Abstract

The aim of the research is to find out or predict how much a project will cost during implementation and to find out the effectiveness of project control using the Earned Value Method. To overcome existing problems, an Earned Value method is used. There are two parameters or indicators used for analysis, namely BCWS, BCWP. Delay deviations can be identified by looking at the Schedule Variance (SV). This method can also be used to determine the efficiency of resource use in the form of the schedule performance index (SPI). The project implementation time aspect has a negative value up to the 12 th week of (SV) -Rp. 44,776,771.84 or schedule performance index (SPI) = 0.82 < 1. The calculation results are obtained from an effectiveness value of 0.85 for controlling project time using the Method Earned Value. In other words, the results of an effectiveness value that is smaller than 1 (one) can be said to be that the Time Performance for the Implementation of the Concrete Pavement Road Work Project in North Kolaka Regency is less effective. From the results of the time performance study using the Earned Value Method, it can be concluded that the Time Performance for the Implementation of the Concrete Pavement Road Work Project in North Kolaka Regency experienced a delay from the initial plan. It is clear that in weeks 1 to 12 the project performance was delayed from the planned schedule

Abstract

Multi-story buildings with vertical irregularities often experience uneven load distribution, which can affect the structural performance under lateral loads, particularly seismic forces. Vertical irregularities, such as varying column and beam dimensions between floors, can lead to significant increases in displacement and deformation on the upper floors compared to the lower floors. Therefore, it is crucial to evaluate the impact of vertical irregularities on the structure's behavior to ensure building safety. This study aims to analyze the impact of vertical irregularity on the behavior of multi-story buildings using the nonlinear pushover method. The analysis was performed using SAP2000 software to assess the structural capacity to withstand lateral loads, particularly seismic loads. The results show a significant linear relationship between story displacement and lateral forces (R² = 0.8898), as well as the impact of vertical irregularities that increase story drift and story drift ratio on the upper floors. The increase in story drift ratio exceeding the earthquake design standard limits may affect the stability of the structure. Furthermore, this study reveals that vertical irregularity can cause significant differences in forces on columns and beams between the lower and upper floors, increasing the risk of structural failure. Based on these findings, it is recommended to consider vertical irregularities in the design of multi-story buildings, accounting for a more uniform distribution of forces throughout the building to ensure structural resilience against seismic loads.

Abstract

Concrete is a primary material in construction with significant environmental impacts, especially due to the use of cement and natural aggregates. One alternative to reduce this impact is by utilizing waste rubber as a partial replacement for coarse aggregate in concrete production. This study aims to evaluate the effect of adding waste rubber on the mechanical properties of concrete, particularly compressive strength and workability. In this study, waste rubber was added at 5%, 10%, and 15% of the total weight of coarse aggregate. Slump tests were conducted to measure the workability of the concrete, while compressive strength tests were carried out at 14 and 28 days to evaluate the development of the concrete’s strength. The results of the study show that concrete with added waste rubber exhibited better workability, indicated by higher slump values compared to normal concrete. Although the compressive strength of concrete with waste rubber was slightly lower at 14 days, at 28 days, the strength significantly increased. This study suggests that waste rubber can be used as an alternative coarse aggregate in concrete, considering the appropriate proportion to achieve a balance between the strength of the concrete and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

The SPBI 2×200 KL construction project, initially planned to be completed in 360 days, experienced significant delays in the 21st week, with a progress deviation of -16.434%. To address this issue, the Time Cost Trade Off (TCTO) acceleration method was implemented by adding 4 hours of overtime work per day. This strategy successfully shortened the project duration from 336 days to 231 days, reducing the total project time by 37%. The acceleration efforts were focused on critical paths that influenced the project's completion. Although there was a 17.1% increase in direct costs due to overtime wages, additional labor, and extra materials, the application of TCTO effectively reduced indirect costs associated with prolonged project duration, such as administrative and operational expenses. Overall, this method proved to be effective in bringing the project back on schedule and preventing further losses due to delays.

Abstract

The implementation of canal construction with an alternative method is to use Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mats (GCCM) which is a relatively new technology in industrial construction consisting of synthetic materials (geosynthetic) and cement concrete (cementitious). The GCCM method offers potential advantages over conventional methods, including faster construction time, lower maintenance costs, lower risk of environmental damage, and more consistent and durable channel quality. This study aims to highlight and compare the effectiveness of conventional methods and Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mats (GCCM) methods in canal construction. The results of the study indicate that the GCCM method has advantages in terms of structural strength, erosion resistance, and reduced environmental impacts compared to conventional methods. The results of physical tests show that GCCM significantly increases slope stability by reducing soil stoppage up to eight times compared to conventional methods. Under seepage flow conditions, slopes stabilized with GCCM remain solid without structural failure, while slopes with conventional methods experience total collapse. In terms of cost, although the price of GCCM material is higher, savings in labor and implementation duration make it more economical for large-scale projects. The results of this study can be a reference for practitioners and decision makers in choosing the right canal construction method for national strategic projects
