Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the design of liquid organic fertilizer fermentation equipment (ALFEPUNIC). ALFEPUNIC is a tool specifically designed to help facilitate the anaerobic process of fermenting liquid organic fertilizer equipped with a stirrer, removable filter, faucet, hose as a drain for gas, and a sterile bottle. In this study the method used was descriptive qualitative research method with a focus on testing the fermentation tool to determine the increase in the quality of the fermented liquid organic fertilizer. The results showed that the ALFEPUNIC tool worked optimally which was marked by organoleptic from 20 respondents who gave statements, 90% said the liquid organic fertilizer did not smell strong and 75% said the color was not cloudy. The liquid organic fertilizer test from the ALFEPUNIC tool showed an increase in the growth of kale seeds which was faster than the gallon tool and those that were watered with water. Liquid organic fertilizer fermentation tool (ALFEPUNIC) can improve the quality of liquid organic fertilizer to be better than fermentation using a tool without modification (gallon).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the survival and growth of chrysanthemum plants on Arduino-based automatic watering. The procedure of this research included making the ardiuno uno automatic watering device, planting potted chrysanthemum, testing the tool and collecting data on the growth and humidity of potted chrysanthemum. The experiment consisted of 2 treatments, namely watering using an Arduino software based on a humidity sensor and manual watering. The plant varieties used in this study were yellow standard chrysanthemum, red standard chrysanthemum and white standard chrysanthemum. After the plants were 2 weeks after planting (MST), vegetative growth was measured once a week for 7 weeks. Survival analysis was carried out by calculating the percentage of live and dead individual watering results. Growth analysis was performed by multivariete cluster analysis and bioplots using the paleontological statistics (PAST) program. The results of the calculation of the survival percentage show that the watering that has the best survival is arduino uno(DA) watering with 83% and the survival from manual watering (KO) is 80%. The results of the adaptation similarity analysis based on growth characteristics can be grouped into 2 parts. The first group with adaptive characters were DA-SP, KO-SP, KO-SK and DA-SK. The second group with more adaptive characters were DA-SM and KO-SM.

Abstract

This research aims toto find out the description of the consumption pattern of adolescent drinks during the pandemic in the Ngimbang sub-districtandfind out what types of drinks are often consumed by teenagers during the pandemic in the Ngimbang sub-district. The benefits of this research are expected to provide insight, description, knowledge to the public as well as information about drinking consumption patterns in adolescents.The approach in this study uses a qualitative approach. Qualitative research is descriptive in nature and tends to use analysis with an inductive approach. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling, the collection technique was by triangulation by distributing questionnaires directly to the respondents, the data analysis was inductive/qualitative in nature, and the research results were presented using tables of frequency and percentage proportions. The location of this research was carried out in Ngimbang District, Lamongan Regency. The research results show: 1)the average water consumption pattern of all respondents is 1,850 ml per day, when compared to the recommendations in research conducted by (Aprillia & Khomsan, 2014), the average of all respondents who consume water is still insufficient, teenage boys Boys have an average consumption of water higher than girls. 2) out of 40 respondents, 15.9% of respondents regularly consumed spiced drinks during the COVID-19 pandemic with a frequency of 1 time one day.

Abstract

This research aims to produce seeds from the crossbreeding of nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) of the jabir, nirwana, and sultana strains, as well as Mozambique tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus). The crosses involved using male jabir nile tilapia with female nirwana nile tilapia and male mozambique tilapia with female sultana nile tilapia. The breeding was conducted in a 1:3 ratio of male to female. The spawning process occurred over a 16-day cycle, followed by a 28-day period of larval rearing. Crossbreeding between jabir and nirwana resulted in a higher spawning rate (17%) compared to the crossbreeding of mozambique and sultana (7%). The specific growth rate of seeds from the jabir and nirwana cross (14%) was not significantly different from the mozambique and sultana cross (13%). The survival rate of seeds from the jabir and nirwana cross (80%) was higher than from the mozambique and sultana cross (70%). Crossbreeding between male jabir nile tilapia and female nirwana nile tilapia exhibited better performance compared to the crossbreeding of male mozambique tilapia and female sultana nile tilapia.

Abstract

One of the factors that affect the growth and productivity of coffee plants is largely caused by microclimates such as air temperature, air humidity, wind speed and light intensity related to the type of shade used. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the use of shade on the growth and productivity of robusta coffee plants. This observation was carried out on the agroforestry coffee plantation land of Wonosalam District. The coffee plants observed were 5 to 7 years old, and the shade used in the observations were lamtoro trees, avocados and sengon trees. While the research design used was a randomized experimental design consisting of control shade and plant shade. Thus, based on the results of observations that have been made for one month, the highest results in the first week were obtained 25.5-26.30C at air temperature. While the highest observed humidity occurs in the first week and fourth week by 71%. The highest wind speed occurs in the third and fourth weeks of 4.8-5.0 km / hour. The highest light intensity produced occurred in the third week of the control shade, which was 37020 LUX. The results of these observations prove that the use of shade plants has no real effect on the production and growth of robusta coffee plants.

Abstract

Kue bolu kukus umumya adalah kue yang berbahan dasar tepung terigu yang pengolahannya dengan cara dikukus. Untuk mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap pemanfaatan tepung terigu, maka harus ada bahan alternatif pengganti umbi-umbian lokal, salah satunya adalah umbi uwi (Dioscorea alata). Tepung uwi sebagai subtitusi tepung terigu pada pembuatan kue bolu diharapkan dapat memperoleh kue bolu yang baik dan disukai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan perbandingan konsentrasi tepung uwi sebagai subtitusi tepung terigu yang terdiri dari enam perlakuan, yaitu A (100%:0), B (80%:20%), C (60%:40%), D (40%:60%) E (20%:80%), F (100%:0). Penghimpunan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode daftar pertanyaan kepada 9 panelis dengan 3 kali ulangan untuk setiap sampel. Data hasil kuesioner akan diubah dalam bentuk scoring dan dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis varians (ANOVA) dengan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) dengan taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kue bolu dari 6 perlakuan dari uji organoleptik warna, aroma, kegurihan, dan kemanisan mendapatkan nilai sama rata dari hasil pengujian panelis, kecuali pada tekstur. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah perlakuan yang menggunakan tepung uwi lebih banyak maka hasil yang didapat akan semakin kurang bagus menurut panelis.

Abstract

Cabai (Capsicum L.) merupakan komoditas tanaman yang banyak diminati oleh masyarakat di Indonesia, namun produktivitas cabai di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah karena terkendala juga oleh serangan penyakit yang mengakibatkan kehilangan hasil. Penyakit layu yang disebabkan oleh fungi patogen Fusarium sp. dan penyakit antraknosa yang disebabkan oleh fungi patogen Colletotrichum sp. merupakan penyakit penting pada tanaman cabai. Tanaman yang terserang penyakit tersebut cenderung mengalami penurunan produktivitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pengendalian dan mekanisme antagonisme menggunakan Penicillium spp. terhadap fungi patogen Fusarium sp. dan Colletotrichum sp. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Penyakit Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya mulai bulan Desember 2023 sampai dengan bulan Juni 2024. Penelitian dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan meliputi sterilisasi alat dan bahan, pembuatan media PDA, isolasi fungi patogen, pemurnian fungi (antagonis dan patogen), identifikasi makroskopis dan mikroskopis, uji antagonis in vitro, pengamatan makroskopis dan mikroskopis, serta perhitungan persentase daya hambat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Penicillium spp. mempunyai efektivitas kurang dari 40% (minimum) dalam menekan pertumbuhan fungi patogen Fusarium sp. dan Colletotrichum sp. Mekanisme penghambatan yang terjadi antara Penicillium spp. terhadap Fusarium sp. adalah kompetisi dan antibiosis, sedangkan mekanisme antara Penicillium spp. terhadap Colletotrichum sp. adalah kompetisi.

Abstract

Cascara atau teh kulit kopi sebenarnya sudah beredar di pasar internasional tetapi masih sangat jarang ditemukan di Indonesia karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan minat masyarakat tentang keberadaan produk teh kulit buah kopi. Oleh karena itu penanganan limbah kulit kopi (cascara) sangat penting dilakukan, karena selama ini telah menimbulkan masalah karena dibiarkan membusuk, ditumpuk, dan dibakar  dapat menyebabkan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan sekitar.  Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah memanfaatkan sumber daya alam tersebut dengan mengolah limbah kulit kopi menjadi olahan atau produk lainnya dengan nilai ekonomis tinggi, yaitu teh celup kulit kopi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama pengeringan terhadap kadar kafein dan tanin dari produk teh celup kulit kopi (cascara) Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksprimental dengan pendekatan data kuantitatif.  Penelitian ini menggunakan bahan kulit kopi (cascara) Excelsa Wonosalam Jombang. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan dan menggunakan oven pada suhu 50°C dengan variasi lama waktu pengeringan yang berbeda yaitu T1 3 jam, T2 4 jam, dan T3 5 jam. Setiap perlakuan memliki berat 200 gr cascara. Kadar Kafein dan tanin dianalisa dengan menggunakan Spektofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama waktu pengeringan yang berbeda dapat memberikan pengaruh tidak beda nyata (P<0,05) pada kafein dan tanin teh celup kulit kopi.
