Abstract

This study aims to analyze the overbooking management strategy implemented by Garuda Indonesia Airlines at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, Lombok. This study contributes to the field of management science by providing insights into operational decision-making, service recovery strategies, and customer relationship management in the aviation industry. The research method used is a qualitative analytical approach, with data obtained from primary data collected through observation and interviews and secondary data collected through documentation and literature studies. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. To test the validity of the data, triangulation techniques and a double-check process were used with respondents to ensure the suitability, accuracy, and consistency of the data obtained during the study. The results of the study indicate that overbooking generally occurs during peak travel periods, especially when major events are held in Lombok. The handling strategies implemented include reminders and confirmation of passenger departures, a personal approach in conveying information, strategies for identifying passengers affected by overbooking, rebooking flights, providing compensation and supporting facilities, upgrading service classes if available, providing waiting rooms during waiting times, as well as Ticket Sales Control and monitoring of passenger data. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening operational controls, reservation system accuracy, and service coordination to minimize the impact of overbooking in order to maintain operational effectiveness and passenger satisfaction.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital communication technologies has significantly transformed interactions between healthcare providers and patients, creating new opportunities to strengthen patient engagement and improve healthcare service relationships. This study aims to explore how digital patient engagement through WhatsApp communication contributes to the development of patient loyalty in healthcare services. An intrinsic qualitative case study was conducted in two private medical practices in West Bandung Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 16 patients and 2 general practitioners, complemented by participant observation and document analysis of WhatsApp-based communications. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and key themes related to digital communication, patient engagement, and loyalty. The findings reveal that WhatsApp facilitates clear, responsive, and personalized communication between physicians and patients, enhancing communication quality and patient satisfaction. These positive communication experiences strengthen patient trust in physicians’ competence, integrity, and benevolence, which subsequently contribute to patient loyalty. Patient loyalty was reflected in repeat visits, emotional attachment to physicians, and willingness to recommend healthcare services to others. The study identifies a relational pathway in which communication quality fosters satisfaction and trust, ultimately supporting the development of long-term patient loyalty. The study highlights the importance of integrating simple digital communication platforms in healthcare services to strengthen patient relationships and improve service sustainability in the digital era.

Abstract

The acceleration of digital transformation in the industry 4.0 era has fundamentally changed the way organizations conduct business processes, make decisions, and build competitive advantage. These changes have also broadened the spectrum of organizational risks, making them increasingly complex, interconnected, and difficult to predict. This phenomenon has created an urgent need for risk management strategies that are no longer reactive, but rather adaptive, proactive, and data-driven. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between digital transformation and adaptive risk management strategies, focusing on how digitalization expands organizational risk from the operational level to the strategic, socio-technical, and systemic levels. This research uses a structured conceptual literature review that examines academic books, scientific journal articles, industry reports, and relevant policy documents, particularly those published in the last five years. Source collection was carried out through the stages of identification, selection, relevance evaluation, final document determination, and analysis using an interpretive qualitative approach and thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that digital transformation reconfigures organizational strategies, business processes, and decision-making patterns, while increasing vulnerability to risks in cybersecurity, data privacy, reputation, governance, and human resource readiness. This study confirms that organizations need adaptive risk management supported by digital leadership, data and security governance, organizational readiness, and continuous learning. The article's primary contribution lies in the formulation of an integrative conceptual framework linking digital transformation, the expansion of the organizational risk spectrum, adaptive risk management, and organizational resilience.

Abstract

Digital transformation in public administration requires integrated and efficient personnel information systems. However, personnel management at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office of Simalungun Regency remains semi-manual and fragmented, resulting in process inefficiencies, data inconsistencies, and limited information accessibility. This study seeks to develop and assess a web-based personnel information system by applying the User-Centered Design (UCD) approach to enhance service quality and optimize the user experience. The UCD method was applied iteratively through context analysis, user requirement specification, solution design, and usability evaluation. The developed system integrates geofencing-based attendance with real-time location monitoring, workflow-based leave management, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI)-based performance evaluation within a centralized platform. The usability assessment using the System Usability Scale (SUS) with 30 respondents yielded a mean score of 91.25 (Grade A), indicating excellent usability and high user acceptance. The findings further demonstrate that the integration of User-Centered Design (UCD) principles and geofencing technology contributes to improved attendance accuracy, administrative efficiency, information accessibility, and transparency in personnel management. The proposed system contributes to digital government transformation by providing an integrated and user-oriented solution for personnel administration in public sector organizations.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Bitcoin risk perception on stock investment decisions by considering the mediating roles of financial literacy and investor trust. The rapid development of digital financial technology, particularly cryptocurrencies, has introduced new dimensions of risk that influence investor behavior across financial instruments. This research adopts a quantitative approach with an explanatory design, involving 120 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that Bitcoin risk perception has a positive and significant effect on financial literacy, investor trust, and stock investment decisions. Furthermore, financial literacy and investor trust significantly influence stock investment decisions and serve as partial mediators in the relationship between Bitcoin risk perception and investment decisions. These findings suggest that higher awareness of cryptocurrency risk encourages individuals to enhance their financial understanding and develop rational trust, ultimately leading to more informed investment decisions in the stock market. This study contributes to the integration of behavioral finance and financial technology by highlighting the indirect mechanisms through which risk perception shapes investment behavior. Practically, the results emphasize the importance of financial education and transparent information in improving investor decision-making in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the way organizations operate, communicate, and manage human resources. This change requires a transformation in leadership styles that is not only oriented towards managerial skills, but also on technological mastery, flexibility, innovation, and the ability to build collaboration. This study aims to examine the transformation of leadership styles in facing the challenges of the digital era and identify relevant leadership models to support organizational success. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA approach through the stages of identification, selection, feasibility, and inclusion. Literature was obtained from Google Scholar using keywords related to leadership style transformation and leadership in the digital era. The results of the study indicate that leadership transformation occurs in various sectors, such as government, education, business organizations, and information services. The leadership styles that are often recommended are digital, transformational, adaptive, democratic, and participatory leadership. These styles play a role in improving communication, collaboration, innovation, employee engagement, learning quality, and the organization's ability to adapt to technological changes. Thus, leadership in the digital era requires a clear vision, empathy, openness to change, continuous learning capabilities, and the strategic use of technology to create an innovative, productive, and responsive organization.

Abstract

The rapid growth of financial technology (fintech) is reshaping how consumers manage their finances, particularly through e-commerce platforms such as Shopee. Among its innovations, the SPayLater feature has gained wide attention but also raised concerns about impulsive spending and low digital financial literacy among consumers. This study investigates the influence of digital financial literacy and consumptive behavior on consumers’ decisions to use SPayLater, while also testing the mediating role of behavioral intention. A quantitative survey was conducted with 100 SPayLater consumers using a structured questionnaire, and the data were analyzed through multiple linear regression and path analysis. The findings show that both digital financial literacy and consumptive behavior significantly affect consumers’ decisions, whereas behavioral intention does not have a direct effect but partially mediates the relationship between consumptive behavior and usage decisions. These results highlight the importance of strengthening consumers’ digital financial literacy and managing consumptive behavior to encourage wiser and more responsible use of fintech services.

Abstract

This study examines the synergistic effect of transformational leadership and work environment on employee performance in the hospitality industry in Manado City, focusing on Aston Manado Hotel and Roger Hotel Manado. A quantitative approach was employed using a purposive sampling technique, involving 77 permanent employees (42 from Aston Manado Hotel and 35 from Roger Hotel Manado) as respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS 26. The findings reveal that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (β = 0.451; t = 7.431; p < 0.001), while the work environment also exerts a positive and significant effect on employee performance (β = 0.343; t = 6.103; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables explain 64.1% of the variance in employee performance (R² = 0.641; F = 66.03; p < 0.001). These results confirm a synergistic relationship between transformational leadership and the work environment, indicating that their combined influence on employee performance is stronger than their individual effects. The study provides practical implications for hotel management by highlighting the importance of strengthening transformational leadership competencies, particularly in inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, and employee empowerment, as transformational leadership emerged as the strongest predictor of employee performance. Hotel managers are encouraged to implement structured leadership development programs, regular coaching sessions, and performance feedback mechanisms to enhance employee engagement and productivity. Furthermore, organizations should invest in improving both the physical work environment, including workplace facilities, safety standards, and employee comfort, and the psychological work environment through effective communication, teamwork, and organizational support. Given that transformational leadership and work environment jointly explain 64.1% of employee performance variance, hotel management should adopt an integrated human resource strategy that simultaneously develops leadership quality and workplace conditions. Such initiatives can improve employee productivity, service quality, guest satisfaction, and overall organizational performance in the hospitality industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the E-Letter application in the coordination process among agencies within the Regional Secretariat of Buleleng Regency, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study holds significant relevance in supporting the government’s digital transformation agenda, particularly through optimizing the use of information technology to enhance the effectiveness of public administration. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, with data analysis conducted using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the E-Letter application has been relatively effective and has contributed significantly to improving efficiency, speed, and accuracy in administrative correspondence processes. The results also reveal that communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure, as outlined in Edward III’s theory, play a crucial role in determining the success of the implementation. However, several challenges remain, including unstable internet connectivity, suboptimal system performance, limited integration with external parties, and uneven user training. These findings imply the need to strengthen digital transformation policies, particularly through improving technological infrastructure, enhancing application features, and developing human resource capacity. This study recommends the development of a more flexible and integrated system as a strategic step toward improving the quality of governance.
