastal fishing communities whose income depends directly on the productivity of the mangrove ecosystem.

Abstract

Nurses are professionals who play a crucial role in hospital services, and high turnover intention can impact the quality of healthcare services. Increased workload due to changes in hospital status and suboptimal compensation are suspected to be factors influencing the emergence of job stress and turnover intention. This study used a cross-sectional quantitative approach with a survey method through a questionnaire to inpatient nurses. The data analysis technique used was Smart PLS. The variables studied included workload, compensation, job stress, and turnover intention . The results showed that workload did not have a significant effect on turnover intention directly. However, workload had a significant effect on job stress, and job stress had a positive effect on turnover intention . In addition, compensation had a negative and significant effect on turnover intention and on job stress. Mediation testing showed that job stress was able to mediate the effect of workload on turnover intention , but was unable to mediate the effect of compensation on turnover intention . The conclusion of this study is that job stress is a key variable in explaining the relationship between workload and turnover intention. Meanwhile, compensation has a direct effect on turnover intention without going through job stress. Therefore, hospital management needs to manage workload and work stress effectively and improve the compensation system to control nurse turnover intention .

Abstract

This study examines the replication crisis in marketing by providing a field-specific diagnosis and proposing methodological improvements to enhance research rigor. The replication crisis, characterized by the inability to reproduce empirical findings, has raised concerns about the credibility and reliability of marketing research. This article identifies key contributing factors, including questionable research practices such as p-hacking and selective reporting, lack of transparency in data and methods, publication bias favoring statistically significant results, and institutional pressures driven by the “publish or perish” culture. Using a qualitative literature review approach, this study synthesizes insights from prior research to explore the structural and methodological roots of the problem. The findings reveal that the replication crisis in marketing is not caused by a single factor but by an interconnected system of methodological weaknesses and institutional incentives. These issues undermine both the theoretical development of marketing and its practical applications in business decision-making. To address these challenges, the study proposes several key recommendations, including the adoption of open science practices, increased support for replication studies, improvements in research design and statistical analysis, and enhanced education on research ethics and methodology. By implementing these strategies, the marketing discipline can strengthen its scientific foundation, improve the reproducibility of findings, and restore trust in academic research.
