Abstract

This study examines the influence of organizational culture and compensation on job satisfaction and employee performance among administrative staff at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. Using a quantitative explanatory research design, data were collected from 93 employees through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that both organizational culture and compensation have positive and significant effects on job satisfaction. However, organizational culture does not directly affect employee performance; instead, its impact is fully mediated by job satisfaction. Conversely, compensation demonstrates both direct and indirect significant effects on performance. Job satisfaction itself shows a strong positive relationship with employee performance, underscoring its essential role in enhancing work outcomes. These results contribute to the theoretical understanding of human resource management by confirming the mediating role of job satisfaction and emphasizing compensation as a key driver of employee performance. Managerially, the study highlights the need for strengthening cultural values, improving compensation systems, and enhancing non-financial work conditions to foster satisfaction and performance. Despite its contributions, the study is limited by its cross-sectional design, single institutional setting, and reliance on self-reported data. Future research should explore broader institutional contexts and include additional organizational behavior variables to enrich the understanding of performance determinants.

Abstract

The digital transformation in university administrative governance, through the implementation of the E-Office system, requires administrative staff to possess adequate technical competencies and strong work motivation. However, in practice, not all employees can adapt optimally, which affects their job satisfaction and performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of motivation and competence on employee performance, with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable, at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. This research employed a quantitative approach, utilizing a survey method with 51 respondents, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results indicate that motivation and competence do not have a direct effect on employee performance. However, job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on performance. Moreover, motivation and competence have a positive influence on job satisfaction, which subsequently mediates the effect of motivation and competence on employee performance. These findings highlight that job satisfaction plays a crucial role in enhancing employee performance, suggesting that efforts to improve motivation and strengthen competence should focus on fostering higher job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational and democratic leadership styles on the quality of administrative services with technology utilization as a mediating variable at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The population of this study consists of all students of the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. To determine a representative sample size, the Slovin formula was applied, resulting in 384 respondents. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS software. The findings reveal that transformational leadership does not have a significant direct effect on the quality of administrative services, whereas democratic leadership has a positive and significant effect. Both transformational and democratic leadership styles significantly influence technology utilization, which in turn positively affects the quality of administrative services. Furthermore, technology utilization serves as a significant mediator in the relationship between both leadership styles and the quality of administrative services. Abstract

The Effect of Competence and Training on Employee Performance Through Job Satisfaction at UPT Asrama Haji Makassar, supervised by Yana Fajriah and Zulfikri Sukarno. This study aims to analyze the effect of competence and training on employee performance with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at UPT Asrama Haji Makassar. The research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. Data were collected through questionnaires from 128 respondents and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) with Smart-PLS software. The findings reveal that competence has no significant effect on either performance or job satisfaction, nor through job satisfaction as a mediator. In contrast, training significantly influences both performance and job satisfaction, as well as indirectly affects performance through partial mediation by job satisfaction. Furthermore, job satisfaction significantly contributes to improving employee performance. Therefore, training and job satisfaction are identified as strategic factors in enhancing employee performance, while competence does not provide a significant contribution as initially assumed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product quality and service quality on customer satisfaction at the Cempaka Putih branch of Kopi Tuku. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 70 customers selected as respondents. Data were collected via a questionnaire and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics. The results indicate that product quality and service quality have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously. Product quality is the variable with the most dominant influence compared to service quality. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.731 indicates that 73.1% of the variation in customer satisfaction can be explained by these two variables, while 26.9% is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. These findings provide practical insights for Kopi Tuku’s management in establishing strategies for the continuous improvement of product and service quality to enhance customer satisfaction, as well as enrich the literature on factors influencing customer satisfaction in the coffee shop industry.
