Abstract

The Kaledupa subdistrict, located within the Wakatobi National Park, is a marine and coastal conservation area that restricts the use of construction materials. This condition necessitates a technical study on the sustainable use of local materials. This study aims to analyze the physical characteristics of coarse and fine aggregates from Kaledupa and fine aggregates from Malaoge, as well as to compare the compressive strength of concrete using local materials and aggregates from outside the region. The research was conducted experimentally with a planned concrete quality of fc' 20 MPa. The tests included aggregate characteristics based on SNI standards and compressive strength tests on 18 cylindrical test specimens at 7, 14, and 28 days of age. The test results showed that coarse aggregates from Kaledupa met the requirements, while fine aggregates from Kaledupa did not meet the standards due to their low specific gravity and high mud content (15.22%). Fine aggregates from Malaoge also did not meet the requirements for apparent specific gravity and high water absorption (3.88%). Compressive strength tests showed that concrete with fine aggregate from Kaledupa had higher compressive strength at all testing ages, namely 14.91 MPa (7 days), 20.48 MPa (14 days), and 22.93 MPa (28 days), compared to concrete with fine aggregate from Malaoge fine aggregate, which was 11.32 MPa, 13.87 MPa, and 17.17 MPa

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics and performance of traffic on Abdullah Silondae Street, Kendari City. The study results indicate that the highest traffic volume occurs on Saturdays, reaching 1,192 pcu/h in both directions, while the road capacity is recorded at 5,298 pcu/h. The number of observed side obstacles reached 2,159 incidents, categorized as very high. Road performance is indicated by a free-flow speed of 39.9 km/h and an average passenger vehicle speed of approximately 38 km/h, with a degree of saturation of 0.24. Based on these values, the road's level of service is category B, indicating stable traffic flow, although speed is starting to be affected by traffic conditions. This study recommends restructuring activities around the road, analyzing long-term traffic growth scenarios, and evaluating safety aspects and the use of other transportation modes. Further research is expected to formulate a more comprehensive traffic management strategy to improve road performance and safety.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structural capacity of the existing pavement and to determine the required thickness of flexible pavement overlay on the Kolaka – Rate-rate Road section to adequately serve traffic loads over a 20-year design life. Based on traffic survey results, the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) indicates a dominant contribution from heavy vehicles. The calculation shows a daily Equivalent Standard Axle (ESA) value of 1,322.47 ESA/day, with the largest contribution coming from 3-axle and ≥4-axle trucks. Considering an annual traffic growth rate of 5% and a 20-year design life, the Cumulative Equivalent Standard Axle (CESA) is estimated at approximately 1.60 × 10⁷ ESA. The evaluation of the existing pavement structure yields a Structural Number (SNₑₓ) of 6.96. Based on the relationship between CESA and subgrade bearing capacity (CBR 6%), the required Structural Number (SNᵣ) is determined to be 8.50. The difference between the required SN and the existing SN results in an overlay Structural Number (SNₒᵥ) requirement of 1.54. This value is then converted into the required asphalt overlay thickness using the appropriate layer coefficient

Abstract

Flooding is a natural phenomenon that often causes significant losses, influenced by both natural factors and human activities. One of the flood-prone areas is Martandu Street in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. This study aims to analyze the drainage capacity along a 1,550 m channel using a quantitative approach based on rainfall data, channel measurements, and hydrological analysis. The results show that the design discharge (4.298 m³/s) exceeds the existing channel capacity (2.913 m³/s), indicating that the drainage system can only accommodate 68% of runoff from a 305.495 ha catchment area. To address this issue, a redesign of the channel was proposed with improved dimensions. The redesigned channel is capable of accommodating a discharge of 4.301 m³/s, ensuring effective drainage performance and reducing flood risk in the area.

Abstract

This study is entitled “Geometric Evaluation of the Lanosangia–Wantulasi Road Section, North Buton Regency (Sta. 2+600–5+000).” Land transportation plays a strategic role in supporting economic growth; therefore, road geometric design must meet technical standards to ensure safety and comfort. This study addresses the issue that several road segments do not fully comply with geometric standards, particularly in terms of sharp curves and steep gradients. The objective of this research is to evaluate the existing geometric conditions, including horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, and cross-sections, based on the Guidelines for Geometric Design of Roads (PDGJ 2021) issued by the Directorate General of Bina Marga. A quantitative descriptive method was applied by comparing field data with applicable standards. Primary data were collected through field surveys using Geodetic/RTK measurements, while secondary data were obtained from related agencies. Data analysis was conducted using Digital Application Road to model alignments and calculate geometric parameters. The results show that the horizontal alignment consists of Spiral–Circle–Spiral (SCS) and Full Circle (FC) curves. Several vertical alignment segments have gradients exceeding 10%, although the overall terrain is classified as flat. The Stopping Sight Distance (SSD) meets safety standards. However, not all geometric elements comply with PDGJ 2021. This study provides recommendations to optimize road design qualit.

Abstract

The difference between productivity in the field and reference productivity can cause discrepancies between project planning and its implementation. This may result in resource wastage, cost inefficiency, and disruption of the project schedule. Therefore, an in-depth study is needed to determine the actual level of labor productivity occurring in the field. This study was conducted to analyze labor productivity in red brick wall masonry and wall plastering work on the Computer Laboratory Room Construction Project at SDN 7 Lembo. The purpose of this study is to calculate the actual labor productivity value and compare it with the reference productivity based on applicable regulations. Through this research, it is expected to provide an overview of the level of labor efficiency. This research was conducted through direct observation in the field. Observations were carried out on red brick masonry and wall plastering work. The aspects observed included the work volume, number of workers, and the duration of work per day. The results of this study show that the average labor productivity in the field is 5.53 m²/OH for brick masonry work and 22.79 m²/OH for plastering work. The standard labor productivity value according to the reference (Permen PUPR 2025) for brick masonry work is 4.76 m²/OH, and for wall plastering work it is also 4.76 m²/OH. The comparison of productivity values is 1.16 m²/OH for brick masonry work and 4.78 m²/OH for plastering work. Based on these results, the field productivity is higher than the productivity according to the reference standard.

Abstract

Ahmad Yani Street in Kendari City is one of the main road segments with high traffic activity, especially during peak hours. This study aims to analyze the road performance by examining traffic volume, side friction, speed, degree of saturation, and level of service (LOS). Data were collected through field surveys for three days during morning, afternoon, and evening peak hours. The observation segment spans 200 meters, from the front of SMP Negeri 4 Kendari to the front of Ittifaqul Jama’ah Mosque. The analysis results indicate that traffic volume is higher on Segment B, influenced by the presence of a gas station and school, while Segment A experiences smoother flow due to the presence of only a mosque. The highest side friction is also found on Segment B. The free-flow speed (FFS) is recorded at 49 km/h on Segment A and 47 km/h on Segment B. The actual travel speed (VT) is 35 km/h for Segment A and 28 km/h for Segment B. The degree of saturation is 0.70 on Segment A and 0.80 on Segment B. Based on these values, the level of service for Segment A falls into category C, while Segment B is in category D. These findings indicate that Segment B's performance requires further attention to improve traffic flow.
