Abstract

The agricultural industry is critical to human life, yet it is not comparable to small farmer’s income in Indonesia. The number of farmer households is decreasing, and the average age of farmers is increasing. The agricultural industry is no longer appealing to the younger generation due to a variety of issues experienced by Indonesian farmers. The majority of Indonesian farmers are small-scale, with little land and production. Farmers also face obstacles such as not having sufficient skills in agricultural business which results in low productivity and no added value to their production. This condition also causes them to have to deal with volatile prices from middlemen which are often not profitable for farmers. The Collective Marketing initiative was created to help agricultural enterprises become more lucrative by increasing the size of farmers' economies of scale, allowing them to enter a secure market with enough bargaining power. This study examines the economic and social impacts of Collective Marketing initiatives in Kopwan Srikandi, as well as in Koperasi Tani Kopi Prima Jaya and KTH Cibulao Hijau. This study also discusses the impact of the Collective Marketing initiative on sustainable development.

Abstract

In 2022, the Cirebon District faced a persistent issue of high stunting rates, affecting 15,299 cases or approximately 9.4% of its population. This study focuses on Sampiran Village, Talun Subdistrict, within the Cirebon District, aiming to investigate the correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting in toddlers. Employing a cross-sectional study design with purposive sampling, data collection included questionnaires and anthropometric measurements provided by parents of the participating toddlers. Results revealed that 63.2% of toddlers did not receive exclusive breastfeeding, and 21% of them experienced stunting. Statistical analysis demonstrated a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting occurrence (p < 0.05), with an Odds Ratio of 1.133. This suggests that exclusive breastfeeding can reduce the risk of stunting by 1.133 times, emphasizing its crucial role in stunting prevention among toddlers. These findings underscore the urgency of promoting and educating parents and caregivers about the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding. Encouraging exclusive breastfeeding practices can potentially mitigate the prevalence of stunting in this vulnerable age group within the Cirebon District, ultimately contributing to better child health and well-being.

Abstract

Foreign exchange transaction remains the most liquid trade in the world (Settlements, 2019). This paper examined the exchange rate of the US Dollar against Indonesian Rupiah at which volatility recorded the highest average of 1.98% and the lowest of 1.98% between 2009 and 2018. It shows that the existence of uncertainty or risk for economic actors. According to economists, the thing to protect the value of assets is by using available derivative products, The Option. The first model used for forecasting and determining the Option values is the Black-Scholes Model that uses historical volatility and some GARCH model to determine volatility. In this study, the object of the exchange rate of the US Dollar with Rupiah was comparing to two models using the average mean square error, and see how small the error results obtained. The results of the comparison of those two models found that during a month, the Black Scholes model had smaller errors for call and put values with a percentage of profits using a short strangle strategy was 83.75%. In contrast, over 2 months, the GARCH model showed better for call and put values with a profit percentage was 71.62%. Finally, the Black-Scholes model got a way better for call and put supplies with a percentage of the profit of 72.04% within 3 months.

Abstract

PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom), as a state-owned company, has a dual mission, namely as a business company that must be managed professionally, as well as being mandated by the Indonesian government to accelerate the development of information technology, telecommunications, and digital infrastructure to improve the Indonesian economy. Until early 2018, Telkom with Indihome fixed broadband products had reached 3 million customers and a market share of 57.69%. However, that is only 4.50% of the 2019 IBP household penetration target. Telkom is required to increase productivity, especially the number of customers and revenue, while the allocation of available resources is limited and varies in each region. Another condition is the significant reduction in staff due to massive retirements and differences in employee productivity levels in each division. This research aims to determine and compare the efficiency level of 7 Telkom Regional Divisions for the 2016-2018 period using the DEA Data Envelopment Analysis method, with data collection based on the census. The analysis process goes through two stages, namely using the DEA Data Envelopment Analysis method, Constant Return to Scale (CRS/CCR), output-oriented. The next step is to measure the strength of the relationship between each input/output variable on efficiency using Pearson's correlation. The results of the study concluded that Divisions E and B have the highest efficiency values. On the other hand, Division G is the lowest. The variables that have the strongest correlation with the level of efficiency are the number of employees (input), the number of customers (output), and business income (output).

Abstract

During 2014 - 2018, cable companies in Indonesia showed an 8.52% average annual revenue growth. Unfortunately, analysts are responding to this growth negatively. Hence, In this study, we will conduct a valuation of six cable companies in Indonesia that are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). We evaluate using two methods, namely Free Cash Flow to Firm (FCFF) to get the Intrinsic Value of shares, Relative Valuation using Price to Book Value ( PBV), and Price to Earnings Ratio (PER) to validate the intrinsic value. The valuation results consider three scenarios: optimistic, moderate, and pessimistic. In the optimistic scenario, the Intrinsic Value of JECC, KBLI, and VOKS shares are overvalued in all scenarios, while IKBI, KBLM, and SCCO are undervalued throughout the scenario. Validation using PBV for the optimistic scenario, all companies are considered overvalued. For the moderate scenario, the PBV of IKBI, KBLI, and VOKS are overvalued, while JECC, KBLM, and SCCO are undervalued. As for the pessimistic scenario, only the PBV of IKBI is overvalued. Validation using PER for the optimistic scenario, the PER of IKBI, JECC, KBLM, and SCCO are overvalued, while the PER of KBLI and VOKS are undervalued. For the moderate scenarios, the PER of IKBI and SCCO are overvalued, while the PER of JECC, KBLI, KBLM, and VOKS are undervalued. Whereas for the pessimistic scenario, only the PER of IKBI is overvalued, while JECC, KBLI, KBLM, SCCO, and VOKS are undervalued.

Abstract

Reaching the age of adolescence, children need sufficient nutrients to grow rightly. Nevertheless, dietary habit in children has been extensively found to be ill-considered as many of them have not been able to distinguish nutritional ingredients in food. Mastering nutrition and growing a habit of healthy eating is imperative regarding their better future. This research aimed to examine whether a particular learning method (active vs. passive) would lead to wiser food choices, better self-efficacy, and higher self-esteem. The study case took the secondary students in LabSchool, Jakarta in 2018. Experimental research with a factorial design is employed in the research design. The experiment involved 227 samples of Generation Z. One group was assigned to a hands-on cooking class model (active learning) while the other half as the control group was assigned to a cooking demonstration (passive learning) class model. The result of this research implied that students who are exposed to hands-on cooking classes (active learning) show a healthier shift in their wiseness towards preferring healthy food. The limitation of the study was time and resources. It is suggested in that the future the researcher may extend the experiment’s duration and give more variations of samples to comprehend larger knowledge.

Abstract

82.3% of the population of Sabu Raijua Regency work as farmers with a high level of need for water but the geographical conditions of Sabu Island are not able to support this activity because the majority consists of dry land with a percentage of 97.51% and the number of rainy days is only approximately 100 days per year so that The Sabu Raijua Regency Government has built hundreds of reservoirs to meet agricultural activities, but the weak sustainability of the reservoir construction projects in Sabu Raijua Regency is a problem in itself. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach with a total number of 76 people who were determined purposively then the primary and secondary data collected were analyzed using data analysis techniques from Creswell (2016). Water governance in the construction of reservoirs for water supply resilience for agriculture in Sabu Raijua Regency, NTT Province uses theory from Van der Kerk, et al (2013: 8) with research results in aspects (1) content layer which is hampered by the uneven flow of information, the absence of training to improve the knowledge and skills of reservoir water users as well as poor strategies/policies, whereas in aspect (2) the institutional layer from the organizational side there was no clear division of roles and responsibilities between institutions, the private sector and the community relating to the use of reservoir water and instruments that were not adequate and in aspect (3) the relational layer on the cooperation side was found not to involve existing policy stakeholders in making decisions about the water management process. The inhibiting factors for water governance in the construction of reservoirs for the resilience of water supply for agriculture in Sabu Raijua Regency, NTT Province consist of a minimal budget, lack of effective institutional governance and climate and geographical conditions.
