Abstract

Parental parenting plays a crucial role in shaping early childhood development, including cognitive, social, and emotional aspects. However, the level of public understanding of effective parenting in Indonesia remains relatively low, potentially hindering optimal child development. This study highlights various parenting styles, including democratic, permissive, and authoritarian parenting, as well as the impact of inappropriate parenting on children's development. Findings indicate that unsupportive parenting styles, such as authoritarian or permissive parenting, can lead to social difficulties, low independence, and disruptions in emotional and cognitive development. Therefore, educational efforts for parents are essential to help them adopt more effective parenting strategies that support optimal early childhood development.

Abstract

This study aims to explore digitalization strategies for traditional markets, particularly in optimizing the potential of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) at Talang Padang Market. The objective is to examine the implementation of digital marketing through social media as a promotional tool to enhance economic activity in the market. The methods employed include field observation, interviews with stakeholders, and the execution of an MSME bazaar involving market managers and MSME actors. Promotion efforts leveraged social media platforms to reach a broader audience and increase community engagement. The results indicate that social media effectively attracted more visitors and bazaar participants, leading to an increase in transactions and the sustainability of MSMEs. By the end of the program, 15 out of 36 MSMEs continued operating in Talang Padang Market, highlighting the long-term success of market digitalization strategies. Based on the evaluation, it is concluded that strengthening digital marketing and providing independent training for MSME actors are crucial to supporting the sustainability of traditional markets in the digital era. Therefore, collaboration among stakeholders is expected to continuously drive the development of the market and local MSMEs. Keywords: Traditional Market, Digital Marketing, Social Media, MSME’s.

Abstract

Bullying is violence committed by individuals or groups both physically and psychologically againstpeople who are unable to protect themselves. SMK Adi Husada is one of the high schools located in thecentre of the city of Malang and students are enrolled from various regions in the city of Malang andfrom different economic levels, causing considerable heterogeneity between students, and it is one of thefactors that cause bulliying at SMK Adi Husada. Community service at SMK Adi Husada aims to help theschool by providing knowledge to students about the impact of bullying through the provision ofeducational videos and counselling about bullying, with the hope of increasing students' knowledgerelated to the problem of bullying and providing explanations related to the impact of bullying that canoccur both on the perpetrator and the victim

Abstract

Tanjung Carat International Port development can potentially cause environmental and social impacts. Mitigation efforts are required by mapping the affected area’s physical and environmental indicators. The unavailability of detailed maps containing information on vulnerable areas causes difficulties in identifying the location of sensitive coastal ecosystems and strategic lands utilized by the surrounding community. Therefore, this program aims to provide a WebGIS-based vulnerability map to help the local government identify at-risk areas. The methods used included initial coordination, ground checking, GIS software data processing, and data integration through WebGIS. The output of this program was physical and environmental vulnerability maps that help policymakers to formulate mitigation decisions. This product also included a dashboard and explanatory documents to use the map practically. The existence of a vulnerability map helps improve the local government’s preparedness for the potential impacts of port development while encouraging more sustainable regional planning.

Abstract

The issue of food hygiene, sanitation, and chemical management in Palembang, based on previous research, shows low hygienic practices among food handlers in the Workers of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sector, such as non-compliance with handwashing and failure to use aprons and gloves. This is consistent with laboratory findings that identified Escherichia coli contamination in several food and beverage samples from SMEs, exceeding established food safety limits. This activity aims to socialize food sanitation, hygiene, and chemical management among workers of SMEs in Palembang City. The methods used are preparation of socialization activities, implementation of socialization activities, and evaluation of activities. Post-test results showed that there was an increase in knowledge related to food sanitation hygiene and chemical management among food SMEs workers, namely 12 participants (60%) had "very good" knowledge. By carrying out socialization activities on food sanitation hygiene and chemical management among Palembang City SMEs workers, it is hoped that it can increase the productivity and good image of Palembang City food SMEs workers.

Abstract

TBC is an infectious disease that spreads through droplets, and the incidence rate increases in adolescence due to high mobility. One of the preventions that can be done for the spread of TBC is to provide health education in the form of educational videos on TBC Care to students so that knowledge related to the prevention and transmission of TBC can be prevented. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of SMKN 12 students about TBC through the provision of Peduli TBC educational videos and the provision of leaflets and posters related to TBC. The method used is in the form of screening the Peduli TBC educational video. The results of the activity were an increase in knowledge of SMKN 12 students after being given educational videos

Abstract

Situ Udik Village faces household waste issues due to population growth and changing consumption patterns, leading to environmental pollution. The 2024 National Community Service Program by Indonesia Open University aims to address this problem by utilizing organic waste as compost to enhance agricultural productivity. The methods include expert-led socialization, compost-making training, and the application of simple technology using buckets as composters. The composting process involves burned rice husks, rice bran, and household organic waste, which are fermented for 21 days (about 3 weeks). The results indicate that the produced compost has a neutral pH and optimal fertility for use as a planting medium. This program not only reduces waste but also improves soil fertility and enhances community welfare through new economic opportunities. Moving forward, research will focus on analyzing the chemical composition of the planting medium and its impact on agricultural productivity. Keywords: Situ Udik Village, Compost, Household Waste

Abstract

Research and community service are part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education that must be carried out by a lecturer. In fact, the Government has provided funds for lecturers to carry out research and community service. However, low motivation, interest, and knowledge in writing are some of the reasons why lecturers do not write proposals. Therefore, the community service team conducted training on writing research and community service proposals for lecturers at the Syaikhona Kholil Islamic Economics and Business College, Pasuruan. The training was conducted using lecture and direct practice methods, and was divided into three sessions. The evaluation results showed that 100% of participants stated that the material presented was in accordance with the needs of the participants and the strategies used in the training were very effective. This activity had a positive impact on lecturers' motivation in writing proposals. In addition, knowledge and ability in using the Zotero reference manager also increased, making it easier for STEIBI Syaikhona Kholil lecturers to write references both in proposals and in scientific articles.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs in Situ Udik Village in designing a digital-based business framework using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach. Through training and mentoring, participants are guided to develop a business model that includes nine main elements, from customer segments to cost structures. The results of the activity showed that most participants succeeded in developing a more systematic business framework, recognizing business strengths and weaknesses, and formulating medium-term development strategies. In addition, participants began to integrate digital promotions through social media and design more effective distribution channels. Several MSMEs have also begun to utilize simple applications for financial recording. These findings indicate that BMC is effective as a tool for developing digital business models, encouraging MSMEs to be more adaptive and competitive in facing market changes and preparing sustainable business growth strategies.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan pengembangan aplikasi mobile menggunakan MIT App Inventor dan fitur dasar Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) kepada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sumberpucung. Dilaksanakan selama dua hari dengan 140 peserta, program ini menerapkan pendekatan Project-Based Learning (PjBL) untuk mendorong pembelajaran aktif dan kolaboratif melalui proyek nyata. Siswa mempelajari komponen seperti Speech Recognizer, Image Classifier, dan TextToSpeech, serta mengembangkan aplikasi Android yang terintegrasi dengan AI. Hasil pretest dan posttest menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman siswa tentang pengembangan aplikasi dan integrasi AI. Observasi kualitatif menunjukkan meningkatnya antusiasme, kreativitas, dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam menggunakan teknologi digital. Inisiatif ini menunjukkan bahwa pemrograman visual dan AI dapat diperkenalkan secara efektif di tingkat SMA, serta mendukung pengembangan keterampilan abad ke-21 seperti pemecahan masalah dan berpikir komputasional. Program ini disarankan untuk diintegrasikan ke dalam pembelajaran Informatika reguler.
