Abstract

This systematic literature review employs the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) protocol to synthesize empirical evidence on the effects of AI-driven marketing interactions including chatbots, virtual assistants, recommendation systems, AI customer service, personalized advertising, and conversational commerce on consumer trust, purchase intention, and brand engagement. Following a comprehensive search across eight reputable databases (Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight, SpringerLink, Taylor & Francis, Wiley Online Library, and Sage Journals) for publications between 2019 and 2026, a total of 124 peer-reviewed empirical studies were included in the qualitative synthesis, with 48 studies providing sufficient quantitative data for meta-analytic procedures. The findings reveal that AI-driven marketing interactions predominantly exert positive effects on consumer trust (72% of studies), purchase intention (78%), and brand engagement (68%), contingent upon perceived anthropomorphism, transparency, personalization quality, and system responsiveness. Key mediating variables include perceived value, social presence, customer experience, and cognitive absorption, while privacy concerns, technology readiness, consumer innovativeness, and brand familiarity emerge as significant moderators. This review contributes theoretically by integrating Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Social Presence Theory, Trust Theory, and Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) Framework into a comprehensive conceptual model explaining consumer responses to AI marketing. Practically, the findings provide actionable insights for marketers, brand managers, and AI developers to design human-centered, transparent, and ethically responsible AI marketing systems that foster meaningful consumer-brand relationships.

Abstract

Organizations today face increasing pressure not only to enhance productivity and performance but also to create work environments where employees feel genuinely accepted, valued, and integrated as meaningful members of the organizational community. This systematic literature review adopts a qualitative meta-synthesis approach to analyze, synthesize, and integrate findings from prior research examining how belonging at work is formed through the interplay of workplace inclusion, social identity recognition, and employee well-being. Workplace belonging represents a critical organizational concern because it directly influences employee engagement, psychological health, work motivation, retention, and the quality of social relationships within organizations. Through a rigorous examination of peer-reviewed articles published between 2014 and 2026 across multiple academic databases, this study identifies several interconnected themes: workplace inclusion as a foundational condition, social identity recognition as a psychological mechanism, psychological safety as a mediating factor, inclusive leadership as a facilitating influence, social support and organizational culture as contextual moderators, and employee well-being as the ultimate outcome. The findings reveal that belonging at work is a multidimensional social-psychological phenomenon shaped by structural organizational practices, interpersonal relationships, leadership behaviors, and cultural norms. This review contributes theoretically by integrating previously fragmented literature into a comprehensive conceptual framework explaining the formation and consequences of workplace belonging. Practically, the findings offer actionable insights for organizational leaders and human resource practitioners seeking to design inclusive workplaces that promote employee health, engagement, and sustainable organizational performance.

Abstract

Digital communication technologies have transformed workplace operations by increasing flexibility, efficiency, and collaboration. However, they also contribute to digital presenteeism, where employees remain digitally available and responsive despite fatigue, illness, psychological distress, or being outside working hours. This systematic literature review uses a qualitative meta-synthesis approach to examine the relationship between digital presenteeism, employee well-being, and sustainable performance. Based on 139 peer-reviewed articles from Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and Emerald Insight, the review identifies key themes such as always-on work culture, blurred work-life boundaries, technostress, hidden labor, productivity paradox, declining well-being, and sustainable performance challenges. The findings show that excessive digital connectivity and constant availability expectations increase techno-overload, emotional exhaustion, work-life imbalance, and burnout. Although digital presenteeism may create short-term productivity, it can weaken long-term employee well-being and organizational sustainability. This study proposes a conceptual framework highlighting the role of organizational support, digital leadership, right-to-disconnect policies, and boundary management practices in reducing the negative effects of digital presenteeism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of experience, perceived reputation, perceived website quality, and perceived security on trust in online shopping and their impact on risk perception and repurchase intention among active e-commerce consumers in Indonesia. The study is motivated by the rapid growth of online shopping activities and the increasingly competitive e-commerce industry, requiring companies to understand the factors that strengthen consumer trust, reduce perceived risk, and encourage repurchase behavior. Unlike purchase intention, repurchase intention reflects consumers’ willingness to continue purchasing from the same platform based on previous shopping experiences and perceived value. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through online questionnaires distributed to 216 active e-commerce users in Indonesia selected using purposive sampling. Respondents were consumers who had previously conducted online shopping transactions through e-commerce platforms. The collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 26 software to examine the relationships among the proposed variables. The findings reveal that experience, perceived reputation, perceived website quality, and perceived security have positive effects on trust in online shopping. Furthermore, trust in online shopping has a positive effect on repurchase intention and significantly influences consumers’ risk perception. Risk perception, however, has a negative effect on repurchase intention, indicating that higher perceived risk reduces consumers’ willingness to make repeat purchases through e-commerce platforms. The findings suggest that consumer trust plays a crucial role in encouraging repurchase intention. Therefore, e-commerce companies should continuously improve website quality, strengthen transaction security, maintain a positive corporate reputation, and provide satisfying shopping experiences to enhance consumer trust, reduce perceived risk, and foster long-term customer relationships through repeated online purchases.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effects of competence, leadership style, and remuneration on the implementation of bureaucratic reform within the Planning and Organization Bureau of the Administrative Affairs Agency of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design. The analysis was based on 60 complete questionnaires that measured competence using five items, leadership style using five items, remuneration using four items, and bureaucratic reform implementation using five items, all rated on a five-point Likert scale. Instrument quality was assessed through item-total correlations and Cronbach's alpha, while the hypotheses were tested using multiple linear regression. To ensure that the inferences were robust to potential heteroskedasticity, the coefficient tests were supplemented with HC3 robust standard errors. The results show that the model explained 86.9% of the variance in bureaucratic reform implementation and was jointly significant (F = 123.757; p < 0.001). Partially, competence had a positive but statistically nonsignificant effect (B = 0.156; p = 0.295), and leadership style also had a positive but nonsignificant effect (B = 0.234; p = 0.121). Remuneration had a positive and significant effect (B = 0.625; p < 0.001) and was the strongest relative predictor. These findings indicate that bureaucratic reform requires integrated human resource management, with an emphasis on a fair, transparent, predictable, and performance-linked remuneration system, without neglecting competence development and change-oriented leadership. The findings should be generalized cautiously because the study focused on a single organizational unit and used perceptual data collected during one observation period.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of work stress, motivation, and work environment on employee performance, with work-life balance serving as a moderating variable, among PLN UP3 Baubau employees. The data for this study were obtained from employees of PLN UP3 Baubau in 2025, who were willing to participate as respondents. This research utilizes primary data collected through direct field research, where questionnaires/statements were distributed to respondents. The sample was collected using the census method, as the sample size is small, representing the entire population of 92 employees. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical analysis and Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results of this study reveal that work stress, motivation, and work environment have a positive and significant impact on employee performance at PLN UP3 Baubau. Work stress, at a manageable level, can motivate employees to become more focused and productive; however, excessive stress can have adverse effects. Strong motivation increases employees' enthusiasm and commitment to achieving the company's goals, while a comfortable and supportive work environment improves focus and productivity. Furthermore, work-life balance enhances the relationship between work stress, motivation, and the work environment, positively impacting performance. Employees who maintain a good balance between work and personal life tend to be more motivated and efficient in their work. Therefore, PLN UP3 Baubau management needs to improve these aspects to support optimal employee performance on a continuous basis.
