Abstract

In 2018, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Papua Province initiated the Musabaqah Qiraatul Kutub (MQK) program for Penghulu, yet its effectiveness encountered impediments attributed to various factors. This qualitative study employed data mining techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation, supplemented by relevant scientific literature as secondary sources. The theoretical framework utilized for analysis was Soerjono Soekanto's effectiveness theory, and data analysis unfolded through sequential stages of reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings delineate two primary inhibiting factors: a prevalent deficiency in reading and understanding the Yellow Book among participating Penghulu and constraints in budget allocation for the activities. This underscores a sociological construct, elucidating obstacles to the effectiveness of the Musabaqah Qiraatul Kutub (MQK) program. The theoretical implications underscore the imperative of enhancing human resources, facilities, and budgetary allocations to augment Penghulu competence in comprehending and interpreting the Yellow Book. It is pertinent to acknowledge the study's limitations, given the absence of an exploration into the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Papua Province's post-program strategy concerning Penghulu lacking proficiency in reading and understanding the Yellow Book.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of a survey on the understanding of the motto "Faith, Knowledge, Charity" at Garut University, which only reached 15.4% of the academic community. From a communication perspective, this raises concern for the researcher, as meaning is the substance of the ongoing communication process. The aim of this research is to explain the motto "Faith, Knowledge, Charity" from the aspects of motivation, experience, and meaning. The research method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, literature study, and documentation. Research subjects were selected using purposive sampling, with a total of 11 informants and 3 sources. The results show that the motive for using the motto "Faith, Knowledge, Charity" is the founders' desire to transform the entire academic community of Garut University into beneficial human beings, a field for good deeds, and a source of motivation to achieve the goals of Garut University. The communication experience can be seen in the implementation of the motto through worship to God, doing good deeds to others, and the execution of functions by each element at Garut University. The meaning contained in the motto serves as a foundation for the academic community to carry out every activity, functioning as a motivational drive and a form of responsibility towards the social environment, applied both on campus and in society, to realize the vision, mission, and goals of Garut University.

Abstract

Pre-marital guidance plays a pivotal role as the initial gateway to fostering a harmonious marriage characterized by tranquility, affection, and compassion, thereby strategically contributing to the reduction of divorce rates. This research aims to elucidate the Communication Strategies of Islamic Community Guidance of Garut Regency in Pre-marital Counseling for Couples, focusing on understanding the audience, composing messages, determining methods, and selecting media. The research utilized a descriptive qualitative approach, incorporating data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, literature review, and documentation. Anwar Arifin's Communication Strategy Theory was applied for data analysis. The findings unveiled a four-phase communication strategy employed by the Bimbingan Masyarakat Islam of Garut Regency: 1) audience understanding through observing community habits, profiling prospective couples, and identifying characteristics; 2) message crafting covering attention, delineating materials for fostering a harmonious family, and generating interest through interactive activities; 3) adopting an informative approach for material delivery while incorporating diverse methods tailored to participants' needs; 4) adapting media choices based on local situations and community conditions, leveraging widely favored social media platforms.

Abstract

The government initiated an impactful campus program, namely the role of campuses that not only produce graduates but also transform people's lives. One of them is through campus social responsibility based on Islamic values. This study aims to explore the contribution of universities in developing networks and digitizing BUMDes Lumintu in Blora Regency and at the same time carry out the role of preaching in society through Islamic values. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation and in-depth interviews with BUMDes managers, lecturers, students, and other stakeholders. Data were analyzed systematically to understand the role of campuses in village empowerment. The results of the study show that universities play an important role in strengthening networks through collaboration with the government and community. Despite challenges in infrastructure and community involvement, the synergy between academics, government, and the community in different ways, namely through taujih, irsyad and himayah has proven effective in supporting BUMDes development. The University Social Responsibility (USR) approach provides a relevant model for village empowerment, emphasizing the importance of active participation from all parties. Sustainable and collaborative programs are expected to be a catalyst for more independent and sustainable village development.

Abstract

Digital communication has reconfigured Indonesian Islamic propagation, establishing podcasts as a dominant medium for younger Muslims. This study examines the representation of moderate dakwah by Habib Husein Ja’far Al-Hadar on Deddy Corbuzier’s YouTube channel. Utilizing qualitative content analysis frameworks from Krippendorff and Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, the research analyzes three high-viewership videos focusing on tolerance and interreligious dialogue. Findings reveal that moderate dakwah is constructed through three operational pillars: tasamuh (tolerance), which affirms universal human values across theological differences; tawassuth (the middle way), which offers measured, character-based responses to social conflicts; and la ’anf (non-violence), which uses casual humor and culturally resonant language to dismantle intimidatory discourse. Furthermore, the study introduces the concept of “Digital-Interreligious Homophily,” arguing that moderate dakwah in new media environments relies less on formal religious authority and more on communicative parity achieved through cultural ego-reduction. While this claim is limited to textual representation and has not been tested against audience-response data, it provides a significant modification to classical persuasion communication theory as applied to contemporary Islamic digital media.
