Abstract

The budget can be used as a guideline in carrying out its duties. Public sector organizations are required to consider value for money in making policies and carrying out their activities. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of the Balikpapan City regional budget for 2019-2022. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive analysis with data analysis using effectiveness and efficiency measurement methods. The results of this study show that the level of effectiveness and efficiency of budget implementation in Balikpapan City in 2019-2022 has fluctuated. The implementation of the Balikpapan City regional budget in 2019-2022 as a whole meets the criteria of being quite effective. The lowest percentage of efficiency in 2019 was 95.01%, which falls under the category of less efficient. The highest efficiency rate was in 2020, with a percentage of 86.96%, with the criteria of being quite efficient. This study implies that fluctuations in the level of effectiveness and efficiency of Balikpapan City's APBD implementation may indicate factors that change from year to year. It is necessary to conduct in-depth analysis to identify the causes of such fluctuations in order to take appropriate corrective measures. Although there are fluctuations, the overall implementation of the Balikpapan City APBD is considered quite effective. This could be an indication that there are certain aspects that are managed well, but it is still necessary to focus on elements that may cause fluctuations.

Abstract

This research aims to establish a fundamental policy framework and understand the community needs associated with the development of Tanjung Berlian Port in Borneo. The focus is on achieving cohesive development policies and ensuring sustainable, long-term impacts at the national level. The research methodology employed is a qualitative program research approach. The research focuses on the location of the site plan for a maritime event in the Lake River border area, extending to the Tanah Bumbu region for approximately 100 kilometers. The findings from the field research enable the continuation of international port development to support future National Connectivity Infrastructure (IKN) and become a strategic priority for enhancing the archipelago's geopolitical military defense and security. This research carries implications for crafting improved policies related to the development of Borneo's Tanjung Berlian Port to optimize its strategic potential in supporting National Connection Infrastructure, geographical, geopolitical, and state security interests. This research underscores the importance of developing Tanjung Berlian Port in Kalimantan as a key element in supporting the future National Capital of Connectivity (IKN). In the strategic context of the archipelago, this port is considered a vital asset capable of strengthening military defense and security, while also holding significant geopolitical importance for Indonesia. The research findings emphasize the need for better policy formulation to maximize the potential of this port. The proper and optimal development of Tanjung Berlian Port is expected to make a significant contribution to supporting national infrastructure and bolstering the overall geographical, geopolitical, and state security positions.

Abstract

This research aims to determine and analyze Executive Compensation, Ownership and Financial Performance of Manufacturing Companies in Indonesia. The method used in this research is quantitative. The population of this research is all companies operating in the manufacturing sector registered on the BEI in 2019 - 2022. The sample in this study was selected using a purposive sampling method. The research results show that executive compensation significantly impacts manufacturing company performance through ROA but is less significant about ROE. Nonetheless, well-compensated executives are motivated to increase profits, potentially reducing agency costs. However, factors such as initial solid performance and external events such as COVID-19 may influence the impact of executive compensation on performance. In addition, institutional ownership does not significantly influence company performance because institutional investors tend to prioritize their portfolios and remain passive towards managerial activities, thereby rejecting the hypothesis that supports a significant positive effect of institutional ownership on performance.

Abstract

Research aims to investigate the factors influencing the intention to purchase green cosmetics in Indonesia. The applied research method is quantitative and causal, utilizing a non-probability sampling technique with 300 respondents. Structural Equation Model (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) is employed as the data analysis tool. The study's findings indicate that the perception of behavioral control, epistemic value, and emotional value does not significantly influence the intention to purchase environmentally friendly cosmetic products in Indonesia. On the other hand, health awareness and environmental knowledge play a crucial role in shaping environmental attitudes. Subjective norms, environmental attitudes, functional price value, social value, and conditional value significantly impact the intention to purchase environmentally friendly cosmetic products. The implications of these findings offer insights to the cosmetics industry to align their marketing strategies with values that are more socially and environmentally oriented, aiming to enhance consumer intention to purchase green cosmetics in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the food safety knowledge among buyers and sellers in the city market, particularly in the post-pandemic context. The study focuses on understanding the extent to which individuals adhere to food safety and hygiene measures. The method used in this research is quantitative and conducted in the Mohammadpur city market, involving 101 buyers and 101 sellers selected for interviews. The research employed a structured questionnaire to gather information on participants' age, gender, level of education, and training on food safety. The results of the study indicate that a total of 202 participants, with an average age of 38.16 years, were involved. Gender distribution shows that the majority of buyers (72%) and sellers (87%) were male. The analysis demonstrates a significant relationship (p<0.001) between the level of education, training on food safety, and overall knowledge of food safety among buyers. This research implies the need for enhanced monitoring and regulation of activities conducted by food vendors to reduce potential risks and the transmission of foodborne illnesses. The implementation of regulations, promotion of hygienic practices, and food safety control measures are crucial steps to achieve this objective. Local authorities, with smooth execution of their duties, play a vital role in ensuring the effectiveness of these measures.

Abstract

Smart transportation is an important trend worldwide, reducing accidents, traffic jams, and pollution. It uses technology and communication to parse errors and monitor everything online. This research aims to determine how to implement a smart transportation system to provide convenience for users and the city. Smart transportation systems are designed to reduce accidents, pollution, and other problems. However, many cities still need to implement them and require government approval. This research aims to implement the system in every city to ensure citizens can use it more. This research uses a qualitative and bibliometric analysis approach to analyze bibliographic research data in journals from 2012 to 2022. The cluster obtained from software shows that smart transportation uses the most electricity from ordinary transportation and requires a ready implementation system. Other topics related to implementing an intelligent transportation system, such as benefits and how to implement it, are obtained. The conclusion is that smart transportation must be implemented to reduce risks and make urban citizens feel more secure and comfortable using it.
