Abstract

Toxic relationships often have a profound psychological impact, especially on adult women who have experienced failed engagements. This condition can affect life satisfaction and self-esteem, and hinder the process of emotional recovery following a relationship. The purpose of this study was to understand the impact of toxic relationships on the life satisfaction and self-esteem of adult women who have experienced failed engagements. The approach used was phenomenology with in-depth interviews with three adult women who had gone through this experience. The results showed that toxic relationships negatively impacted life satisfaction and self-esteem as evidenced by emotional deterioration and barriers to self-development and decreased self-esteem caused by feelings of disrespect and loss of direction in life. The findings highlight the importance of understanding the emotional impact of toxic relationships and the need for social support to aid in the recovery process after relationship failure. This research may provide guidance for the development of interventions that support women's recovery after experiencing toxic relationships.

Abstract

IThis study aims to test the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving the literacy skills and reading interest of students in class XA at SMANOR Tadulako Palu. This study used a classroom action research design conducted in two cycles involving 22 students. Data were collected through literacy tests and reading interest questionnaires, then analyzed descriptively and through ANOVA and Tukey's HSD tests. The results of the study show a significant increase in literacy skills, with the average score increasing from 38.18 in the pre-cycle to 65.91 in Cycle I and 90.91 in Cycle II (p < 0.05). In terms of reading interest, the median score increased from 44 in Cycle I to 65 in Cycle II, with a wider score range and a more even distribution. ANOVA analysis confirmed that the increase was statistically significant (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the implementation of PBL is not only effective in strengthening students' literacy skills, but also in fostering a more equitable interest in reading across different achievement groups. Thus, PBL is recommended as an alternative learning strategy to improve literacy and motivate reading in secondary schools.

Abstract

The learning of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) aims to nurture students who are devoted to Allah SWT, possess strong faith, exhibit commendable moral character, and have a sound understanding of Islamic teachings, particularly in relation to core principles and sources. The role of Islamic Religious Education teachers extends beyond merely imparting knowledge; it encompasses the transmission of values that shape students' behavior in alignment with Islamic teachings. This includes fostering an understanding of both personal and social piety—where personal piety pertains to individual worship, and social piety is reflected in empathetic and socially responsible behavior. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing primary and secondary data sources collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers at Raudhotul Qur'an Middle School play a vital role in internalizing social virtues among students. This is achieved through a structured value internalization process, beginning with the Value Transformation Stage—utilizing advice, role modeling, and disciplinary methods—followed by the Value Transaction Stage, which includes demonstrations and further modeling. The outcomes highlight a positive impact, evidenced by enhanced social awareness, increased empathy, and improved communication skills among students at TMII Raudhotul Qur'an Middle School.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the 5E instructional model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate) on the writing skills in recount texts of junior high school learners. The research focuses on improving students’ ability to write recount texts in English classes, where traditional teaching methods are still commonly used. The 5E model encourages active and cooperative learning, helping students stay engaged, explore ideas, understand concepts, enhance their skills, and assess their progress. This research uses a quantitative method with an experimental design. Two classes were randomly chosen—one as the experimental group using the 5E model, and the other as the control group using traditional lectures. Students took both pre-tests and post-tests to measure their writing abilities. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent t-test with SPSS. The findings show that students in the experimental group performed significantly better than those in the control group. The N-Gain scores also support this, with the experimental group scoring an average of 0.73 compared to 0.28 in the control group. These results suggest that the 5E instructional model effectively improves students’ writing performance, especially in junior high school.

Abstract

This The purpose of this study is to find out how adolescent social behavior is related to fatherless status. The absence of a father figure in a child's life, both physically and emotionally, is referred to as fatherless status. Social behavior is the way a person interacts well with others such as cooperating, empathizing, and communicating. This study used a correlational quantitative method with 118 respondents from Ibs Nur Shofin Junior High School. This study used the Father-Love Absence Scale (FLAS) instrument used to measure fatherless status and the Social Skills Improvement System-Rating Scale (SSIS-RS) used to measure adolescent social behavior. Assumption tests including normality and linearity were conducted, and the results showed that the assumptions were met for the Pearson correlation test to be used. The results showed a significant moderate negative relationship between social behavior and fatherless status (r = -0.416, p < 0.01). That is, the higher the level of fatherlessness, the lower the social behavior exhibited by adolescents. This study confirms the important role fathers play in supporting adolescents' social development and may serve as a basis for social and educational interventions.

Abstract

The This study examines the GASING (Easy, Fun, and Enjoyable) method in mathematics education through the lens of the philosophy of science, which encompasses three fundamental dimensions: ontology, epistemology, and axiology. The research addresses four key questions: (1) What is the nature of mathematics learning through the GASING method from an ontological perspective? (2) How is the process of knowledge construction within the GASING method explained through an epistemological framework? (3) What axiological values are embedded in the implementation of the GASING method? and (4) How does the GASING approach align with the fundamental principles of the philosophy of science in the context of mathematics education? Drawing upon a literature review of 14 scientific articles, the findings reveal that the GASING method develops understanding progressively from concrete to abstract, forming a strong ontological foundation. It promotes active knowledge construction through meaningful learning experiences as an epistemological process, and it embodies key axiological values such as perseverance, collaboration, and enthusiasm for learning. Furthermore, GASING emerges as a pedagogical approach that holistically integrates ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions, thereby reflecting the principles of the philosophy of science. The study contributes to the field by positioning the GASING method not merely as a pedagogical strategy, but as a comprehensive scientific framework for mathematics learning. This integration underscores its potential to enhance conceptual understanding and character development in primary mathematics education.

Abstract

Fatayat Nahdlatul Ulama (Fatayat NU) is a women’s organization affiliated with Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia. As an integral part of NU, Fatayat NU plays a significant role in promoting Islamic teachings, particularly the values of akhlakul karimah (noble character), in a manner that is easily understood and accepted by the community. The organization achieves this not only through educational activities but also by setting moral examples through its leaders. This study employs a qualitative field research approach, utilizing descriptive data obtained from written and verbal expressions of informants as well as observed behaviors within their social context. The research aims to explore how the values of akhlakul karimah education are internalized through Fatayat NU’s activities among the millennial generation in Sumber Rejo Village, Kota Gajah District, Central Lampung. The informants consist of the head and members of the Fatayat NU Sumber Rejo branch, along with the head of Sumber Rejo Village. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the internalization of akhlakul karimah values among Fatayat NU members is carried out through various religious and educational activities, including the study of Taysirul Kholaq, regular Yasinan recitations, Qur’an study sessions, quarterly religious gatherings, and manaqiban (commemorations of saints). These activities serve as an effective means to convey Islamic moral teachings to millennial women, enabling them to apply these values in their daily lives.
