Abstract

Youth empowerment stands as a crucial approach for fostering sustainable development in context education, particularly in countries such as Nigeria where the youth population is significant. This study examines the implementation and outcomes of the Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO) initiative in Oyo State, Nigeria. YESSO aims to combat poverty and unemployment among young people by facilitating access to job opportunities and social assistance. Employing a descriptive survey methodology, data were gathered from 180 program beneficiaries and stakeholders. The findings indicate a substantial positive impact of YESSO on the lives of participants. The program has effectively delivered essential services and skills training, fostering asset acquisition and enhancing the financial capacity of unemployed youth and impoverished households. Additionally, YESSO has contributed positively to the health and educational prospects of beneficiaries. Nonetheless, challenges persist, including payment delays, insufficient tools for work, and mismanagement of grants. The study emphasizes the crucial role of youth empowerment initiatives in addressing unemployment and poverty and also identifies opportunities to improve program implementation and sustainability in context-based education. Furthermore, recommendations put forward include enhancing public awareness of the program, ensuring prompt fund disbursement, and addressing logistical hurdles to optimize the effectiveness of YESSO.

Abstract

Competition anxiety is a psychological phenomenon that is often experienced by athletes/students, including basketball athletes/students, at the State University of Makassar and can have a negative impact on their performance on the field. This research is motivated by the need to find effective methods for overcoming such anxiety. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of guided imagery training in reducing competition anxiety in basketball athletes/students. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 22 basketball students were selected by purposive sampling as research samples. Assessment of anxiety levels was carried out using the Scale of Anxiety (SA), which consists of 20 items, before and after the training intervention. The results of the data analysis showed that there was a significant decrease in athletes/students' level of anxiety after participating in guided imagery training; the t value obtained was 25.27, and the p value was 0.00 <0.05. This data indicates that this intervention not only aids in reducing anxiety but also has the potential to boost athletes/students' confidence. The conclusion of this study states that guided imagery training is proven to be effective in reducing competition anxiety in State University of Makassar basketball athletes/students. This study suggests that this method should be integrated into training programs to help athletes/students deal with the pressure of competition and increase their confidence.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Fitness Education Model in enhancing learning achievement in physical education, sports, and health subjects among students at public senior high schools. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Students from public senior high school 1 Polewali comprised the study's population, and the n-stage random sampling technique selected a sample of 50 students, including 30 males and 20 females. We collected data through observation and questionnaires. Data analysis used a t-test with a significance level of 5% to compare the results of the pretest and posttest. The results showed that the implementation of the Fitness Education Model was effective in improving student learning achievement compared to conventional methods. Students in the experimental group experienced an average increase in posttest scores of 17.5 points, compared to 9.5 points in the control group. Statistical tests showed a significant difference (p < 0.05) between the two groups. In addition, qualitative observations indicated that students in the experimental group were more active, motivated, and showed better social engagement than the control group. Therefore, we can conclude that the Fitness Education Model not only enhances students' motor and cognitive skills but also fosters the development of character traits like responsibility and cooperation.

Abstract

This study intends to examine how the teachings of the Khalwatiyah Samman Order instill moral values and implement them in society from the perspective of Islamic religious education. This study employs a qualitative research method, utilizing two distinct approaches: the first, the phenomenal approach, and the second, the sociological approach. The Wajo Regency served as the research location. The first participant observation is the data collection technique used, which examines data based on events that occur, locations, and places where images were recorded as accurate data sources. The study's results demonstrate that the teachings of the Khalwatiyah Samman order align with those outlined in the book Jamial Usuli Fil Uliyai. (1) One of these teachings is Dhikr bi-lisan, a verbal prayer in which a loud voice utters the phrase tauhid lailaha illallah. You must believe this prayer verbally, affirming that Allah is the only god worthy of worship. (2) Dhikr bil qalbi, namely Dhikr that is said in the heart or in the heart, both of these Dhikrs are bil-lisan, namely knowing the existence of God, who alone deserves to be worshipped, asked for help, and this kind of Dhikr will receive good deeds in the sight of Allah SWT. (3) Dhikr bil-ruh, namely Dhikr in this case, Dhikr in a divine atmosphere, namely there is no longer any real form except the form of Allah, all the joints of life for the servant of Allah who knows or has great mahabba (love), (4) Dhikr bil-zir, also referred to as Dhikr, denotes a state where a servant of Allah is genuinely always present with Allah. All of his daily activities possess a high Dhikr that defies words, ink, or wind. Only Allah, the remembered one who performs Dhikr, comprehends this state.

Abstract

The study aims to improve basketball dribbling skills through differentiated learning for grade VIII students at a public middle school. This research is classroom action research. We conducted this research in two cycles, each involving planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 28 grade VIII students of public Middle School 3 Bontomarannu. The study collected data through tests and observations. We conducted the data analysis using qualitative descriptive techniques, specifically percentage techniques. The study's findings revealed that in Cycle I, out of 28 students, the learning achievement for front basketball dribbling in grade VIII at public Middle School 3 Bontomarannu were as follows: 43%, or 12 students, met the completion criteria, while 57%, or 16 students, fell short. In Cycle II, the number of students who met the completion criteria increased to 82%, or 22 students, while only 18%, or 6 students, met the incomplete criteria. The data analysis results above suggest that differentiated learning can enhance the basketball dribbling learning achievement for grade VIII students at public Middle School 3 Bontomarannu.
