Abstract

Stroke is defined as an episode of neurological dysfunction resulting from focal infarction of the brain, spinal cord, or retina, confirmed by pathological findings, imaging, or other objective evidence of ischemia within a specific vascular territory. Alternatively, stroke may be diagnosed based on the presence of clinical symptoms persisting for ?24 hours or resulting in death, provided other potential causes have been excluded. Stroke patients may experience cognitive, sensory, and motor dysfunction as a result of brain cell damage, which can affect their ability to communicate and carry out daily tasks. Objective: To ascertain the correlation between acute infarction stroke patients' cognitive performance and stroke severity at Dr. Sutomo Surabaya Hospital Methods: An analytical observational cross-sectional design was used in this investigation. Patients diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke who were admitted to Dr. Soetomo Surabaya Hospital between February and May 2023 and who satisfied the inclusion and exclusion criteria made up the study population. A consecutive admission strategy was used for sampling. Serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score were evaluated upon admission. Results: The study included 30 patients in all, 14 (46.7%) female and 16 (53.3%) male. There is a correlation between MMSE and NIHSS, according to statistical tests that deem these results significant. The table's results for the correlation test between MMSE and NIHSS Score using the Pearson test show that the p-value is 0.000, where the value is < 0.05. The correlation test's r value is 0.905, meaning that the degree of association between the MMSE score variable and NIHSS is 0.905, or 90.5%, and that the value falls into the strong relationship strength category. The MMSE and NIHSS scores have a negative association; a high or big MMSE score will result in a low NIHSS score, and vice versa. Conclusion: There is a strong negative correlation between MMSE score and functional level assessed by NIHSS in patients with acute ischemic stroke, and statistically significant.

Abstract

Advertising campaigns with Korean celebrities as brand ambassadors is a prominent strategy utilised by Indonesian e-commerce brands. However, previous researches showed inconsistencies of the effectiveness of these type of campaigns attributed to two underlying factors: incompatibility of the said brand ambassadors with the product and audience demographics; or when content itself fails to capture audience engagement. This research focuses on the latter by analyzing formats and topics found in @bliblidotcom Instagram contents with idol NCT 127 as their brand ambassadors, considered to be successful in raising brand awareness and generating high engagement. A quantitative content analysis was conducted on 73 contents with NCT 127 and compared the formats and typologies used in each content with the engagement obtained. This research’s findings reaffirm previous studies, where brand ambassadors can increase audience engagement in the form of likes regardless of the message formats and topics. However, for engagement in the form of comments, the message format should optimize the visual strength of the brand ambassadors in combination with topics that encourage direct (live events) and indirect/parasocial (incentives and interactive related to the brand ambassador) interactions between the audience and Korean celebrities.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions and experiences of Human Resources (HR) practitioners regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the recruitment process at multinational companies in Indonesia. Using an exploratory qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving eight informants from five different companies. The findings indicate that AI has a positive impact on improving efficiency and accuracy during the early stages of recruitment, such as application screening and psychometric analysis. However, several challenges arise concerning system transparency, potential algorithmic bias, and candidates' perceptions of unfairness. This study also emphasizes the importance of the human role in the final stages of recruitment, particularly in decision-making processes that require empathy, intuition, and ethical considerations. Thus, collaboration between AI and HR is considered the most ideal approach to create a recruitment process that is efficient, fair, and human-centered.

Abstract

Ischemic stroke remains one of the leading causes of long-term disability worldwide, with recovery dependent on the brain's neuroplastic potential. This review aims to evaluate the role of animal models in elucidating the mechanisms of neuroplasticity following stroke and their relevance to clinical application. Using qualitative literature analysis, the study synthesizes findings from various animal models including rodents, non-human primates, zebrafish, and Drosophila. Rodent models, particularly the middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO), have been instrumental in identifying key processes such as BDNF-driven synaptic remodeling, VEGF-induced angiogenesis, and glial involvement in tissue repair. Additionally, systemic modulators like the gut-brain axis, immune responses, and extracellular vesicles are increasingly recognized for their influence on recovery. Despite these insights, most studies disproportionately utilize young, healthy male animals, limiting their relevance to diverse patient populations with comorbidities and aging factors. The findings suggest a need for integrative, multimodal research that incorporates molecular techniques, imaging, and behavioral assays, along with cross-species validation, to improve translational outcomes. This review underscores the necessity of leveraging a broader spectrum of animal models and advanced methodologies to develop effective, personalized therapies for post-stroke rehabilitation.

Abstract

The regulation of health services in Indonesia has been subject to heightened oversight in accordance with Law No. 17 of 2023 concerning Health. This legislative act encompasses provisions for the delivery of health services, in addition to the establishment of legal safeguards for patient rights. Among the rights protected by this legislation are the rights to privacy, confidentiality, and access to information. This study analyzes the legal dimensions that focus on cases in hospitals. The present study examines the legal protection of patient rights with regard to the act of recording or photographing without permission in the hospital. The aim of the study is to provide recommendations to strengthen patient privacy protection and more effective law enforcement. The study employs an empirical legal method, which involves the examination of normative legal provisions and the collection of primary data directly from the field through surveys, interviews, and field reports. The results of the study indicate that certain legal norms are not being implemented effectively. For instance, the rules in each area prohibit photography without authorization, and the hospital has established accountability measures for individuals who take pictures or record activities without permission. These individuals may be subject to sanctions.
