Journal of Education Research is a peer-refereed open-access journal which has been established for the dissemination of state of the art knowledge in the field of education. This Journal is published for time per year at March, June, September and December by Perkumpulan Pengelola Jurnal PAUD Indonesia. It is intended to be the journal for publishing original articles on the latest issues and trends occurring in education curriculum, instruction, learning, policy, and preparation of teachers with the aim to advance our knowledge of education theory and practice. Moreover, this journal also covers the issues concerned with environmental education. All submitted manuscripts will be initially reviewed by editors and are then evaluated by a minimum of two reviewers through the blind review process. This is to ensure the quality of the published manuscripts in the journal. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi bagi pembelajaran menulis kreatif dengan menggunakan metadata sensorik dalam mengeksplorasi ide siswa untuk menciptakan karya tulis yang baik berdasarkan budaya lokal.  Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan metode observasi, wawancara, tes dalam bentuk cerita tertulis, dan kuesioner. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 20 subjek penelitian. Deskripsi sensorik memberikan rangsangan yang dapat dideskripsikan oleh siswa dengan menggunakan metadata sensorik sebagai upaya untuk mempertajam deskripsi suatu objek yang digunakan sebagai ide tulisan. Hal ini melibatkan indra sebagai bentuk penguatan memori dan objek tulisan. Hasil tes kuantitatif menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis siswa memuaskan. Secara kualitatif, hal ini meningkatkan nilai kepercayaan diri siswa dalam menghasilkan karya baru karena memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa untuk menentukan ide mereka sebagai gagasan dalam kegiatan menulis. Selain itu, siswa menjadi lebih sadar pada budaya daerah mereka dan mengembangkan rasa cinta terhadapnya.

Abstract

Blended learning semakin banyak diterapkan dalam pendidikan inklusif untuk mendukung peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perspektif guru terhadap implementasi blended learning di kelas inklusif. Penelitian menggunakan desain fenomenologi kualitatif dengan melibatkan lima guru dari sebuah sekolah inklusif di Medan, Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur dan observasi kelas, lalu dianalisis menggunakan kerangka thematic analysis enam tahap dari Braun dan Clarke. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi empat tema utama, yaitu personalisasi dan pemberdayaan siswa, integrasi teknologi asistif dan digital, model pembelajaran blended learning, serta tantangan sistemik. Guru menyatakan bahwa teknologi asistif, seperti screen reader dan voice recognition tools, serta sumber belajar berbasis multimedia mampu meningkatkan partisipasi, kemandirian belajar, dan keterlibatan siswa di kelas. Sebagian besar guru juga menerapkan model flipped classroom dan station rotation untuk mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar yang beragam. Namun, penelitian ini menemukan beberapa hambatan, seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur teknologi, kurangnya pelatihan profesional, dan lemahnya kolaborasi antar pemangku kepentingan pendidikan. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya dukungan institusi, pengembangan profesional guru secara berkelanjutan, dan penyediaan sumber belajar digital yang aksesibel.

Abstract

Hasil observasi di SDN Ngadirgo 03 menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran IPAS masih terbatas dan belum memanfaatkan teknologi secara optimal sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Articulate Storyline serta menguji kelayakan dan efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV di SDN Ngadirgo 03. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 28 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes. Kelayakan media dinilai melalui validasi ahli, sedangkan efektivitas dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t-test dan N-Gain. Hasil menunjukkan media sangat layak dengan validasi ahli materi 94% dan ahli media 92%. Terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara pretest dan posttest (p < 0,05) dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,76 kategori sedang. Sehingga, media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Articulate Storyline efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar dan dapat menjadi solusi inovatif dalam pembelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Tuntutan akademik yang tinggi seringkali memicu fenomena academic burnout pada mahasiswa, terutama bagi mereka yang menjalankan peran ganda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan secara empiris tingkat   antara mahasiswa dengan peran tunggal dan peran ganda. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain komparatif, sampel penelitian melibatkan 35 mahasiswa FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga yang diambil melalui Teknik accidental sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan School Burnout Inventory (SBI) yang dianalisis dengan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan secara statistik pada tingkat academic burnout antara kedua kelompok (p = 0,990 > 0,05). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa kompleksitas peran bukan penentu utama kelelahan akademik, sebaliknya faktor internal seperti manajemen waktu dan efikasi diri terbukti lebih determinan. Oleh karena itu, perguruan tinggi perlu memprioritaskan penguatan resiliensi melalui program pelatihan manajemen waktu, pengelolaan stress, peningkatan dukungan sosial, dan lain sebagainya untuk menjaga keseimbangan akademik mahasiswa.

Abstract

Improving the quality of social studies learning at the elementary level requires innovative instructional strategies that accommodate diverse learner characteristics, including achievement motivation. This study aimed to examine the differential effects of Academic Constructive Controversy (ACC) and conventional learning on social studies outcomes among elementary students with varying levels of achievement motivation. A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group was employed, involving 28 students from SD 122/III Mukai Tengah as the experimental class and 27 students from SD 169/III Mukai Mudik as the control class. Data were collected using an achievement motivation questionnaire and a social studies achievement test, then analyzed through two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a 2×2 factorial design. The results indicated that ACC produced significantly higher social studies outcomes than conventional learning, and that achievement motivation level moderated this effect. Students with high achievement motivation benefited substantially from ACC, whereas those with low motivation showed more modest gains. These findings underscore the importance of aligning instructional methods with student motivational profiles to optimize learning outcomes.

Abstract

The erosion of local cultural values in contemporary society has raised serious concerns about the moral and character development of young learners in Indonesia. This study aimed to investigate the implementation of Serayo local wisdom as a strategy for strengthening student character at SDN 113/III Sako Dua. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with teachers and students serving as research informants. Data were gathered through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive model. The findings revealed that Serayo local wisdom values—encompassing mutual cooperation, respect for elders, social solidarity, and environmental stewardship—were systematically integrated into classroom learning, school culture, and daily routines. These practices demonstrably reinforced students' honesty, responsibility, and social sensitivity. The study concludes that culturally rooted instructional approaches serve as an effective and sustainable foundation for character education in elementary schools. These findings imply that local wisdom-based learning models can be systematically developed and replicated across diverse cultural contexts in Indonesia, offering a practical framework for educators and policymakers seeking culturally responsive approaches to character education.

Abstract

The growing demand for postgraduate education in Indonesia has prompted increasing interest in master's programs, including those in elementary education. However, empirical evidence on the factors that motivate students to pursue these programs remains limited, particularly in private universities. This study aimed to identify and analyze the dominant factors influencing students' decisions to enroll in the Master of Elementary Education Program at the Postgraduate Program of Universitas Adzkia. A quantitative survey design was employed, involving 80 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire and analyzed through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The results revealed five dominant factors that cumulatively explained 63.7% of the total variance: academic quality (18.34%), career advancement (13.91%), institutional reputation (9.17%), personal motivation (7.57%), and financial considerations (5.46%). Among these, academic quality and career advancement emerged as the most influential determinants, indicating that students weigh both academic excellence and professional relevance when making graduate enrollment decisions. These findings suggest that graduate programs must prioritize academic excellence and career relevance to attract prospective students effectively.

Abstract

The quality of social studies learning at the elementary school level remains a concern, particularly regarding the limited use of innovative media and students' low intrinsic motivation. This study aimed to examine the effect of interactive PowerPoint media and learning motivation—both individually and simultaneously—on the social studies learning outcomes of fifth-grade students. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed. The subjects were 151 fifth-grade students selected through proportional random sampling from a population of 243 students across nine public elementary schools in Siulak Mukai District. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression, the coefficient of determination, t-tests, and F-tests. The results revealed that interactive PowerPoint media had a significant positive effect on learning outcomes (t = 4.23, p = 0.001, Cohen's d = 0.68), as did learning motivation (t = 3.87, p = 0.002, Cohen's d = 0.61). Simultaneously, both variables significantly predicted learning outcomes (F = 18.74, p < 0.001), accounting for 62.3% of the variance in learning outcomes (R² = 0.623). These findings suggest that elementary school teachers should systematically integrate interactive PowerPoint media into social studies instruction while concurrently implementing motivation-enhancing strategies—such as immediate feedback, goal-setting activities, and contextually relevant content presentation—to sustainably optimize student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Kesehatan moral merupakan dimensi mendasar dalam perkembangan siswa secara holistik, namun determinan-determinannya dalam konteks sekolah dasar masih kurang dieksplorasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab terhadap kesehatan moral siswa di SDN 12/III Koto Petai. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksplanatoris asosiatif, data dikumpulkan dari 85 siswa melalui instrumen kuesioner yang telah divalidasi dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa disiplin berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesehatan moral (β = 0,412, p < 0,001), dan tanggung jawab juga menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan (β = 0,358, p < 0,001). Secara bersama-sama, kedua variabel tersebut menjelaskan 49,1% varians kesehatan moral siswa. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pembinaan kebiasaan disiplin dan rasa tanggung jawab secara sistematis dalam pendidikan awal guna membentuk karakter moral yang baik.

Abstract

Elementary education constitutes a critical foundation for students' academic and cognitive development, where the interplay between creativity and reading literacy has been increasingly recognized as essential determinants of learning achievement. This study investigated the effects of creativity and reading literacy on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at Sekolah Dasar Negeri 96/III Bunga Tanjung. A quantitative research design with an associative-predictive approach was employed, involving 28 fourth-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through validated questionnaires and reading literacy assessments, subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression. Results indicated that both creativity and reading literacy exerted significant positive effects on student learning outcomes, both partially and simultaneously, with reading literacy emerging as the stronger predictor (β = 0.52) compared to creativity (β = 0.38), and both variables jointly explaining 58.7% of the variance in academic performance (R² = 0.587). These findings suggest that cultivating creativity and reading literacy in early education is imperative for improving students' overall learning outcomes.
