Abstract

Introduction: In 2022, the market capitalization of some publicly traded technology companies is declining. This period is commonly referred to as "winter" because it is more challenging for startups to get funding from investors. The study seeks to understand the impact of winter 2022 on the valuation and strategy of privately funded startups, focusing on five variables: sector, funding stage, relative market position, profitability, and founder's contribution/strength. Method: Quantitative analysis relies on survey responses from 180 startup founders in Indonesia who specialize in six industries: retail/e-commerce, fintech, agriculture/fisheries, healthcare, logistics, and education. Path Analysis is then applied to the data to determine the relationships between variables. Result: This research shows that profitability and founders' contributions/strengths impact startup valuation. Furthermore, relative market position and profitability have an impact on startup strategy. Finally, a decrease in valuation multiples for startups affects their strategy. Conclusion: This research can guide startup founders as they grow their businesses, especially in relation to the five variables listed above. Future research may be conducted on other variables, sectors, countries, or similar topics later/period.

Abstract

Introduction: This study aims to assess the vulnerability of multidimensional pandemics/public health (physical, social, economic & attitudinal) from rural and urban togetherness after COVID-19 and to suggest appropriate coping strategies/mechanisms for effective pandemic risk reduction. Method: This study is qualitative and discusses the Post COVID-19 assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of urban and rural areas in different countries to understand the way out for Pakistan.  Result: Planners can make use of the chances that the pandemic has presented. It should be emphasized once more that this crisis shows how critical analyses of the significance of cities and their governance are necessary. Now that they are aware of the significant implications of the pandemic on cities, it is believed that planners and local authorities will be more successful in mobilizing support for transformative initiatives toward dealing with other significant concerns, such as climate change, that are hanging over citie. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruptions in daily life across cities worldwide. Researchers have studied its impact on urban sectors to better anticipate and respond to future crises. While effects and response strategies vary across different locations, lessons learned can inform better preparedness for future crises. The pandemic is expected to bring profound changes in how cities are run and governed, presenting opportunities for transformative initiatives towards a more environmentally friendly future. Critical analyses of cities and their governance are necessary to address significant concerns such as climate change.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of musharakah, mudharabah, and murabahah financing on the financial performance of Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative research. This research uses secondary data in the form of annual financial reports of Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the period 2010-2019 sourced from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) website. Through purposive sampling technique, 11 bank samples were obtained which produced 96 observational data. The results of the analysis show that musharakah financing does not affect the financial performance (ROA) of Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia, while mudharabah and murabahah financing has a positive and significant effect on the financial performance (ROA) of Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia. it is concluded that the greater the value of musharakah financing distributed is not a guarantee that financial performance (ROA) will increase. This is because musharakah financing is financing with a profit-sharing system that has a very high risk where if the company experiences losses, the bank will also bear the loss of business run by entrepreneurs. Nevertheless, Islamic banking is expected to maintain and increase the amount of profit-sharing based financing such as musharakah.

Abstract

This study aims to design and propose using overtime budgets in companies. This type of research is descriptive exploratory, and the research object is data related to employee overtime in July-December 2021. The financing method used is time-driven activity-based costing (TDABC). This study suggests that companies follow up on departments with over-capacity status to evaluate employee activities during overtime so that it does not affect company performance. The application of the activity-based budgeting method can increase the effectiveness of employee overtime costs because it can prove that there are savings in overtime costs and can increase profits. So that the ABB method can control the overtime budget more efficiently and better. The ABB method can control employee overtime budgets more efficiently. The ABB method can be proposed to companies to control their employees' overtime costs. Abstract

Food insecurity is a global issue and its alleviation is stipulated in the 2030 SDGs target 2.1, namely zero hunger and achieving food security for all people. Food insecurity can affect health physically, mentally, socially, and quality of life directly or indirectly due to malnutrition. This study aims to identify the relationship between the level of food insecurity and the health of children under five using an order logit regression model from the March 2021 Susenas data. This study used March 2021 Susenas data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The data used in this study is cross-sectional data at the individual level. The results show that food insecurity, according to the level of severity, is statistically significant and positively related to children's health complaints. Immunization as an important control variable is also statistically significant and positively related to toddler health complaints. Based on the food insecurity level, the order logit regression analysis results prove that food insecurity is significant and has a positive effect on health complaints. Food insecurity occurs not only in low-income household groups but also in high-income household groups.

Abstract

Increasing international demand is related to global dependency on Indonesian palm oil, forcing Indonesia to increase its palm oil production, resulting in environmental concern. A combination of quantitative and qualitative methods with the Copenhagen School approach is used. On average from 2010-2020, Indonesia exported palm oil to Asia (64.72%), the EU (16.29%), Africa (13.59%), America (5.30%), and Oceania (0.07%). According to the Copenhagen School perspective, there are potential environmental security threats to the international world. One aspect of the environment that is suffering is forested due to deforestation, related fires, damage to ecosystems, and species that are essential contributors to global climate change and loss of biodiversity, as well as poor local and regional air quality. Involvement in the human rights sector, terrorist activities, smuggling, and tax evasion are also evident. Indonesian palm oil production provides economic benefits through international trade and at the same time threatens global environmental security.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine and analyze the processing design of individual case safety reports in Indonesia's pharmacovigilance department of vaccine companies. This study combines qualitative and quantitative studies that propose implementing the new artificial intelligence system for the PV Department. The results obtained from this study are problem-solving solutions by increasing the number of staff, using artificial intelligence (AI) technology in AEFI case processing to avoid errors and manual input, and approaching external stakeholders to be able to report safety data efficiently and more structured. With the addition of human resources to process the AEFI reporting data by one person, performance value will be increased to 165%. If the process utilizes AI technology, case processing performance increases to 219%. disruption of the performance of the pharmacovigilance department in Indonesian biopharmaceutical companies can be caused by the pandemic disrupting the way KIPI cases are reported, so the solution is the addition of human resources, changes in processes and SOPs, as well as approaches to external stakeholders to streamline case processing.
