Abstract

High consumption of junk food among adolescents may potentially affect blood pressure and body mass index (BMI); however, as of 2024, no specific study had examined this relationship among students at State Vocational High School (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri [SMKN] 39 Jakarta). This study aimed to determine the relationship between junk food consumption, blood pressure, and BMI among students of SMKN 39 Jakarta, while also examining the issue from an Islamic perspective. This analytical study employed a cross-sectional design involving 87 eleventh-grade students from SMKN 39 Jakarta who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data on junk food consumption were collected through a questionnaire, while blood pressure was measured using a digital sphygmomanometer, and BMI was calculated based on measured body weight and height. The relationship between variables was analyzed using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed that the majority of respondents had low junk food consumption (83.9%), normal blood pressure (66.7%), and normal BMI (41.4%). The Spearman rank correlation test indicated no significant relationship between junk food consumption and systolic blood pressure (r = ?0.102; p = 0.349), diastolic blood pressure (r = ?0.158; p = 0.144), or BMI (r = 0.020; p = 0.854). It was concluded that junk food consumption was not significantly associated with blood pressure or BMI among students at SMKN 39 Jakarta, which may have been influenced by other factors, such as physical activity and overall dietary patterns. From an Islamic perspective, food consumption should adhere to the principles of halal, thayyib, and moderation as part of maintaining physical health.

Abstract

English textbooks serve as important resources in vocational education because their content should support students’ academic development, disciplinary learning, and preparation for workplace communication. This study aimed to evaluate the relevance of topics presented in the SPLASH English textbook for Grade XI Software Engineering students at SMKN Palang, Tuban, in relation to students’ learning contexts, curriculum objectives, and workplace requirements. The study employed a textbook evaluation design. Data were collected through document analysis, interviews with an English teacher, and student questionnaires. The data were then organized, coded, categorized, compared, and interpreted through source triangulation. The findings showed that the textbook was aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum through the integration of the Pancasila Student Profile, PISA-oriented critical-thinking activities, visual representations, mini-projects, structured assessments, scaffolding, and a genre-based approach. However, the topics remained relatively general and did not adequately address the authentic communication needs of the software industry. Students’ engagement, learning motivation, and preparedness for the business and industrial sectors depended on stronger connections between English learning and vocational contexts, including coding, UI/UX design, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and IT project communication. The study concluded that the textbook should be supplemented with English for Specific Purposes (ESP) materials, industry-based speaking and listening simulations, and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approaches supported by collaboration between English and vocational subject teachers.

Abstract

International student mobility exposes students to unfamiliar academic cultures, intensive workloads, language demands, and psychological pressures, making psychological safety and effective stress management essential for successful adaptation. This study aimed to identify the academic and psychological pressures experienced by Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2024 awardees at Yale University, examine how psychological safety was established, and explain its relationship with stress management. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving 15 Indonesian awardees from nine universities. Data were collected during a three-month Yale Summer Session through participant observation, informal open-ended interviews, personal reflective journals, and relevant secondary sources. Source triangulation and thematic analysis were conducted to organize the findings into themes of academic pressure, psychological safety, coping strategies, and relationships among constructs. The findings revealed that pressures emerged from intensive learning demands, English-language challenges, cultural differences, self-imposed expectations, and concurrent academic obligations at students’ home universities. Empathetic lecturers, inclusive classroom norms, two-way communication, and opportunities for self-expression strengthened psychological safety and encouraged active participation. Students managed stress through cognitive reframing, time management, journaling, self-reflection, and peer support. In conclusion, psychological safety functioned as a stress buffer that enhanced resilience and engagement, while adaptive coping strategies reciprocally reinforced students’ sense of security within a cross-cultural academic learning environment.

Abstract

The relocation of Indonesia’s capital city from Jakarta to Nusantara, mandated by Capital City Law No. 3 of 2022, represents one of the most significant geopolitical decisions in the nation’s recent history. While the relocation is intended to redistribute economic burdens and reduce disparities between Java and other islands, it simultaneously creates a new set of geopolitical threats that must be anticipated within the framework of Indonesia’s National Resilience concept. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method through library research, drawing on secondary data from government publications, statistical agencies, and peer-reviewed literature to examine potential threats surrounding the new capital through the lens of Panca Gatra, the five dynamic aspects of National Resilience: ideology, politics, economy, socio-culture, and defense-security. The findings indicate that each gatra presents distinct yet interrelated risks. The ideological dimension faces exposure to foreign influences and deviant belief movements amplified by globalization; the political dimension is vulnerable to identity politics amid the region’s ethnic and religious heterogeneity; the economic dimension confronts budget overruns and inflationary pressures without guaranteed GDP growth; the socio-cultural dimension risks increasing poverty rates and the erosion of local cultural values due to the influx of migrant populations; and the defense-security dimension is shaped by the capital’s geographic proximity to the ALKI II international shipping lane and the Indonesia-Malaysia border. These findings suggest that the five gatra are mutually reinforcing rather than isolated, and that the success of the Nusantara capital project depends on the government’s capacity to manage these threats in an integrated manner, thereby strengthening the synergy between the natural Tri Gatra and the dynamic Panca Gatra to establish a resilient Asta Gatra model of national life.

Abstract

Tourism recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic has created new challenges for destinations in transforming increased tourist arrivals into sustainable loyalty behaviors. Manado City, as one of the main tourism gateways in Eastern Indonesia, has experienced significant growth in tourist visits; however, maintaining tourist satisfaction, revisit intention, and intention to recommend remains an important challenge. This study aimed to examine the influence of the 10A tourism components on tourist satisfaction and their effects on revisit intention and intention to recommend in Manado City. This research employed an explanatory quantitative approach using a survey method involving 200 tourists who had visited Manado City. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that the 10A tourism components had positive and significant effects on tourist satisfaction, revisit intention, and intention to recommend. Furthermore, tourist satisfaction significantly influenced both revisit intention and intention to recommend and partially mediated the relationship between the 10A tourism components and tourist loyalty dimensions. The findings reveal that satisfaction had a stronger influence on revisit intention than on intention to recommend, indicating differences between personal behavioral commitment and social advocacy behavior among tourists. This study concludes that integrated management of tourism components, combined with improvements in tourist satisfaction, is essential for strengthening destination loyalty and supporting sustainable tourism development in Manado City.

Abstract

Inmates often experience social stigma, rejection, guilt, and uncertainty about their future, which may affect their spiritual condition and sense of hope. Therefore, spiritual assistance is needed to support their rehabilitation process and reintegration into society. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Lectio Divina as a pastoral approach to enhancing the spirituality and hope of inmates at the Abepura Class IIA Correctional Facility, Papua. This research employed a qualitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants were 30 Catholic inmates selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring spirituality and hope indicators before and after participating in the Lectio Divina program. The intervention was conducted through four stages: lectio (Scripture reading), meditatio (meditation), oratio (prayer), and contemplatio (contemplation). Data analysis involved descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing using statistical procedures. The findings showed that Lectio Divina contributed to improving inmates’ spirituality and hope. The partial test results indicated a significant relationship between Lectio Divina and spirituality (t = 2.223; p = 0.024) as well as hope (t = 1.321; p = 0.022). These results indicate that Lectio Divina is not only a spiritual practice but also a transformative process that helps inmates find meaning, experience forgiveness, and develop confidence for a better future. This study concludes that Lectio Divina can be developed as an effective pastoral intervention to support spiritual recovery, personal transformation, and the social reintegration of inmates.

Abstract

Knowledge acquisition (KA) and knowledge transfer (KT) are two central processes in knowledge management that directly shape an organization’s capacity to innovate and sustain performance. Despite growing research interest, the existing literature remains fragmented across various contexts and rarely integrates practices, influencing factors, and the role of information technology into a single synthesis. This paper presents a systematic literature review following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and the PICOC framework to synthesize 22 studies published between 2021 and 2026 retrieved from five electronic databases: Scopus, ScienceDirect, ACM Digital Library, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar. The synthesis is organized around three research questions addressing practices, influencing factors, and the role of information technology. The review finds that KA and KT in digital media companies are conducted through a combination of formal, informal, and technology-supported mechanisms; their effectiveness is influenced by organizational, relational, and individual factors; and information technology fulfills four key roles: knowledge storage and retrieval, communication and collaboration, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based systems. The findings indicate that effective KA and KT in this context result from the alignment of mechanisms, organizational conditions, and technological capabilities rather than from any single dimension. This review contributes a structured framework of practices, influencing factors, and information technology roles that supports future research and practical decision-making in digital media organizations.

Abstract

This study aimed to apply a research-based halal lifestyle approach to strengthen the bioentrepreneurship competencies of students at UIN Sunan Kudus through the development of a learning module integrated with the Sistem Jaminan Produk Halal (SJPH) module for halal product development. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall development model, which consists of research and information gathering, planning, product development, preliminary testing, product revision, main field testing, operational revision, operational field testing, final revision, and dissemination. The development process began with an analysis of students’ needs related to halal lifestyle knowledge, followed by the design of a Canva-assisted module adapted from the SJPH module. The module was then validated by material experts and a validation team before undergoing field testing. The preliminary field trial involved 19 fifth-semester students from Class A, while the broader field trial involved 68 fourth-semester Biology Education students enrolled in a bioentrepreneurship course. The findings showed that the research-based halal lifestyle module was positively received by students and was considered highly feasible for use in bioentrepreneurship learning. In the extended trial involving 68 students, the student response score reached 87%, which was categorized as highly feasible based on the 86–100% feasibility range. These results indicated that the developed module could support the integration of halal lifestyle principles, research activities, and bioentrepreneurship learning in a sustainable manner. Further research is recommended to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of the module in improving bioentrepreneurship knowledge, skills, and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Muna Regency holds considerable potential in the cultural and creative economy sectors; however, this potential is not yet supported by adequate infrastructure. The design of the Muna Creative Center represents a strategic step toward providing a dedicated facility for creative communities and innovative young people. The application of contemporary architecture combined with local cultural elements can enhance the building’s attractiveness and functionality through flexible spatial configurations. The design process was conducted through literature studies, field observations, user-needs analysis, and evaluations of contemporary architectural principles. The design visualization incorporates local elements, including woven textile motifs, traditional kite geometry, and prehistoric pictographs from Liang Kabori Cave, which are applied harmoniously to the secondary skin to strengthen the building’s contemporary architectural expression. The Muna Creative Center is intended not only as a venue for creative activities but also as a new landmark that represents architectural development while maintaining respect for the vernacular identity of Muna Regency.
