Abstract

Mathematics anxiety is a prevalent affective barrier that hinders elementary school students’ ability to engage with and succeed in mathematics, particularly in topics such as standard units of water volume measurement. This condition often leads to passive behavior, reduced confidence, and avoidance of mathematical tasks. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Gamified Escape Room method in reducing mathematics anxiety among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Ciherang 1. A quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed, involving 35 participants selected through total sampling. The instrument used was the Modified Abbreviated Math Anxiety Scale (mAMAS), consisting of nine statements measured on a five-point Likert scale. The intervention integrated challenge-based educational games, group collaboration, and sequential problem-solving activities. The findings showed that the mean mathematics anxiety score decreased from 22.23 to 19.57, representing a reduction of 2.66 points. The paired-samples t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a t-value of 5.968 with 34 degrees of freedom, confirming a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. These findings suggest that gamification-based learning is effective in creating a more positive and enjoyable learning experience, reducing students’ mathematics anxiety, and supporting the development of numeracy literacy through interactive and collaborative problem-solving activities. The study implies that teachers may consider the Gamified Escape Room method as an alternative instructional strategy to foster a more comfortable and engaging mathematics learning environment.

Abstract

Leprosy remains a public health concern in Indonesia; however, hospital-based data describing patients receiving care at regional facilities remain limited. This study aimed to describe the clinical and demographic characteristics of patients with leprosy receiving outpatient treatment at Sanjiwani Regional General Hospital, Gianyar, from 2021 to 2025. A descriptive observational study with a retrospective design was conducted using secondary data obtained from medical records. Total sampling was applied to all medical records that met the eligibility criteria; of the 37 identified patients, 35 were included in the analysis. The variables assessed included age group, sex, domicile, paucibacillary/multibacillary (PB/MB) classification, acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smear results, and leprosy reactions. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and presented as frequencies and percentages. Most patients were aged 45–65 years (54.3%), male (65.7%), and resided in Gianyar Regency (85.7%). Multibacillary leprosy was identified in 30 patients (85.7%), AFB smear positivity was observed in 20 patients (57.1%), and leprosy reactions were documented in 19 patients (54.3%), comprising type 1 reactions in 11 patients (31.4%) and type 2 reactions in 8 patients (22.9%). These findings provide a hospital-based profile of patients with leprosy, characterized predominantly by adults, males, multibacillary disease, positive AFB smear results, and documented leprosy reactions. The results may serve as baseline information for service evaluation and further research while highlighting the need for early recognition of reactions and nerve function assessment to prevent disability.

Abstract

Human resources represent a strategic element in hospital organizations because employee performance directly contributes to service quality and organizational effectiveness. In a complex healthcare environment, effective leadership and organizational communication are considered important factors influencing employee motivation and performance. This study aims to examine the role of leadership and communication in improving employee performance through work motivation at Sentra Medika Cikarang Hospital. This research employed a quantitative approach using an explanatory research design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to hospital employees using a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results indicate that leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, while communication does not have a direct significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, leadership and communication significantly influence work motivation; however, work motivation does not significantly mediate the relationship between leadership and communication and employee performance. These findings indicate that leadership plays a more dominant role in improving employee performance compared with communication and motivation mechanisms. This research contributes to human resource management studies in healthcare organizations by providing empirical evidence regarding the factors influencing employee performance. The findings imply that hospital management should strengthen leadership practices, develop effective communication systems, and consider other organizational factors to improve employee performance.

Abstract

The performance of the IDX80 portfolio declined significantly from 2022 to 2024, particularly in the finance, basic materials, and infrastructure sectors, accompanied by a decrease in price-to-book value. This condition raised questions regarding whether environmental transparency through sustainability reports could enhance corporate performance and firm value. This study aimed to analyze the effect of environmental aspect disclosure in sustainability reports on firm performance and firm value, with firm age as a moderating variable. A quantitative causal approach was employed using secondary data obtained from annual reports, sustainability reports, and stock market data of companies in the finance, basic materials, and infrastructure sectors listed in the IDX80 index during the 2022–2024 period. Purposive sampling resulted in 25 companies and 75 observations. Environmental disclosure was measured using an Environmental Disclosure Index based on 34 indicators from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards; firm performance was proxied by Return on Equity (ROE), while firm value was measured using Price-to-Book Value (PBV). Data were analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results indicated that environmental aspect disclosure had a positive and significant effect on both firm performance and firm value. Firm age did not moderate the effect of environmental disclosure on firm performance but strengthened the effect of environmental disclosure on firm value. These findings suggested that environmental transparency enhanced corporate performance, reputation, and investor confidence, particularly among companies with longer operational histories. Therefore, regulators and corporate management should encourage more comprehensive and credible environmental disclosures as strategic instruments for improving firm performance and value.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has given rise to deepfake technology, which can generate or manipulate images, audio, and videos to make them appear authentic. The misuse of this technology may be employed to attack a person’s honor and reputation. This study aims to analyze the criminal law regulation of deepfake content that harms a person’s reputation, as well as the criminal liability of its creators and disseminators. This research employs a normative legal method using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. The results of the study indicate that the misuse of deepfake technology may be subject to criminal charges under the provisions of the National Criminal Code and Article 27A of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law) if the elements of a criminal offense are fulfilled. Criminal liability is imposed on parties who commit the unlawful act and possess criminal intent or negligence, whereas AI developers cannot be held automatically liable without evidence of direct involvement and fault. Therefore, strengthening criminal law policies and enhancing digital forensic capabilities are necessary to effectively address the misuse of deepfake technology.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Value-Added Tax (VAT) collection policy in Indonesia’s e-commerce sector and estimate its revenue potential. The study uses e-commerce transaction data and VAT revenue data for the 2019–2021 period. Policy effectiveness is analyzed using tax buoyancy and tax elasticity coefficients through the Divisia Index method, while potential VAT revenue is projected using the decomposition method. The results show that the tax buoyancy coefficient for the e-commerce sector is 5.768, while the tax elasticity coefficient is 4.158, with a discretionary policy effect coefficient of 1.670. The higher buoyancy coefficient compared with tax elasticity indicates that the VAT collection policy has contributed positively to increasing tax revenue beyond the natural growth of the tax base. The projection results indicate substantial VAT revenue potential from e-commerce transactions, estimated at IDR 56.54 trillion in 2022 and IDR 73.99 trillion in 2023. These findings demonstrate that the e-commerce sector has significant potential as a source of VAT revenue in Indonesia. Therefore, optimizing tax collection mechanisms, strengthening transaction data integration, and simplifying tax administration procedures are necessary to maximize VAT revenue from the e-commerce sector.

Abstract

Spatial planning and land use in urban strategic areas face significant challenges arising from rapid commercial growth, extensive land conversion, and ecological degradation. In Jayapura City, intensive physical development along commercial corridors, coastal zones, and riverbanks has increased flood vulnerability and resulted in violations of statutory spatial zoning requirements. This study aimed to analyze the legal position and liability of the Public Works Agency in supervising land use in strategic areas under Law Number 26 of 2007 and Law Number 6 of 2023, while evaluating empirical supervisory mechanisms and operational challenges in the field. This research employed an empirical legal research design with a socio-legal approach, combining statutory and doctrinal analysis with semi-structured, in-depth interviews with key municipal officials, spatial planners, and business actors in Jayapura City. The results demonstrated that the legal liability associated with the Public Works Agency encompassed three interrelated dimensions: administrative liability arising from technical verification and the issuance of graduated administrative warnings; civil liability based on the doctrine of onrechtmatige overheidsdaad (unlawful government acts) for negligent omissions resulting in public losses; and individual criminal liability under Article 73 of Law Number 26 of 2007 for the unlawful issuance of permits. In practice, supervision combined digital verification through the Online Single Submission Risk-Based Approach (OSS-RBA), Building Approval (Persetujuan Bangunan Gedung [PBG]), and Certificate of Proper Function (Sertifikat Laik Fungsi [SLF]) systems with field inspections and public complaint mechanisms. However, enforcement remained constrained by the limited availability of Civil Servant Investigators (Penyidik Pegawai Negeri Sipil [PPNS]), the absence of real-time Geographic Information System (GIS)-based auditing systems, and disputes involving customary land rights. This study contributes to the theoretical framework of government liability in spatial governance and provides practical recommendations for developing integrated interagency standard operating procedures.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the significant relationships between family function, classroom climate, and learning motivation among Grade VIII students at SMPP Nurul Hikmah Al-Hakim. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design using an ex post facto method. The research population consisted of all Grade VIII students at SMPP Nurul Hikmah Al-Hakim, Jonggol, West Java, with a total of 86 students selected through a cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire as the primary instrument and analyzed using t-tests, F-tests, and multiple linear regression analysis to examine the effects of family function (X1) and classroom climate (X2) on learning motivation (Y). The results showed that family function did not have a significant effect on learning motivation, with a regression coefficient of 0.064, indicating a positive direction but no statistical significance. Classroom climate had a positive and significant effect on learning motivation, with a t-value of 4.327, a significance value of < 0.001, and a regression coefficient of 0.453. Simultaneously, family function and classroom climate significantly affected learning motivation, with an F-value of 14.117 and a significance value of < 0.001. The R-square value of 0.254 indicated that the two independent variables explained 25.4% of the variance in learning motivation, while the remaining 74.6% was explained by other factors outside the research model. Further research is recommended to investigate other factors influencing students’ learning motivation beyond family function and classroom climate.

Abstract

Cultural continuity increasingly depends on educational approaches that connect local knowledge with meaningful learning processes. In the Amarasi community of Kupang Regency, Gong Timor music embodies values of social solidarity, respect, responsibility, and cultural identity; however, its educational potential has not been systematically integrated with contemporary learning theories. This study aimed to formulate a conceptual model that integrates cognitive theory, constructivism, and ethnopedagogy in Gong Timor music learning. A qualitative conceptual approach was employed through a literature review of books, journal articles, and previous studies related to learning theories, traditional music, local wisdom, and Amarasi cultural practices. The collected materials were analyzed using content analysis involving concept identification, categorization, comparison, and theoretical synthesis. The findings indicated that cognitive theory explained learners’ understanding of rhythmic patterns, musical structures, and symbolic meanings, whereas constructivism explained knowledge construction through observation, imitation, participation, and social interaction. Ethnopedagogy contextualized these processes by positioning local wisdom and cultural values as primary learning resources. The integration of these perspectives resulted in a holistic learning model that connects learners’ prior experiences and community contexts with musical understanding, practical skills, character development, and cultural identity formation. The study concluded that Gong Timor can serve as a contextual learning medium that bridges cultural practices and formal education while supporting sustainable intergenerational cultural transmission.

Abstract

Construction delays remain a significant challenge because they increase costs, disrupt project schedules, and reduce the effectiveness of project delivery. This study aimed to examine the effects of manpower, materials, implementation methods, construction equipment, and contractor cash flow on the time performance of the Sumbawa Shrimp Pond Construction Project Phase 1A (Main Facility Building) in West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 66 project personnel selected using purposive sampling based on their involvement in the project and minimum work experience of five years. Instrument validity and reliability were assessed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25, while the relationships among variables were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results showed that all five factors had positive and significant effects on project time performance. Materials had the strongest effect (B = 0.442; t = 5.794; p < 0.001), followed by contractor cash flow, implementation methods, manpower, and construction equipment. These findings indicate that effective material procurement and distribution, adequate financial availability, appropriate construction methods, competent workforce management, and reliable equipment collectively contribute to improved schedule performance. The study concluded that integrated resource management, with material management as the primary priority, is essential for minimizing delays and achieving project completion targets.
