Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role as a foundation for regional economic development and the improvement of community welfare. In South Konawe Regency, this sector continues to grow by utilizing local natural resources and cultural heritage, as reflected in various business activities, including fisheries, agriculture, traditional handicrafts, and regional specialty food and beverage products. Despite its significant potential, MSME actors remain dispersed and have not yet been integrated into a centralized facility, resulting in suboptimal management of business activities, marketing strategies, and enterprise development. The MSME center is planned to be developed in Batauga Subdistrict on a site area of approximately 2.6 hectares. The location is designated as part of a trade and service zone based on the Regional Spatial Plan (Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah / RTRW) of Southeast Sulawesi Province. The design process employed a descriptive qualitative research approach by applying tropical architectural principles adapted to local climatic conditions, which are characterized by high temperatures, humidity, and rainfall. The design concept emphasizes natural ventilation through cross-ventilation strategies, optimal utilization of natural lighting, the use of locally available building materials, and an open spatial layout supported by extensive green areas.

Abstract

This article aimed to reconstruct the interpretation of Surah Al-Jin by applying a Maq??id? (objectives-based) exegetical approach to enhance human awareness of positive behavior. Previous scholarship on Surah Al-Jin within Qur’anic exegesis has largely been dominated by rigid eschatological and metaphysical interpretations that tend toward textualism, potentially limiting the exploration of the surah’s moral and transformative messages for practical human life. Through qualitative descriptive library research, this study integrated Abdul Mustaqim’s contemporary Maq??id? exegetical methodology with Jasser Auda’s systems theory perspective. The findings showed that Surah Al-Jin was not merely a mystical or cosmological narrative but also functioned as a framework for human ethical and moral transformation through the preservation of religion (hif? al-d?n) and the preservation of intellect (hif? al-?aql). Three main pillars of positive character formation were identified in this surah: (1) spiritual transformation through al-inqiy?d li al-?aqq (submission to the truth); (2) purification of taw??d from cognitive distortions and superstition; and (3) strengthening of internal self-control based on mur?qabah awareness. This reconstruction demonstrated that the metaphysical dimension of the Qur’an had a close and systemic relationship with the development of awareness and ethical behavior among modern human beings. The findings suggested that Maq??id? exegesis provided a practical framework for character education and moral development by transforming Qur’anic narratives from theoretical theological concepts into applicable ethical guidance for contemporary society.

Abstract

This article aims to formulate a conceptual model for reconstructing Islamic boarding school organizational culture based on sh?r? by synthesizing kiai authority, Islamic educational management values, and modern organizational culture theory. The study is motivated by the need for Islamic boarding schools to respond to contemporary demands for professional governance, accountability, technological adaptation, and human resource participation while maintaining their spiritual and cultural legitimacy. This article employs a conceptual paper design using an integrative literature review approach. The reviewed literature includes classical and contemporary works on Islamic boarding schools, organizational culture, kiai leadership, Islamic educational management, and relevant legal documents. The analysis was conducted through four stages: identifying key concepts, grouping themes, comparing theoretical perspectives, and constructing a conceptual model. The synthesis indicates that the hierarchical culture of Islamic boarding schools should not be understood merely as an obstacle to modernization but rather as a mechanism for preserving values, authority, and institutional continuity. However, this culture needs to be complemented by inclusive collaboration through deliberative communication, managerial delegation, documented decision-making, and adaptive institutional practices. This article contributes to Islamic educational management by offering a sh?r?-based conceptual framework that bridges traditional kiai authority and participatory governance. The proposed model is expected to enrich theoretical discourse and provide a normative foundation for the transformation of Islamic boarding schools within a changing educational landscape.

Abstract

Discharge of palm oil mill wastewater into water bodies requires an integrated evaluation of wastewater characteristics, treatment capacity, hydrological conditions, baseline water quality, and pollutant distribution patterns. This study aimed to evaluate the pollutant load capacity and wastewater distribution patterns of PT Kasmar Matano Persada in the Kappuna River based on the 2026 technical study document. A descriptive-evaluative approach was applied using secondary data analysis, including palm oil mill effluent (POME) and domestic wastewater characteristics, discharge rates, river and groundwater quality, seasonal river flow, mass balance calculations, QUAL2Kw modeling, wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) design, and monitoring plans. Compliance was evaluated by comparing parameter values with applicable water quality standards. POME discharge was estimated at 336 m³/day, while domestic wastewater discharge was 4.2 m³/day. The Kappuna River discharge averaged 4.90 m³/s during the dry season and 8.20 m³/s during the rainy season. Initial water quality measurements indicated BOD of 2.9 mg/L, COD of 22 mg/L, TSS of 38 mg/L, and ammonia of 0.28 mg/L, with ammonia exceeding the reference value of 0.20 mg/L. Dry-season mass balance results showed BOD of 3.0 mg/L, COD of 24.18 mg/L, TSS of 43.98 mg/L, and oil and grease of 0.5 mg/L. QUAL2Kw modeling demonstrated decreasing pollutant concentrations downstream, with a direct influence zone extending 50–80 m from the discharge point. The POME WWTP consisted of nine treatment ponds with an effective volume of 31,468 m³ and a hydraulic retention time of 93.72 days. The Kappuna River retained sufficient dilution capacity; however, several parameters showed limited compliance margins. Continuous monitoring, laboratory verification, and periodic upstream–downstream evaluations are recommended to ensure sustained environmental quality.

Abstract

The emergence of digital platforms has transformed trade ecosystems by reshaping interactions among businesses, consumers, regulatory institutions, and technological infrastructures. However, the expansion of digital marketplaces has also created tensions with conventional trading systems and requires an understanding of relationships among diverse actors involved. This study aimed to analyze the dynamics of the Tokopedia digital platform using the Actor-Network Theory (ANT) approach by identifying the roles, interactions, and negotiation processes among human and non-human actors within the digital market ecosystem. A qualitative approach was employed using ANT as the analytical framework. Data were analyzed by examining network formation, translation processes, actor relationships, and the establishment of Tokopedia as an Obligatory Passage Point (OPP) within Indonesia’s digital commerce ecosystem. The findings indicated that the Tokopedia ecosystem consisted of interconnected actors, including algorithms, government regulations, logistics infrastructure, consumers, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The stability of this network depended on continuous negotiations among actors to manage resistance, including challenges from conventional traders and changes in consumer behavior. The translation process demonstrated Tokopedia’s efforts to strengthen its position as an OPP by integrating various interests within the digital marketplace. The success of digital platforms is not solely determined by technological innovation but also by their ability to establish and maintain balanced relationships among diverse and adaptive actors.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the importance of maintaining nurse loyalty in inpatient wards to ensure consistent healthcare service quality, particularly through effective leadership, work motivation, and a reward system perceived as fair. This study aimed to analyze the effects of transformational leadership style and motivation on nurse loyalty, with the reward system serving as an intervening variable. The study employed an inferential quantitative approach by collecting data through questionnaires distributed to nurses in inpatient wards, which were then analyzed using structural equation modeling based on partial least squares (PLS-SEM). The results showed that transformational leadership style and motivation had positive effects on nurse loyalty. The reward system also had a positive effect on nurse loyalty and was found to mediate the relationship between transformational leadership style, motivation, and nurse loyalty. The managerial implications emphasize the need to strengthen inspiring and supportive leadership practices, develop collaborative work environments to enhance motivation, and implement comprehensive and transparent reward systems, including non-financial rewards, performance recognition, and career development opportunities, as strategies to increase nurse loyalty.

Abstract

Cesarean section (CS) remains an essential procedure for specific delivery indications; however, delayed postoperative mobilization can prolong length of stay (LOS) and increase hospital costs. Under Indonesia’s JKN/INA-CBG reimbursement system, hospitals bear any difference between actual costs and fixed reimbursement tariffs, making cost-efficient clinical pathways a managerial priority. This study analyzed the effectiveness of the Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean Surgery (ERACS) method compared with the conventional method in relation to patient care cost components at Level IV Hospital 03.07.04 Guntur, Garut Regency. A quantitative descriptive-comparative design with a cost-effectiveness analysis approach was employed. Secondary data were obtained from medical records and the hospital billing system of 45 CS patients (ERACS = 19; non-ERACS = 26) treated from May to June 2025. Data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test, multiple linear regression, Cost-Consequence Analysis (CCA), Average Cost-Effectiveness Ratio (ACER), and Incremental Cost-Effectiveness Ratio (ICER). ERACS resulted in a significantly shorter LOS (2.42 vs. 3.35 days), lower postoperative pain intensity (78.9% vs. 19.2% classified as mild pain), higher clinical pathway effectiveness (78.9% vs. 69.2%), and lower actual cost per patient (Rp9,470,982.47 vs. Rp12,300,211.62; p = 0.001). The negative ICER (?Rp29,117,483.25) indicated that ERACS was the dominant intervention. Regression analysis showed that room and medication costs were the main cost drivers. ERACS was more effective and cost-efficient than the conventional method, reducing hospital financial deficits without compromising clinical outcomes. Its adoption as a standard elective CS protocol is recommended.
