Abstract

This study develops and tests lecturer learning models based on e-learning and self-directed learning (SDL) to improve adaptation to curriculum changes in South Sulawesi universities, Indonesia. With a research and development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE framework, the research involved 120 lecturers from various universities. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and expert validation, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, and thematic analysis. The developed model consists of four main components: (1) microlearning modules tailored to curriculum reform needs, (2) Digital Pedagogy Toolkit to support innovative teaching practices, (3) Community of Practice (CoP) for peer collaboration, and (4) Monitoring & Analytics Dashboard for data-driven feedback. The validation results showed high feasibility and relevance, while the effectiveness testing showed a significant increase in pedagogical competence, technological readiness, and proactive attitude of lecturers in adapting. Qualitative findings reveal increased motivation, collaborative engagement, and confidence of participants. This model has proven effective in encouraging the independent professional development of lecturers based on technology, with practical implications for integration into college professional development programs. Recommendations include infrastructure support, differential learning pathways, and participation incentives. Follow-up research is recommended to evaluate long-term impacts, adaptations in various contexts, and measurement of student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of Islamic law, culture, and social dynamics through a sociological approach. Islamic law is understood as a legal system derived from divine revelation rather than human construction, thus carrying strong spiritual and transcendental dimensions. Its implementation aims to promote the welfare of humanity as a whole, both in this world and in the hereafter. Culture, according to Ali Ahmad Madkur, represents the manifestation of divine values embedded in society; therefore, in Islam, culture cannot be separated from the principles of tawhid. The discussion also highlights the reciprocal relationship between law and society. Sociology, as the study of social life, helps to analyze patterns of social change and their impact on legal systems. In the modern context, social transformation often occurs more rapidly than legal reform, requiring law to adapt accordingly. This creates unique challenges for Islamic law to remain relevant in the face of changing times without compromising its foundational principles. Through mechanisms such as ijtihad, qiyas, and the concept of maslahah, Islamic law demonstrates the ability to respond to social changes with flexibility while remaining firmly rooted in the values of shari‘a. The study concludes that Islamic law functions not only as an instrument of adaptation but also as a guiding force for social transformation, balancing divine injunctions with the needs of contemporary society. Hence, Islamic law plays a vital role in maintaining harmony between religious teachings and evolving social realities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of educational level, gender, and personal communication skills of room attendants on guest satisfaction at Hotel Manhattan Jakarta. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed, with purposive sampling used to select guests who met specific criteria, including a minimum one-night stay and prior interaction with a room attendant. Data were collected through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and tested for validity and reliability using Pearson’s Product Moment correlation and Cronbach’s Alpha. The results of the study indicate that all questionnaire items are valid and reliable, with Cronbach’s Alpha values exceeding 0.86 for both personal communication and guest satisfaction variables. Linear regression analysis shows that personal communication has a significant positive effect on guest satisfaction, as evidenced by a t-value of 13.078 and a significance level of 0.000. The regression model Y=15.452+0.910XY = 15.452 + 0.910X suggests that each one-unit improvement in personal communication score increases guest satisfaction by 0.910 units. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.673 indicates that 67.3% of the variation in guest satisfaction is explained by personal communication, while the remaining 32.7% is influenced by other factors not covered in this study. These findings highlight the crucial role of personal communication in service delivery. For practical implications, hotel management should prioritize continuous training programs aimed at enhancing room attendants’ interpersonal skills, empathy, and responsiveness, as these factors directly contribute to guest satisfaction, positive word-of-mouth, and long-term brand reputation

Abstract

This research explores the application of narrative strategies and the use of visual media in presenting history by guides at the Jakarta History Museum to Generation Z visitors. The study is motivated by the low level of interest among Gen Z in visiting museums, often due to the rigid delivery of information and the limited use of interactive media. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied, with data collected through in-depth interview and documentation. The findings indicate that museum guides tend to combine chronological and thematic flows, include stories of historical figures, and adopt a casual tone familiar to younger audiences, occasionally interspersed with popular culture references. Visual support such as immersive rooms, interactive maps, and AR/VR technology proved effective in clarifying historical content while increasing visitor engagement. This study highlights that blending relevant storytelling with interactive visual media serves as an effective communication approach to foster young generations’ interest in history

Abstract

The high surge in demand for accommodation has led to hotels in Indonesia being required to provide maximum service and a memorable experience for tourists. The strategy employed is to integrate local elements into various aspects of hotel services. One hotel with the potential to implement this strategy is the Manhattan Hotel Jakarta. Its strategic location makes it a potential showcase for Betawi culture and other Indonesian cultures. However, the integration of local elements into hotel services has not been fully realized, as evidenced by guest reviews on online platforms such as Google Reviews and TripAdvisor. Some guests even expressed their hopes for a stay experience with a touch of local culture. This study examines the influence of local elements on customer satisfaction at the Manhattan Hotel Jakarta. This study uses an associative quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires from 90 respondents who are visitors to the Manhattan Hotel Jakarta. The data was analyzed using simple linear regression to see the effect of one variable X on variable Y through the SPSS application. The results of this study show that there is an effect of locality (X) on guest satisfaction (Y) at the Manhattan Hotel Jakarta. The correlation coefficient (R) test yielded a value of 0.736, indicating a positive relationship between variables X and Y. The R² determination test produced a value of 54.2%, indicating that the local factor (X) influences guest satisfaction (Y) at the Manhattan Hotel Jakarta by 54.2%.

Abstract

The growing number of coffee shops in urban areas has intensified competition, including for Ksatria Kopi. Adequate facilities have become one of the key factors influencing customer comfort and satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the effect of facilities on customer satisfaction at Ksatria Kopi. This research employed a quantitative method with a survey approach using an online questionnaire distributed to 75 respondents. The respondents were selected using a non-probability accidental sampling technique based on gender, education, and age criteria. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics 25 through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, simple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that facilities have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, as evidenced by the regression equation Y = 7.151 + 0.661X and an R² value of 0.810. This means that 81% of the variation in customer satisfaction can be explained by facilities, while the remaining 19% is influenced by other factors outside this study. The conclusion of this research is that the better the facilities provided, the higher the level of customer satisfaction. The originality of this study lies in its specific focus on a single object, Ksatria Kopi, which has not been extensively examined quantitatively in the context of the coffee shop industry in this region. These findings provide practical implications for Ksatria Kopi’s management to improve facility quality in order to retain and attract customers.

Abstract

This research examines the concept of Islamic law's crucial role in shaping the direction of national legal policy in Indonesia. This is due to the fact that the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim, and therefore, Islamic values naturally influence various aspects of national and state life, including the process of formulating legislation. Islamic values, derived from sharia and fiqh, prioritize the principles of justice, welfare, and morality, which align with the state's objectives as outlined in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution. From an Islamic perspective, leadership is a sacred mandate, not merely a political office. Leaders must be able to realize social justice and the welfare of the people, and be exemplary in upholding religious values. However, the political reality in Indonesia shows that this idealism is often hampered by transactional political practices, such as money politics. Money politics creates a market for support that undermines the democratic process, as people's votes are treated as a commodity to be bought. As a result, many leaders are elected not because of their capabilities and integrity, but because of their financial resources. This reinforces corrupt power structures and is far from the spirit of justice as taught in Islam. For this reason, there needs to be consistent efforts to

Abstract

Islamic education in the modern era faces significant challenges in balancing the need for mastery of knowledge with the strengthening of character and spirituality. Learning models that are solely oriented towards memorization often fail to foster critical thinking, creativity, and the internalization of moral values in students. Therefore, a more integrative approach is needed so that Islamic education not only produces a generation that is knowledgeable, but also creative and has noble character. This study aims to: (1) identify the role of Islamic education in developing critical thinking and creativity in students; (2) explore the core values of Islam that are relevant in strengthening the character of the younger generation; and (3) offer a model of integration between education, creativity, and values that can be implemented in educational institutions. The method used is a qualitative research based on literature review, by analyzing classical Islamic educational theory, contemporary approaches in education, and relevant research findings. The results show that Islamic education plays a significant role in shaping students who are capable of critical thinking, creativity, and religious character through the implementation of learning strategies based on dialogue, problem solving, and digital literacy. Islamic values such as honesty, responsibility, justice, and spirituality are found to be highly relevant in building the character of the future Muslim generation. This study concludes that the integration of education, creativity, and values is an important foundation in the development of Islamic education that is adaptive to the demands of the 21st century.
