Abstract

PROFIT ANALYSIS OF ORGANIC FERTILIZER BUSINESS IN CV AGRONIAGA MANDIRI SUB-DISTRICT BINTAUNA. The purpose of this study was to determine the company profits per year. This research was done at CV Agroniaga Mandiri as the only company that produces organic fertilizer in the Bintauna Sub-district, North Bolaang Mongondow Regency.  Data collected consist of primary data and secondary data. The primary data were collected by interview with questions list or quetionnaire, while secondary data were obtained from government  agency that related with this research such as Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of North Bolaang Mongondow. Data were analyzed with profit function method. The results showed that the total cost of production, revenue and profit of organic fertilizer business that obtained by CV Agroniaga Mandiri sequentially Rp. 259, 294,100 / year, Rp.405,000,000/year and Rp.145,705,900/year. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat fisik dan organoleptik produk makanan Ilabulo dengan menggunakan bentuk dan ukuran daging ayam broiler. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari daging ayam broiler, sagu dan bumbu lainnya. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini yaitu bentuk dan ukuran daging yakni P1 = daging dipotong kecil-kecil, P2 = daging digiling, dan P3 = daging dicincang. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Variabel pengukuran meliputi pengujian sifat fisik dan pengujian organoleptic. Data yang diperoleh dari setiap pengukuran variabel dianalisa dengan analisis varian pada tingkat kepercayaan 95% dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT untuk setiap perbedaan rataan pada semua variabel penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa potongan daging pada produk Ilabulo tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap kadar sifat fisik daging.  Namun pada uji organoleptik bentuk potongan daging memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap terhadap citarasa, warna, tekstur, aroma. Warna produk ilabulo, panelis lebih menyukai daging yang dicincang, sementara untuk aroma ilabulo daging yang giling dan dicincang lebih disukai oleh panelis, demikian pula cita rasa ilabulo masih panelis lebih menyukai daging yang dicincang. Untuk variabel tekstur daging yang dicincang lebih disukai dibanding dengan daging yang dipotong kecil-kecil. Kesimpulan bahwa produk ilabulo yang berasal dari daging broiler yang dipotong kecil-kecil, digiling dan dicincang tidak memberikan perbedaan dilihat dari aspek pH, daya mengikat air dan kadar air. Namun daya akseptabilitas lebih diminati produk ilabulo yang berasal dari daging broiler yang dicincangKata kunci : makanan ilabulo, daging broiler, bentuk dan potongan daging

Abstract

UTILIZATION OF SEVERAL SUCROSE LEVELS ON SENSORY CHARACTERISTICS OF COWS MILK. The present study was conducted to investigate the utilization of several sucrose levels on sensory characteristics of cow milk kefir. Materials used in the study were: UHT milk, grain kefir, skim milk, sucrose, distilled water (aquadest), alcohol, spiritus or methylated spirit.  A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 40 replications (panelists) was used in the present study. Treatments were formulated as follow: A0= sucrose 0% + grain kefir 5%, A1= sucrose 2% + grain kefir 5%, A2= sucrose 4% + grain kefir 5%, A3= sucrose 6% + grain kefir 5%, and A4= sucrose 8% + grain kefir 5%. Sensory test was conducted using hedonic scales. Variables measured were: sensory characteristics consisted of colors, aroma, viscosity, and taste. Tukey test was further employed to analyze treatment differences. Different between treatment(s) was declared at P < 0.05.  Research results showed that sucrose levels at 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% treatments gave a significant effect (P < 0.01) on aroma, viscosity, and taste, but color was not affected (P > 0.05) by treatments. It can be concluded that the utilization of sucrose at the level of 6% (A3) as most preferred by panelists based on sensory characteristics colors, aroma, viscosity, and taste. Keywords : Kefir, Grain Kefir, Sucrose, Sensory

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan perilaku konsumen yang membeli daging ayam ras pada Pasar tradisional dan pasar modern di kota Manado.  Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode survey dengan berpedoman pada  kuesioner. Lokasi penelitian di tentukan secara purposive pada pasar bersehati dan Jumbo swalayan masing masing mewakili pasar tradisional dan pasar modern. Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik Accidental Sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku konsumen dalam pembelian daging ayam ras adalah faktor Karakteristik konsumen yang meliputi variabel umur, pendidikan, pekerjaan, dan pendapatan, faktor produk yang meliputi variabel lokasi, promosi, dan kualitas, serta faktor harga yang meliputi variabel harga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara perilaku konsumen yang berbelanja daging ayam ras di Pasar tradisional dan Pasar modern di Kota Manado (P<0,05).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan mengenai karakteristik sarang Tarsius. Diharapkan dengan deskripsi ini dapat dibuat suatu modifikasi sarang Tarsius. Manfaat yang diharapkan adalah memberikan informasi mengenai karakteristik sarang Tarsius di Cagar Alam Tangkoko dan sebagai referensi pengetahuan dalam bidang konservasi satwa langkah dan endemik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Cagar Alam Tangkoko Batuputih Bitung Sulawesi Utara selama 61 hari dengan menggunakan 10 sampel sarang Tarsius. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi. Variabel penelitian ini adalah Jenis vegetasi, bentuk sarang, lingkaran pohon dan ketinggian sarang dari permukaan tanah, suhu dan kelembaban sarang dan variabel penunjang antara lain adalah ketinggian sarang dari permukaan laut (mdpl) dan vegetasi sekitar sarang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian jenis vegetasi, ditemukan bahwa semuanya adalah pohon jenis Ficus sp dengan rataan lingkaran pohon adalah 8,169 m. Bentuk sarang Tarsius tidak beraturan dan lubang sarang umumnya berbentuk bulat lonjong dan berbentuk persegi dengan ketinggian sarang antara 1,5 m sampai 13 m. Suhu dalam sarang Tarsius antara 20,97°C sampai 23,92°C dan kelembaban sarang Tarsius antara 77,3% sampai 81,4%.  Rataan ketinggian sarang dari permukaan laut adalah 53 mdpl. Vegetasi di sekitar sarang Tarsius ditemukan 24 jenis vegetasi yang di dominasi oleh vegetasi jenis Leea indica dari famili Leeaceae.

Abstract

NUTRITION CHARACTERISTICS OF BUFFALO MILK FROM TORAJA, MAKASSAR. The study was conducted to analyze the nutritional content of milk in Toraja Belang Buffalo. The research method took samples of Toraja Belang buffalo milk in Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi. Sample was put at the cool box before analyzing its nutritional content. The nutrient content of the milk sample was analyzed using a Lacto scan analyzer to see water content, ash content, protein, fat, lactose and BKTL. The results showed that nutritional content of Belang Toraja buffalo milk consisted of protein (3.17%), fat (12.97%), lactose (4.37%), water content (79.49%), ash content (0.88 %) and SNF / BKTL (8.42%).

Abstract

ANIMAL WASTE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT FOR PREVENTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION IN KOTAMOBAGU CITY. The animal wastes from animal farm affect the environmental condition of human settlement, when it was not well managed. The objectives of this study was to evaluate either levels of knowledge, attitude and technical skill had correlated directly or not with their motivation activity in preventing environmental pollution of animal wastes around Kotamobagu city. Variables in this study were referring on the farmer’s standard knowledge (X1), attitude (X2), technical skill (X3) and motivation activity in preventing environmental pollution of animal wastes (Y) around Kotamobagu city using the functions of linear multiple regression, Yi = b0 + b1X1 + b2X2 + b3X3 + ei; where Yi was the-i observation of farmer’s  motivation activity in preventing environmental pollution of animal wastes; b0 was intercept; b1, b2 and b3 were regression coefficients, X1 was farmer’s knowledge, X2 farmer’s attitude, X3 was farmer’s technical skill in preventing environmental pollution of animal wastes; and e1 was random error. Results of this study showed that knowledge level (X1), attitude (X2) and technical skill (X3) of farmers could be the important factors affecting farmer’s motivation activity in preventing environmental pollution of animal wastes (Y) in Kotamobagu city areas.  The equation of multiple regression model was found, Y = 1.468 + 0.784 X1 + 0.218 X2 + 0.004 X3. The determination coefficient (R2) of 0.81 in this model indicated that 81 percents of the variation of independent variables (X1, X2, and X3) used in the model were able to affect the variation of the dependent variable (Y). The rest of 19 percents in the model were caused by the other unknown factors. The average score values of knowledge level (X1=87.23), attitude (X2=93.37) and technical skill (X3=88.40) and farmer’s motivation activity (Y=90.60) in preventing environmental pollution of animal wastes (poultry and pig) in Kotamobagu city areas were still below the score median values (X1=93; X2=100; X3=100; Y=93) of those variables. This condition suggested that extension activities related to the prevention of environmental pollution of animal wastes in Kotamobagu city areas were still needed to be conducted, mainly to the farmers with low scores in knowledge, attitude, technical skill and motivation activity in preventing environmental pollution of animal wastes. Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF THE USE OF VARIOUS FILLERS TOWARDS THE PALATABILITY    OF CHICKEN NUGGET. The objectives in this research is to observe and study the fillers that vary in producing the formulation of chicken nugget which were received by the consumers observed from the physical. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Science Sam Ratulangi University Manado, The Laboratory of Nutrient Fakulty of Animal Husbandry Sam Ratulangi University Manado. The material used in this research was meat and fat of non-productive layer (culled) as much as 6400 gram, devided into 16 samples, each sample weighed 100 gram fat and 300 gram meat. The research was carried out through an experient, a completely randomized design with four replications. The fillers Used in this treatment are; T1 (Sago), T2 (Tapioka) T3 (Maizena), T4 (Glutten Rice). The Quality of chicken nugget according to the parameter ini this research was as follows; the palatability (Taste, texture, tenderness and general acceptance). From the result of this research it was concluded that the filler which used tapioca (T2) and Sago (T1), had produced chicken nugget which was much better, compared to the use of maizena (T3), glutten rice flour (T4), and generally accepted by the consumers, supported by their characteristics.Keyword: Palatability, Filler, Chicken Nugget, Organoleptic

Abstract

ABSTRACT Mandar bird ( Gallirallus ) or in Minahasa called with less weris bird has long been known by the people of North Sulawesi , Minahasa and especially the City of Kotamobagu. Is a bird in the family Rallidae family of birds that have a small to medium body size. General habitat of this bird is close river swamp or lake . Weris birds usually breed in thrive densely vegetated areas by Rusila (1994 ) . Identify the problem at least some information about morphometric characteristics some species of weris bird. In North Sulawesi city of Kotamobagu the purpose of this study was to obtain data morphometric characteristics of weris birds in the city of Kotamobagu. The expected benefits of the research , provide information about morphometric charaeteristics of weris birds , which is useful in the breeding process . Based on the results of research conducted in the City of Kotamobagu Bolaang Mongondo North Sulawesi , found 2 different types of weris birds that Gallirallus philippensis and Gallirallus torquatus . Of the two types of birds have different characters that can be seen from the outside or exterior appearance , and also can be seen from the size where Gallirallus philippensis have a smaller size compared to Gallirallus torquatus. . Abstract

UTILIZATION  OF BANANA CORM (Musa paradisiaca L.) IN DIET ON BROILER CHICKENS PERFORMANCE. The research on the utilization of banana (Musa paradisiacaL.) corm in broiler diet aimed to determine its effect on the performance of broilers, namely the feed intake, weight gain, and feed conversion ratio. The birds used were 100 unsexed days old chicks. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The composition of the treatment as follows: R0 = 55% corn + 0% banana corm meal (BCM), R1 = 50% corn + 5% BCM, R2 = 45% corn + 10% BCM, R3 = 40% corn + 15% BCM. The result showed that the treatment had a significantly different effect on feedintake, body weight, and feed conversion ratio. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that banana corm can be used up to 10% in broiler chicken diet.
