Abstract

The effectiveness of using geocells as a method of stabilizing soft soil in the road construction project to the National Capital City (IKN), most of which is peat with low bearing capacity and is susceptible to subsidence and freezing. Geocells are geosynthetic materials in the form of three-dimensional cellular structures that can strengthen the soil by distributing the load evenly and resisting soil movement. This study examines the working mechanism of geocells, the characteristics of soft soil, and the application of geocells in increasing the strength, stability, and service life of road infrastructure. The research methods include literature observation, analysis of physical-mechanical parameters of soil and geocells, and evaluation of the performance of the base layer of the road reinforced with geocells through case studies and field data. The results show that the use of geocells can increase the structural stiffness of the base layer, reduce land subsidence significantly, and allow a reduction in the thickness of the granular layer by up to 50%, thereby reducing construction costs and accelerating implementation time.

Abstract

The rapid growth of vehicle numbers in urban areas is often not matched by improvements in road infrastructure, leading to congestion and reduced traffic performance. This study aims to evaluate the road capacity and the performance of traffic signals at a signalized intersection in [insert location]. The evaluation is conducted using the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM) 1997, which includes calculations of traffic volume, road capacity, degree of saturation (DS), average delay, and level of service (LOS). The analysis results show that the intersection experiences [low/moderate/high] saturation with a DS value of [value], indicating [condition of the intersection's performance]. The average delay of [value seconds/vehicle] suggests that the signal [operates efficiently/needs timing adjustment]. The obtained level of service is categorized as [LOS A–F], reflecting [traffic performance description]. Based on the evaluation, it is recommended to [adjust signal timing/expand capacity/improve intersection geometry] to enhance traffic efficiency in the study area

Abstract

Abunawas Street in Kendari City is an urban route that serves as a secondary collector. This road section is located in the city center and experiences a high volume of motor vehicle traffic, comprising both public and private vehicles. Furthermore, this area contains trip generation centers such as eateries, cafes, and schools, which have the potential to increase traffic flow and induce noise pollution. This study aims to analyze the influence of degree of saturation on traffic noise on Abunawas Street in Kendari City. Observations of traffic and noise levels were conducted during peak morning, afternoon, and evening hours over a two-day period, specifically on Monday (representing typical workday routines) and Saturday (representing the weekend). The findings of the research reveal that the average noise level on Abunawas Street is 72.4 dB. This value surpasses the established environmental noise threshold in Indonesia. The degree of saturation demonstrates a significant influence on the traffic noise level, accounting for 57.9%. This influence is characterized by its positive and proportional nature, indicating that as the saturation degree of the road increases, so will the corresponding traffic noise level.

Abstract

Cost is a factor that influences the success and failure of a project. This is a parameter for the success of a project which can be seen from the completion time and minimum costs but with guaranteed quality in accordance with planning. Calculation of the Cost Budget Plan (RAB) is the total product of the quantity or volume of each work item together with the unit price of the work. Budget Plan The total cost of structural calculations using the steel structure method and the concrete structure method. The budget plan for the steel structure method is IDR 24.348.341.722,. and for structural work using the concrete structure method it is IDR. 29.071.552.971,65. In the DC Kendari alfamidi warehouse work, the steel and concrete structure method resulted in a difference of IDR 4.723.211,249,48. . For work items that have significant comparative costs, namely column work in concrete structure method structural work is IDR 7.616.810.069,95 and the planned cost budget for the steel structure method is IDR 3,805,657,473,58. In the Kendari DC Alfamidi warehouse work, the difference is found to be IDR 3.811.152.596,37 which means that work on concrete structure columns is more expensive than concrete structures

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors causing delays in construction projects in Songgon District, Banyuwangi Regency, and to analyze the influence of each factor on project delays. The research method employed is quantitative, using a descriptive and analytical survey approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 66 respondents consisting of contractors, supervising consultants, project owners, and material suppliers. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical techniques, Relative Importance Index (RII), Severity Index (SI), and Importance Index (II). The results show that the most dominant factors contributing to delays are difficult access to material transportation, unfavorable weather conditions, and a shortage of skilled labor, which have the highest RII and SI values. The Importance Index (II) analysis indicates that these factors are also considered highly significant in influencing project delays. This study provides important insights into the local factors affecting construction project delays in Eastern Indonesia, particularly in Banyuwangi Regency, and offers recommendations for mitigating delay risks through infrastructure improvements, more realistic planning, and enhancement of skilled labor availability. This research is expected to serve as a reference for contractors, project owners, and related parties in managing construction projects in areas with similar geographical and socio-economic characteristics

Abstract

Construction projects are inherently complex due to the involvement of human resources, materials, equipment, costs, and schedules. In Indonesia, project delays and cost overruns remain common issues, often caused by weak monitoring and control mechanisms. Conventional reporting methods, which rely mainly on progress percentages or S-curves, are limited because they do not provide integrated information on cost, time, and performance. This study develops a project performance prediction model using Earned Value Management (EVM) based on weekly progress data, with a case study on the construction of the LPPM & BPMI Building at Veteran Bangun Nusantara University. The research applies an applied case study approach, utilizing project documents and weekly progress reports as the primary data. Indicators such as Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), Schedule Variance (SV), and Schedule Performance Index (SPI) were calculated for weeks 1–13. The analysis shows that while the project was initially ahead of schedule (positive SV and SPI > 1 in weeks 1–5), performance declined significantly after week 6. At week 13, the SV turned negative with an increasing gap between planned and actual progress, while the SPI dropped to 0.44, indicating serious schedule inefficiency. Forecasting results using EVM predict that the project, initially planned for completion in 25 weeks, will require 41 weeks, resulting in a delay of approximately 16 weeks.

Abstract

This research is caused by the need to improve time and cost efficiency in the implementation of construction projects, particularly in the construction of multi-story buildings such as the SDN 16 Pinrang project. Until now, project scheduling has relied on the Bar Chart method, which is not capable of optimally identifying dependencies between activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze the application of the Critical Path Method (CPM) in scheduling multi-story building construction projects to enhance project execution effectiveness. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through document studies, field observations, and secondary data analysis of the Bill of Quantities (RAB). The results show that the CPM method is effective in identifying critical activities that determine the total project duration. Out of 10 project activities, Five are non-critical and have slack time that can be utilized for acceleration without affecting the main critical path. Through the optimization of parallel work and the use of slack time, the project duration can be reduced from 26 weeks to 18 weeks, resulting in a cost saving of IDR 431,525,263.65 or approximately 23.55% of the initial total budget

Abstract

Jenderal Sudirman Road, located in Pinrang Regency, is one of the main roads with high traffic intensity. The large traffic volume is influenced not only by daily community activities but also by the rapid development of shopping areas and its role as a primary access to several government offices. The growth of commercial and service centers has drawn significant vehicle movements, both private and public, leading to higher congestion. This condition requires a performance study to evaluate the road’s Level of Service (LOS), degree of saturation (DS), and capacity in accommodating increasing traffic flow. The objective of this study is to provide a clear picture of the existing condition of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and serve as a foundation for effective urban traffic management and planning, with reference to the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI). Data collection was conducted on Thursday, August 14, 2025 to represent a weekday and on Saturday, August 16, 2025 to represent weekend traffic conditions. The results indicate that congestion occurs mainly during peak hours, especially between 16:00 and 18:00 WITA. Analysis using PKJI 2023 recorded the road’s capacity at 2,632 PCU/hour under low side-barrier conditions. Peak traffic volume reached 2,426.07 PCU/hour, producing a degree of saturation of 0.92. This corresponds to LOS E, which reflects unstable flow, near-capacity conditions, and frequent reductions or halts in vehicle speed. Thus, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman can still accommodate current traffic demand but is operating under critical conditions, requiring immediate traffic management measures to handle congestion and anticipate future growth.
