Abstract

This study was conducted at PT Bio Farma (Persero). This Indonesian state-owned company focuses on the research and production of life-science products. During the last three years of implementing the Performance Management System, employee performance has decreased from 2019 – 2021. This study explores the decline in employee performance and the factors that cause it. The research was conducted using quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. The quantitative approach was performed through a survey involving 125 Bio Farma employees as respondents. The survey questions cover 5 (five) elements that can contribute to employee performance: shared values, leadership style, organizational culture, perceptions of organizational practices, and employee motivation. In comparison, the qualitative method was performed through interviews, observation, and internal documentation. To help find root causes and gaps, current practice conditions in the company are also discussed in this study. This study found that employee motivation is the main factor contributing to decreased performance, especially regarding career opportunities and the remuneration system. These business issues lead to proposed solutions to improve the career opportunity system at Bio Farma. Talent management is used in determining the future career of employees. This study suggests the application of competency-based assessment to obtain employee competency data that will be included in employee talent data. The proposed solution will be based on an implementation plan through the implementation of four main activities: identifying employee competencies, defining employee competencies, implementing competency-based assessments, and creating employee talent data which includes performance, potential and competency data.

Abstract

The growth of urbanization, as a result, has led to a higher number of motor vehicles, due to which there has been a considerable increase in traffic volumes in recent years. The existing road capacity and service levels do not fully meet the current needs of commuter traffic and transport. Along with providing fixed route services, transit systems integrated with these services have become a necessity for the community. The research design includes selecting a case study area, Lahore. The means of systemization that have been adopted to achieve the objectives of the research carried out include topic selection, comprehensive literature review in the context of local and international scenarios, data collection covering primary and secondary, data analysis using Excel and SPSS software, interpretation of data and placement of appropriate proposals. The main result of this study is that by improving public transport safety and public transport management, people's preference for using public transport will increase. Also, public transport's cleanliness and service level will increase; hence, the preference for using public transport will increase. The research's recommended solution for the city of Lahore has been designed locally to meet the majority problem, as the solution must be low-cost, environmentally sustainable, and responsive to the social demands of the local community.

This research uses quantitative. Research methods to determine the Validity and reliability of each statement used in the questionnaire, this study tested the factor analysis method. To determine the level of significance and interrelationships between each variable used, the structural equation model (SEM) analysis method was used. Data was collected using an online questionnaire survey method via Google Forms. Except for the Competitive Intensity variable. ISC has a positive and significant effect on SO, and SO can significantly affect SP. Individual Sales Capability and Customer-Oriented Selling Behavior have a significant influence but have a negative direction. CO has a significant influence but has a negative direction on SP. The public administration reforms of the late 1970s brought about revolutionary changes in the delivery of social services and the accounting for government spending and government organizations. Abstract

The realization of capital expenditure of regencies/cities in North Sumatra Province during the 2019-2020 period decreased by more than 25%. Similarly, the realization of local indigenous income (PAD) in the province decreased in 2019-2020 by 4.75%. This decrease is thought to be caused by poor budget planning at the beginning of the budgeting year. This study aims to determine the effect of local income and general allocation funds on capital expenditure moderated by budget surplus in districts/cities in north Sumatra province in 2016-2020. This study uses descriptive quantitative method. The population of this study is all regencies/cities in North Sumatra Province which amounts to 33 regencies/cities. This study used multiple linear regression techniques to determine the influence between research variables. The results showed that local original income had a positive effect on capital expenditure, the general allocation fund had a positive effect on capital expenditure, the budget surplus moderated the effect of local original income on capital expenditure, and the surplus budget moderated the effect of the general allocation fund on district/city capital expenditure in North Sumatra Province 2016-2020. The increase in PAD and DAU will have a positive impact on Capital Expenditure of Regencies/Cities in North Sumatra Province. The increase in PAD and DAU will provide sufficient budget for local governments to finance the necessary development projects. This can have a positive impact, including the availability of sufficient budgets, improving community welfare, increasing economic growth, and increasing regional competitiveness.

A work system that is not conducive can influence employee loyalty and dedication to increase awareness at work, motivation, sense of responsibility, and quality in completing each work carried out within a predetermined time limit. Working professionally and loyally is a characteristic of employees who take their work seriously. High seriousness values for employees with maximum work performance can reduce the low self-efficacy of employees. Increasing self-efficacy and empowering employees can improve civic behaviour in organizations. Self-efficacy and employee empowerment help increase employees' self-confidence and abilities in carrying out their duties so that they can more effectively and efficiently contribute to the organization.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by clinical hyperglycemia due to defects in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. This study was to determine the correlation between serum fasting Glucagon Like Peptide-1 (fGLP-1) levels and serum 1 hour post prandial Glucagon Like Peptide-1 (1hGLP-1) levels with IMT of carotid artery in patients with Type 2 DM. This study used a correlative analytic with a cross-sectional approach in population of Type 2 DM patients who were treated at the Interna Polyclinic at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang the IMT of carotid artery was measured with a high-resolution carotid doppler ultrasound B-mode ultrasound machine. The GLP-1 level was measured by the ELISA method. There were 40 subjects with a median age of 52 (40-59) years. A strong negative correlation was found between fGLP-1 serum levels and IMT of carotid artery with r= -0.748; p = 0.000; n=40. This study also found a strong negative correlation between serum levels of 1hGLP-1 and carotid IMT with r = -0.600; p = 0.000; n=40. There is a strong correlation between serum fGLP-1 levels and serum 1hGLP-1 levels with IMT of carotid artery in Type 2 DM patients. Measurement of serum levels of fGLP-1 and 1hGLP-1 may be an important indicator in evaluating cardiovascular risk in Type 2 DM patients. It may also provide guidance in the development of therapies for Type 2 DM patients to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
