Abstract

Trash has become one of the urgent issues affecting the environment. Unfortunately, public awareness, particularly among students, about sorting waste according to its type is still not optimal. The “Waste Education” outreach activity aims to educate students of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta, especially the 2023 TK-B Class of the Department of Chemical Engineering, on the importance of proper waste management. This outreach activity was attended by 15 students. The socialization utilized a gamification approach in its implementation. The activity began with a presentation followed by playing a game from the website wordwall.com. This game was used to evaluate the students' understanding of the material presented earlier. After the gamification activity was completed, the team created a questionnaire on menti.com as a benchmark to measure the effectiveness of the event. Overall, participants gave positive feedback and found the “Waste Education” activity with the gamification method to be engaging and enjoyable.

Abstract

Abstract Marketing strategy is a way to achieve sustainable competitive advantage for companies that produce goods and services. Marketing strategy can be considered as one of the foundations for creating an overall business plan. In a global economy however, they often face challenges in maintaining their products in an increasingly tight market. In this article, we analyze various effective marketing strategies for UMKM to overcome increasingly fierce competition and maintain their competitive advantage. The objectives of this activity include finding out what marketing strategies can be used to increase competitiveness and maintain their products in the face of increasingly fierce competition, as well as knowing the obstacles so that they can provide the right solutions to handle them. Apart from that, the aim of this activity is to encourage community innovation and creativity. Type and Research Approach, namely qualitative. A qualitative approach is an understanding based on a methodology that investigates a social and human phenomenon. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews, observation and documentation. This research was carried out in Bangun Harjo Village, Pelepat Ilir District, Bungo Regency. Abstract

This study presents a review of typographic analysis on the Secret Garden Village logo based on typographic principles, namely readability, legibility, visibility and clarity. Understanding the importance of typography in creating a strong visual identity is achieved by reviewing relevant literature. The analysis method used is descriptive analysis of typographic principles to typographic elements in the logo such as font type, size, letter spacing and color. Based on the analysis result, this tourist destination logo consists of typographic elements representing the name and origin of the destination, while its graphic element in the form of trailing leaf accent. The font type used in the typographic elements is Cinzel Decorative Bold with the chosen colors being golden yellow and tosca green. The typographic elements in this logo have successfully applied typographic principles, making the message easily understood by readers. Overall, this logo effectively represents a strong identity.

Abstract

The training on the utilization of information technology and the use of digital safety in Cimaranten Village, Kuningan Regency, aims to improve the digital literacy of the community and increase awareness and skills in maintaining digital security. This activity was motivated by the lack of understanding and skills of the village community in using information technology, as well as the high risk of digital crime faced due to lack of knowledge about digital safety. The methodology used in this training includes preliminary studies, activity planning, development of training materials, training implementation, evaluation, and monitoring. A preliminary study was conducted to identify the needs and initial conditions of the community. The results of the training showed a significant increase in digital literacy and understanding of digital security among participants. Before the training, most participants had a very basic understanding of information technology and were unaware of digital security risks. After the training, participants were able to use digital devices for daily purposes and had a better understanding of how to protect themselves from digital crime. Participant satisfaction evaluation showed that 80% understood digital literacy, 84% mastered information technology and 76% understood digital safety, in addition to the participants felt that the material presented was very useful and the teaching methods were effective. The expected long-term impact of this training is the improvement of the quality of life of the Cimaranten Village community through better and safer utilization of information technology, as well as increased economic and educational opportunities through technology adoption

Abstract

Pde Laundry was founded by Mr. Surtaman since 2018 and is still operating until now assisted by 5 employees. This business is located on Jl. Citra Lautan Teduh RT 004 RW 001 No. 2B, Batu Besar, Nongsa, Riau Islands, which operates every day from 07.00 - 17.00 WIB. Pde Laundry provides washing services with a cost of Rp. 7,000 for one kilogram, scrubbing with a cost of Rp. 5,000. With the existence of Pde Laundry is one of the businesses that are easy to run, supported by the City of Batam which many changes/widening of the road that makes people’s clothes become dirty quickly. Laundry business is familiar to the public, so there is a lot of competition between fellow laundry business. So do not be surprised by this, which is to create a characteristic of the laundry business owned. So that the laundry that is owned has more identity and advantages than other laundry. Pde Laundry requires financial reports that can make operational activities run more effectively and efficiently. Thus, Microsoft Access can be used to assist MSMEs in preparing financial reports, the results of which are the Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Profit and Loss, Statement of Changes in Capital, and Statement of Cash Flow

Abstract

This service activity provides benefits to CV Pandawa Farm, because it uses cow dung into environmentally friendly fuel energy. Sarnubi CV Pandawa Farm's Cattle Farm is a cattle farm that has been established for more than 10 years. more than 30 individuals. The location of this farm is in the Sukawinatan area which is not far from the Palembang City Waste Landfill. The environmental conditions of this farm are not good because health management of cow dung has not been implemented here. Processing cow dung into biogas can have a good impact on the environment because it maintains environmental cleanliness. Apart from that, biogas can be used to replace fossil fuels. CV Pandawa Farm does not yet understand how to process cow dung into biogas. In this socialization, counseling was provided by providing knowledge and understanding of how to process cow dung waste combined with tofu industry waste into biogas using a Fixed Dome Digester

Abstract

Computer networks are essential to daily life in the digital age because they link devices and provide distant information access. But technological progress also poses serious concerns to data security. Threats like viruses, malware, and hacker attacks put data's confidentiality and integrity in danger. For this reason, cybersecurity technicians must comprehend and use strong security frameworks. Kerberos, a security protocol that enables entities in a network to safely verify their identities, is one of the solutions that are presented. On the other side, directories are managed via Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). In this context, teachers and students at the Vocational High School (SMK) with a focus on computer and network engineering receive instruction and training on network security. It is hoped that by doing this outreach, the community would see how important network security is and take the necessary precautions to safeguard data from intrusions. The outreach efforts were conducted at SMK Negeri 4 Palembang, which is the subject of this study. The findings demonstrate that students are able to test exploitation techniques on the framework used in the apache2 service and have a solid understanding of Kerberos, LDAP, and Firewalld.

Abstract

The socialization and implementation of an internet of Things (IoT)- based security system at UMKM Simbar were carried out as a community service effort to disseminate university knowledge to the public. The background of this socialization activity stems from challenges faced by the partner, such as a lack of knowledge about IoT-based CCTV technology, uncertainty about its benefits, concerns about implementation, and the inability to optimize the system. Through a systematic approach, this activity encompassed several stages, including in-depth interviews to understand the needs and conditions of the partner, development of hardware and software for the IoT-based CCTV system, validation and testing of the device in various conditions, as well as intensive training for the partner on system usage and maintenance. The results of this activity indicate that the partner is able to understand and operate the system effectively, and the developed system has successfully improved security and operational efficiency within the partner’s business environment. Technical challenges encountered during the implementation, such as signal interference and sensor inaccuracies, were successfully addressed through appropriate technical solutions. Continuous evaluation and feedback from the partner also suggest that this system holds significant potential for broader adoption in small and medium-sized enterprises).

Abstract

One of the roles of technology is to provide convenience in public services. RSMH Palembang's Emergency Department (IGD) section strives to provide medical services by providing fast and precise treatment for patients with emergency conditions by utilizing technology. Based on field surveys, the problems that occur are overcrowding and accumulation of patients in the Emergency Unit, so the aim of this activity is how to monitor patient density based on a website. With real-time monitoring, the quality of service to patients can be improved. The activity carried out was by providing outreach to RSMH Palembang partners. The final result of this activity was that the partner team experienced ease of use of the web-based application for monitoring patient density in the Emergency Unit by 80%, clarity of features by 85% and partner understanding of using the web-based application by 85 %.

Abstract

The development of infrastructure along riverbanks is a strategic measure to reduce the risk of erosion and landslides, particularly in tropical regions like Indonesia. The high rainfall and strong river currents in hilly and mountainous areas increase the potential for erosion and landslides, which pose a risk to local communities. Therefore, a retaining wall (DPT) designed with precise technical methods is needed to prevent such natural disasters. This community service activity aims to provide technical assistance in the preparation of a Detailed Engineering Design (DED) for the construction of a retaining wall along the Enim Riverbank. Through a series of field surveys, technical analyses, and discussions with various stakeholders, a DED was prepared that includes structural design, material selection, and appropriate implementation methods. The analysis results show that a retaining wall with a height of 4 meters, a foundation thickness of 0.7 meters, and a wall thickness of 0.5 meters can be applied at the project site. With the involvement of the community and related parties, this project is expected to reduce disaster risk and enhance the safety of the surrounding environment.
