Abstract

The modern workplace is currently undergoing a significant transformation driven by digitalization, where work is no longer confined to a fixed location or rigid schedule. The emergence of hybrid work systems has become an adaptive response by organizations, providing employees with greater opportunities to balance professional responsibilities and personal life (work-life balance). However, this flexibility also presents challenges, as the boundaries between professional and personal roles often become blurred, which may ultimately affect job satisfaction. In this context, music in the workplace emerges as a relevant supporting element, not only as background sound but also as a means to create a comfortable work atmosphere, enhance concentration, and maintain a positive mood. This study aims to examine the impact of work-life balance and hybrid work on job satisfaction, with music in the workplace positioned as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from hybrid workers, which were then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to explore the relationships among variables. The findings indicate that well-maintained work-life balance and the effective implementation of hybrid work significantly improve job satisfaction. Furthermore, music in the workplace plays a mediating role that strengthens these relationships. Theoretically, this study contributes to the human resource management literature by highlighting the importance of psychological aspects in flexible work environments, while practically, it suggests that organizations should not only focus on flexibility but also consider employees’ emotional well-being to sustain job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the influence of motivation, organizational culture, and job satisfaction on employee performance at the Gerokgak I Community Health Center, Buleleng Regency. The population consisted of all 59 employees, and a saturated sampling technique was applied, resulting in the entire population being used as the research sample. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of IBM SPSS version 25. The results indicate that motivation (β = 0.525; p < 0.001), organizational culture (β = 0.263; p = 0.010), and job satisfaction (β = 0.244; p = 0.005) each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Among these variables, motivation emerged as the most influential factor, as indicated by the highest standardized coefficient. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly affect employee performance (F = 68.460; p < 0.001), with a coefficient of determination (R² = 0.789), indicating that 78.9% of the variance in employee performance can be explained by the model. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening employee motivation, supported by a conducive organizational culture and improved job satisfaction, to enhance performance in public healthcare institutions.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the hospitality sector has led to changes in employee work patterns, particularly related to multitasking practices in service activities. This condition must be able to influence the perception of service quality by guests, especially in face-to-face contact. Research Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of multitasking in service on the perception of service quality by guests in star-rated hotels. Research Design: A quantitative approach and exploratory survey design were used. Data were collected using an online questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale from 172 respondents obtained through purposive sampling. We focused on guests who stayed at star-rated hotels during the past year and had experience interacting directly with employees. Descriptive analysis and simple linear regression were used in examining the data. Based on the results, the employee multitasking variable was found to be at a high level and service quality was in the medium category. The Responsiveness and Empathy dimensions received the lowest scores compared to other dimensions. As we can see from the regression, employee multitasking negatively and significantly affected service quality (β = −0.487, P = 0.000). Thus, these results indicate that the more staff multitasked, the lower the service quality perceived by guests. These findings have implications for hotel management to balance employee workload so that service quality is not compromised.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the online travel industry in Indonesia has intensified competition among Online Travel Agent platforms, highlighting the importance of understanding factors influencing repurchase intention. This study aims to examine the effects of e-service quality and e-trust on repurchase intention, with e-WOM as a mediating variable, among users of Traveloka. A quantitative causal research design was employed, involving 190 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that e-service quality has a positive and significant effect on both repurchase intention and e-WOM. E-trust significantly influences repurchase intention but does not significantly affect e-WOM. Furthermore, e-WOM positively affects repurchase intention and partially mediates the relationship between e-service quality and repurchase intention. However, e-WOM does not mediate the relationship between e-trust and repurchase intention. These results indicate that e-service quality serves as the primary driver of repurchase intention, both directly and indirectly through positive electronic word-of-mouth, while e-trust functions mainly as a direct determinant of repeat purchase decisions.

Abstract

This study proposes a predictive modeling approach to measure the level of smartphone addiction in adolescents by transforming a conventional binary classification model into a continuous regression model. The use of categorical labels often fails to capture the complex spectrum of addictive behaviors, so this study implemented the Random Forest Regressor algorithm to predict addiction scores on a scale of 1.0 to 10.0. The experimental results show that the regression model is able to provide high prediction accuracy, as evidenced by the coefficient of determination obtained R^2 of 0.8607 and a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.2854. These findings confirm that the regression approach offers better data resolution in mapping the degree of digital dependency than classification methods. In practice, this model produces a continuous score that provides a dynamic tool for mental health professionals. This approach allows for objective monitoring of patient’s behavioral progress during recovery. Furthermore, this model can facilitate multilevel psychological interventions and tailored care, from early prevention to therapy for high-risk addicts.
